Akatsuki really is a masterpiece. The way Su sings her heart in every note is one of the best things you'll ever hear. The Kami's instrumentation was also phenomenal as always. In their recent Budokan performance, Su sang this again after 3 (not sure) years. They did a mix of the original version and the Unfinished version. Everybody loved it. When you're busy headbanging then the music suddenly stops and Su starts singing the unfinished version is really amazing. I watched a fancam of it but too bad, it already got striked down by Amuse. Kitsunes up!
They also sound better live because Su continuously improves her technique and approach to each song through performance. The studio versions are all basically first drafts that haven't had the benefit of that process.
@@rantingrodent416 Everyone involved in Babymetal keeps improving themselves. It's amazing to see. Most artists almost seem to have an attitude: studio version is done, let's hope to play it live just as well and then stop.
@@rantingrodent416 SuMetal said she tries to avoid boredom every show performing or changing some parts of the song doing something different vocally, also till this day she know she didn't mastered songs like Megitsune, that's why she does checksound before concerts with that song because their difficulties and as a point of reference for her. That's why she brings something different and refreshing every time she sings in a new show, that's why we love her
This is power metal. The Kami Band seems very happy and cheerful whenever they perform. Even when they lost the great Mikio Fujioka, their energy and professionalism is top notch. Wish Mikio Fujioka and Yuimetal are still with Babymetal. May the future look bright for Babymetal. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤟
I like this version more too. For the theme of the song, that she is sacrificing herself to save the world of metal, I like it best with the feel that she does it with decision and fierceness instead of sadness, although she still makes you feel her vulnerabilty all the performance in this version too. In addition to a better musicianship; the piano on the Legend 1997 performance was nice, but this is really good metal (and an echo to Kurenai from X-Japan, as surely someone already said). Although she is good enough, Suzuka is not the best singer around when it is about vocal technique, but what makes she outstand to the point to have transformed a band inside a relatively unknown teenage idol group into a world phenomenon is the passion she puts in every note and her flawless skills as a performer. In addition to her singing skills, you can clearly see that she was trained as an actress since she was a little children. She always puts a lot of effort to find the exact emotion she wants to transmit with every sentence, that is one of the reasons live versions are better. Their songs are always evolutioning and improving. That by the way, they made a new mix for this song for the concert two weeks ago. And there is something magic in seeing a 16 years old trying her best effort and succeeding on it.
100% disagree about her vocal technique it is amazing. She knows what she is doing. Watch any of the many reactions by vocal coach’s and they say the same
Why you felt something emotional about this song is because Akatsuki actually a sad song, Su delivered the song very well that the song's emotions reached you, Alan. You seemed lost of words in this reaction and nearly cried in confusion, well almost everybody does, until you read the lyrics maybe you'll let the feeling out the time you hear/see Akatsuki again.
One of my all time favorite Babymetal songs. Always in my top 5. That dual guitar solo is my favorite dual guitar solo ever. Perfect blend of feeling, shredding and cohesiveness. Not to mention Su absolutely kills it in this performance. This particular performance is in my opinion one of the best Babymetal performances of a song out there. Between Su's vocals, kami band, the stage setup, pyrotechnics going perfectly with the timing of the song, it all comes together in one epic package!
Akatsuki describes dawn when things are red, in this case it's translated as "Crimson Moon". It's a Su solo and has been out of the setlist for a while now that BM is just Su-metal and Moametal, but they brought it back in the current set of concerts at Budokan Doomsday. I'm really glad they did because the shows are better with Su and Kami solos and Akatsuki is one of my favourites. It's a hymn to undying love (or at least keeping it's memory alive) and uses the symbolism of the "red thread" to connect lovers; there's lots of red imagery in the lyrics of this song, but I'm not sure that the "Miss Havisham" never ending love aspect of the message is one to be emulated. The other minimal unfinished version of Akatsuki with Su singing to a piano accompaniment works very well between the high energy of Headbanger and the insanity of Babymetal DEATH in Legend 1997. Those three songs together tell an great story and for that reason the unfinished version is probably my favorite - although the guitars on this version are pretty awesome. The cape is a great dramatic prop for Su's performance, although I wonder if it's a nod to the capes that the heros in the Akatsuki manga wear.
finally,.. and again the timing for this reaction is perfect. they just performed this song in "BM DoomsDay V & VI at Budokan". not just those cape's that made a returns, but they also bring back "the muscle metal" and they also add the un-finished version. can't wait to get "delorean" once they released it,...
I'm surprised you guys didn't have this version of the reaction. At a live concert in Japan last week, they played akatsuki in a style that was a mix of both versions with special dancers. We wish we could see the performance of official video someday.
Nice & thanks again from Japan 有り難う💛。 On Feb.19 this year, Akatsuki became a very special song for BABYMETAL fans. This song had not been performed for 2 years and 4 months, but they did it again that day. I witnessed it at Budokan, the same legendary arena in this video. (They did it on Feb.20, too.) That performance was incorporated with unfinished version partially and fighting choreo by 2 muscular female dancers as they did in 2018 dark side shows. Honestly I can not remember clearly what I saw and what I heard because it was too surprising and too mesmerizing. I have to confirm it when the official video is released. There is a certain thing, however. I felt celestial bliss.
Someone uploaded a fan cam of it after the shows, but it's already been taken down again, of course. I almost fell out of my chair when they switched between normal and unfinished in the middle of the song and then switched back. That performance was super amazing, I watched it 3 or 4 times in a row and the next morning the video was gone.

Awesome reaction... My favorite BM song. They performed an awesome version of this song on the recent Budokan shows combining this badass version with a bit of the unfinished one. Considering that Su's matured and improved a lot in the years since the first Budokan shows, I'm really looking fw to watching the pro shot of the new performance (I only saw a fancam video, and Japanese fans say that it was amazing). With BM, live pro shot is almost always better than the studio versions. The mixing is different and heavier, and the Kami band makes all the difference in the world. Also Su's natural voice is better than the compressed version they use in studio recordings.
This is Su's wheelhouse My only complaint little nasally at the start This version is better because of the dual guitar solo that finish with the back to back guitar harmony Awesome I love the Wembley version Su running to the stage with all the fire plumes shooting up
Great reaction!! This is my favorite Su-Metal solo! And yes a prefer this version over the unfinished, Su and the Kamis just go hard and make a metal masterpiece! 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻
Hello guys, greetings from Canada... Nice touch changing places, now you can both bruise the other shoulder... There is a live CD (or Delorean, for those in the know) of the Budokan Red Night entire show (76 minutes)... Red Night at Budokan is the infamous show when Yui fell off the stage during Headbanger and Moa tripped during Ijime, Dame, Zettai... I haven't watched that show since 2014, as I personally prefer the Black Night one (ringing the gong in Headbanger, and a tremendous finale). BABYMETAL \ LIVE AT BUDOKAN - RED NIGHT - from Toy's Factory TFCC-86502 megitsune doki doki morning gimme choco!! iine Catch me if you can (with Kami Band intro) uki uki midnight akumu no rondo (Rondo of Nightmare with Kami Band intro) onedari daisakusen 4 no uta akatsuki BABYMETAL DEATH HEADBANGER!! ijime, dame, zettai
In the unfinished version, I feel like she is vulnerable and is singing like she is about to be separated from the one she loves. I imagine that person leaving to go into battle. While in this version, I imagine she is the one going into battle and is DECLARING her love for the one she has to leave. This is so bad ass while heartfelt at the same time. The lyrics to this song are amazing even in English. "Going over thousands of nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love." I love this song and performance so much. 🤘🦊🤘
In an interview, Su-metal, who is a excellent pianist, was asked if she played the piano on the backing track. Fact or Lore OTFGK The is a video where Su-metal sits at the piano during a portion of the "Unfinished" version. However, from the camera angle it's difficult to tell if she is actually playing.
@@pigeonchatter4536 Su-Metal did play the piano on-stage during a NRNR performance. It was a very emotional reedition. Don't think there is a YT video because it would get a copyright strike. There is an earlier NRNR performance where Yui and Moa "play" on a piano.
Definitely, one of my favorite tunes from Babymetal! It seems that all reactors always react to this one particular video! The one that should be looked at is the unfinished version of Atkasuki! Just Su and a piano! The emotional feeling Su puts in is epic!
The contrast between the two versions is really something. I think this one is more emotionally affecting because the emotional range of the music is wider. The solo piano doesn't create the same soaring ups and downs that you get in this version, and Su's voice is better supported in portraying emotion with that extra range.
I did some digging about the girls and this is what I found out.. All live is live recorded, exception is the live videos that have the (official) added to them they have the studio track. ( Include live mix videos have studio recording ) Except Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (OFFICIAL) That show is recorded live in the Saitama Super Arena in Japan - 20000 people sold out show! And they do not lip sync either, they did in early years but Su stopped when the band was added and Yu & Mo later when their voices stabled. They have prerecorded chorus by Mo added to Su in some places, add volume on the songs. And no extra chorus singer is needed as (Yu) & Mo also sing scream and short chorus now. Only song written by the girls is the one Yu & Mo perform and written by Yu & Mo, part from that song they don't write any part of the songs.
Has Babymetal had any influence on music outisde of Japan? I think one artist that's been influenced by Babymetal is Poppy, in songs like "Concrete". Now would be a good time to react to Poppy's "Bloodmoney", which was nominated for a Grammy for Metal Performance.
Great reaction guys. Not once have Babymetal disappointed me. Just need this virus BS to stop now so I can get to see them in concert soon. I was watching the Babymetal chronicles the other day , and Moa said she has spent half her life in Babymetal. Not a shocker of a statement really until you remember that she’s 21. These girls basically gave up a normal childhood to be metal demon kids. What were you doing when you were a child? Not slaughtering 50,000 metal heads at festivals I’d wager. 🦊🦊🦊
I read from a fan in Japan that BabyMetal in interview said that Akatsuki was not about the famous author of that name; but was a sly little reference to the man that wrote about how much he loved his dying wife during her illness and her madness in war torn Japan.
Everyone gushes about Su's extraordinary talents but what I admire the most about her and Moa and Yui and the Avengers and the musicians is their humility.
Akatsuki is an amazing song really miss Yu-metal but there new songs as u have reacted so fair are all good sources say that baby metal wasn’t sure to continue without yui-metal but they took a step further and introduced new dancers honestly they are amazing as well but baby metal will always have a special place in yui-metals heart and is welcome back anytime

Heck yes! We're down
It seems rare that a band can be even better live. This band is sooooo much more fun to watch play. Their recordings are very good! But live they absolutely cannot be denied. We all need to save our pennies so that we can travel to see them live in Japan where they really pull out all the stops.
Thanks Su ~Moa ~Yui ~kami Band ~Dance choreographer Mikiko and Behind the scenes staff.Akatsuki is a masterpiece Forever !!!
So true gotta give props to all the people who made it possible 🤘
It really was awesome 🤘
Right!

You should check out Nyango Star's drum cover of Akatsuki. Nyango Star is a Japanese heavy metal drumming mascot. The Akatsuki cover has 1.2 million views. It's awesome. And he/she is dressed like Su. I mean two levels of costume. They're in a mascot suit, then the mascot is dressed like Su with the cape and all.
Will Alan cry??? Lets see. I cry during this song if I am drunk.
just tell the fact, i only watch the BABYMETAL video from ur channel dude :v
i knew you gonna love this one! heck yeah! Teenage SuMetal is unbeatable, so much power and high notes here, you can't help falling in love with her, althou my fav is Rondo Of Nightmare from SuMetal solos, this one is def my second fav.
I'll try to get your stream, but i doubt wich BabyMetal concert you can watch, i think they're heavily copyrigthed, but good luck anyways guys! Enjoy it! \m/
You're totally right!
We can definitely do the stream without issue just can't put the VOD out after.
Love for you guys to react to my favorite BabyMetal song, with

BabyMetal song, best dance, best riffs, best kami band intro
Thanks men!
Thanks so much for watching. We will get to more BM soon! 🤘
This is Su's wheelhouse My only complaint little nasally at the start This version is better because of the dual guitar solo that finish with the back to back guitar harmony Awesome I love the Wembley version Su running to the stage with all the fire plumes shooting up
Very cool!
Great reaction!! This is my favorite Su-Metal solo! And yes a prefer this version over the unfinished, Su and the Kamis just go hard and make a metal masterpiece! 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻
Very nice choice! 🤘🦊
@@dicodec Thanks 🦊🤘🏻
Hello guys, greetings from Canada... Nice touch changing places, now you can both bruise the other shoulder... There is a live CD (or Delorean, for those in the know) of the Budokan Red Night entire show (76 minutes)... Red Night at Budokan is the infamous show when Yui fell off the stage during Headbanger and Moa tripped during Ijime, Dame, Zettai... I haven't watched that show since 2014, as I personally prefer the Black Night one (ringing the gong in Headbanger, and a tremendous finale).

That was beautiful put 👌❤
Great videoooo!
I think is time for YAVA! Live. Hope you react to that song.
We will get to that one soon. 🤘🦊
YEAHH!!! finally! Thanks for reacting to this video! Great reaction as always.
Can you please to
saosin - 7years
Or
Saosin - they perch on stilts (sth like that)
Yeah it did take us a while to get here. Glad you liked it. 🤘🦊
YESS AKATSUKI FINALLY
Whoop whoop!
In an interview, Su-metal, who is a excellent pianist, was asked if she played the piano on the backing track. Fact or Lore OTFGK
The is a video where Su-metal sits at the piano during a portion of the "Unfinished" version.
🤘🦊🤘
My all time babymetal song fav!! Thanks for this..also amore is rocking also
Definitely, one of my favorite tunes from Babymetal! It seems that all reactors always react to this one particular video! The one that should be looked at is the unfinished version of Atkasuki! Just Su and a piano! The emotional feeling Su puts in is epic!
We did that song on here, we did that one first ruclips.net/video/n4JFU5oF5rQ/видео.html
@@dicodec I saw that you did right after I posted my comment! Great tune and reaction as always
this song is full of emotional and full of energy👺💪
Heck yes!
The contrast between the two versions is really something. I think this one is more emotionally affecting because the emotional range of the music is wider. The solo piano doesn't create the same soaring ups and downs that you get in this version, and Su's voice is better supported in portraying emotion with that extra range.
True, that's a fair point
It's my favorite BM song
Sweet!
2:32 is me during this entire song.
Haha nice!
🔥🤘Killer Queen💃
Indeed haha

NEMOPHILA/Dissension💥
I did some digging about the girls and this is what I found out..
All live is live recorded, exception is the live videos that have the (official) added to them they have the studio track. ( Include live mix videos have studio recording )
Except Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (OFFICIAL) That show is recorded live in the Saitama Super Arena in Japan - 20000 people sold out show!
No way? That's pretty wild 😮
@@dicodec Poppy mixes genres as fearlessly as Maximum the Hormone. You can hear a little of that in Bloodmoney but other songs go further.
Queen always does her job
Yup, she hasn't failed us yet!
Amazing work by Leda Cygnus and Ohmura on this version. Guitar harmonies up to 11!
Heck yes! ❤
Hooooowww❗️
AKATUKIdaaah😆👏👏👏
Loved all the bm reactions this week dicodec! PLEASE DONT STOP LOL.
Thanks so much! We won't 🤘🦊
Suzuka Nakamoto is the irradiant Star in the Metal Galaxy!!!This Song is so powerful!!Stay Tuned.........
It's a great video!
It really is 🤘
Great reaction guys.
Heck yeah same here! They always deliver. We definitely have to see them live no questions asked 🤘
Don't mind me. I'm just here going through your BABYMETAL reactions for the 100th time. LOL 🤘🦊🤘
Wait until you hear our cover!
@@dicodec Hell yeah!🤘🦊🤘
this video of you two made be sub... whatever that means. Keep trucking...
Are you changing seats?
"AKATSUKI" has a most beautiful sound and Su voice !!
We did indeed change seats haha.
Totally, just that intro alone is gorgeous
My favorite Su-Metal solo
So awesome!
I love the studio version of all their music, but the live versions are completely next level!
Agreed 🤘🦊
that reminds me of X Japan
Interesting 🤔
With Babymetal their studio versions feel like demos but then the live versions are so much better and so good like It's the finished product
To an extent
I love ending her eye!
Love babymetal 😍
That's awesome! 🦊
FU*******CKING GOOD

Okey, next amore 😀😀
To be completely honest I don't even know what BM song we got next 😮
🤘🤘🔥
🤘🦊🤘
I read from a fan in Japan that BabyMetal in interview said that Akatsuki was not about the famous author of that name; but was a sly little reference to the man that wrote about how much he loved his dying wife during her illness and her madness in war torn Japan.
That is a pretty sad story
Everyone gushes about Su's extraordinary talents but what I admire the most about her and Moa and Yui and the Avengers and the musicians is their humility.
We totally feel you on this 🤘
Legend S version was just DOPE!!!
True true 🤘🦊
I highly recommend X Japan's song Dahlia. Freaking awesome
Haven't done X-Japan in a long time. It's about time we got back to them.
@@dicodec Amen brother. One thing though, Su is a Queen. Such a majestic mesmerising stage presences.
That's a weird looking Eric(left) and Alan(right)
Yup, it was weird for us too haha
Akatsuki is an amazing song really miss Yu-metal but there new songs as u have reacted so fair are all good sources say that baby metal wasn’t sure to continue without yui-metal but they took a step further and introduced new dancers honestly they are amazing as well but baby metal will always have a special place in yui-metals heart and is welcome back anytime
So true 🤘🦊❤🤘
Next Babymetal - arkadia 🤘
I'm sure we'll do it really soon
