Dancing in the dark 2 meters above a rotating stage, a 16yr old Suzuka sings of an Unending Nightmare being chased by a Faceless Terror and begging a Boon that it show her its Face just once before she dies. That's Metal. Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
2014: BABYMETAL mark a record being the youngest band to play at Budokan, the temple of rock in Japan. That was the year of their first tour in UK, when they became a world phenomenon. It was indeed a very complicated show, the first night, the red one, YUI fell from stage during Headbanger and SU and MOA had to colse the song alone, YUI got back for IDZ (Ijime Dame Zettai), tthen MOA slipped and twisted her ankle, she managed to end the performance even though in visible pain. She's a powerhouse indeed. 🤘🦊⚡
BTW, MOA and YUI were born in 1999, mid summer, so they were 14, SU was born in December 1997 and was 16 here. Yes, there are only 18 months between them, though SU looked way older compared to YUI and MOA in the beginning, cause they were pretty small. Which is still true nowadays, as they're about 1,56 m S&Y, 1.54 M. That's quite relevant indeed as you may already guessed, as they dance jump and sing, especially for SU. Even her on very few occasions had trouble with that, like during Karate at Glastonbury (awful audio there, not their fault), after the break she jumped too hard and wasn't able to recover fast enough, so she cracked a bit, but it took a blink of the eye to settle and she pulled the final double "Hashire" as strong as usual! 🤘🦊⚡
Great reaction. The Budokan is a martial arts arena (so it is in the round with the audience surrounding the stage and up on several levels) built for the 1964 Olympics but is now also one of the most prestigious venues in Japan for music concerts - it is the place Japanese artists aspire to play and very few actually get there. BABYMETAL are the youngest average age female band to ever headline the Budokan (Su was just 16, Yui and Moa were still 14) and they sold it out two nights running as they launched their first album in March 2014. Black Night was the second night, Red Night was the first. At the start of 2021 they played 10 shows at the Budokan as part of their 10 year celebrations. In 2016 they played the Tokyo Dome - two nights, both sold out again - 55,000 people each night. In those two shows they played a completely different set list each night, all the songs from the first two albums complete with bespoke choreo for each song. At the Legend Metal Galaxy shows in 2020 they again played two nights and two completely different set lists.
Just to add, the Budokan featured heavily in this year's Tokyo Olympics as well, some (if not most) of the martial arts competitions took place there. It was great to watch the karate fights being conducted there and to see the arena in a quite different configuration. It's also perfect for sumo tournaments. If you google 'live at budokan', the first hits to show up are Dream Theater, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, and Ozzy Osbourne who each (among many more artists) dedicated entire live albums to this venue. It's just that revered, and by far not only by Japanese artists.
Great observation on Su's vocals. Which is why I think she's different than other female metal vocalist. Her voice is like a straight line piercing through every heavy barriers in their music. Effortlessly. Her poise, her maturity, her dominance and profesionalism at such a young age is just mindblowing. Youngest Queen of Metal right here.
Queen Su is a soprano with a range of C4 to G#5 (though she does hit G#6 once, in a duet with Rob Halford of Judas Priest). Her voice has also really matured since this performance several years ago. For the most up-to-date performance by Su, try the beautiful version of 'The One' that was released last week, along with an enigmatic message about the future direction of Babymetal: ruclips.net/video/WHphfTnJj90/видео.html 🦊🤘🤘🦊
⚡ / 🔥 😱 🔥 And… that's why we made Su-metal our queen at 16 years old. : ) Her voice is even better now that she's 23. Su sang three solo songs that night. She did 'No Rain, No Rainbow', followed by 'Akatsuki' earlier in the set. I already liked BABYMETAL, but those solo songs made me a die hard fan. Dancing on a small platform raised ten feet in the air demonstrates courage. Following up an introduction where each Kami Band member shows off their skills with a solo, shows total fearlessness. : )
BABYMETAL doesn't stick to one genre and experiment with whatever comes next. They have songs from metal ballads, Ska, Nu Metal, Metalcore, Latin and Hindu influences, EDM, Progressive Metal, Death Metal, Heavy Metal and many more. So there will be songs different from what one hears, but always with the Kawaii side that BABYMETAL is an expert in fusing.
Hey, which was the one with kind of a Latin American feel. I heard it once. Loved it. Forgot to bookmark it. Can't find it again. I think it's more contemporary. A post Yui kind of thing. Do you know the one I'm looking for?
@@nejpon Yea, thanks. Thanks a lot. I found it. Kind of. The original version I saw seems to be gone. Maybe some sort of copyright issue. Too bad. That was great. You really need to see the girls dance to make it work. The search wasn't a waste of a trip though. I found a full hour of just the Tico Tico Ting bit from the original. Fun. No concealing banner. Not a phone clip. Then there's this other video of some girl doing a cover of the Night Night Burn dance moves. Cute. Best of all though while looking for that I found a full hour concert of the METAL GALAXY World Tour in Japan. Really well done. I bookmarked it. Man, it looks like that was a great concert.
Whenever I hear this song, I always think "damn, this is such a beautiful chorus". I can't get over it. And it creates such a fascinating atmosphere, perfectly fitting the theme of the song (which is a recurring nightmare where the protagonist tries to escape from a dark enitity coming towards them).
Good react again! Su is The Queen, no more words! You need watch now Akatsuki or Amore live, are absolutely amazings!! And if you want to see only Yui and Moa(Black Babymetal), you must see Sis Anger live, is simply great! See you in the next!
Excellent reaction - and congratulations! You are officially now a member of the worldwide fanbase affectionately referred to by BABYMETAL as "THE ONE". Subscribed. More BABYMETAL please!! Arigatou! 🦊🤘 #notacult
Nice & welcome & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。In Budokan Black Night setlist, this is the 11th song out of 15 songs. In this show, Kamis' super plays were excellent enough as a main event, but once the 16-year-old girl (as of 2014) emerged from the underground, she colored everything differently and turned Kami Band's plays into a ritual to summon our Queen. This song has not been performed since 2017. I really want them to revive it like they did for NRNR, Akatsuki, OD, FDTD and GJ! this year at Budokan , the same venue in this video.
Nice reaction, thanks! Key Kobayashi (aka Kobametal or just Koba) is the man behind BABYMETAL's productions. And he doesn't joke about artistic or even technical aspects on their live performances. He's extremely picky and only hires the best musicians, technicians... you get the point :) He also discovered SU-METAL when she was 10 and she was in a girls group formed to sing songs for an anime. So, she's actually the main reason BABYMETAL ever exist. Her vocals, stage presence and the way she performs (no holding back) caused fans start calling her the Queen.
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! This song. This song right here. This song is the one that's most frequently my fav of the day/week/whatever of BABYMETAL songs (it changes pretty often as every single song of theirs is so great. I like some more than others, but none of then are bad songs!) It just ticks all of my personal tastes for music! I believe I read it in the comments of another reaction video, but someone once called this song a dark waltz and I fully concur. Lyrically, visually, and instrumentality this is arguably their darkest song. It tells if a girl being chased in the woods by some unknown dark figure. She tries to hide, but it always finds her. Eventually she cannot run any longer and pleads for it to show itself. And then she falls to the darkness. The working title of this song was "Kill the Alice". If that gives any insight into just how dark the lyrics really are. As others have said, this is one of 4 Su solos. Yui and Moa are off stage doing homework during this particular performance (iirc). Su gets her break during the time Yui and Moa (as a duo, known as Black BABYMETAL) take the stage for their songs. And yes, all of them take a break during the Kamiband intros. You gotta give it up for the Kamiband even more knowing they don't get breaks. Well, I guess they technically do, during brief videos that may play showing bits of lore related stuff before particular songs. For the next, I recommend a Black BABYMETAL. Sis Anger is my fave, but Song 4 (4 no Uta) from this same show is what I'm recommending (or both lol). Song 4 is the only song that was written in full (lyrically and maybe even the melody) by the girls, or Yui and Moa. It was on the bus between shows and Su challenged them to write a song about the "unlucky number 4" (4 is considered an unlucky number because it's pronunciation is the same as the Japanese word for death). They nailed it and (according to other fans' comments that I've read) sang it over and over enough that the producer decided to make it an actual song lol! Good stuff and looking forward to more! Kitsune dao! \m/
Even though I am Japanese, it was the first time I understood the double-meaning of "4 no Uta". They pronounced it as "yon," but they put their hands over their mouths in a "shi" pronunciation gesture to tell the audience to be quiet. The word "shi" means death in Japanese, which makes sense to me.
@@ヤマネユキオ right? I think that the ultimate message of the song is that it's just a number (even if the pronunciation is similar) and that even the sound of "shi" can and is associated with good or bad things....ultimately don't be overly superstitious. Maybe the "shi-ing" motion is to tell the audience to be quiet and listen closely? But in the cutest way possible of course! Lol
Hi Anastasia, If you don't know, BabyMetal are gonna take a break from activities, they're sealing their 10 Year Legend and ending the Metal Resistance chapter, we don't know how much time, so until then you keep enjoying BM songs and have fun, you have plenty of songs and fella kitsune here will help you. They also released a new official MV version of "The One" - Stairway To Living Legend", i know you didn't hear that song from 2nd album so when you consider yourself a BabyMetal fan you should hear it, is a beautiful love letter to fans.
Great reaction. Wonderful song and fantastic performance. You will find as you dive deeper into this band that all their songs are different and Su’s technique adapts to the song. She even raps. What does not change is their awesome stage presence, crowd interaction and joyousness.
Everything is choreographed - it's not a Babymetal thing, it's a Japanese thing. Also, I dare you to find two Babymetal songs that are the same. ;) Their support personnel (musicians, choreographer, etc) are hand picked from the best Japan has to offer. They are absolutely amazing. The intro here showcases the skill level of the members of the Kami band. As you saw it's quite high, to put it mildly. Fun fact: the intro is a ritual to summon the apostle of the Fox God, Su-metal on stage. ;) Privet from UK!
nice reaction. one of the things that make Babymetal standout from other bands is that none of their songs sound alike.... they fuse metal with almost any genre you can think of... if you want to check out their ballads, No Rain No Raibow from their Legend S concert is a must, or Akatsuki Unfinished from their Legend 1997 (the year of Sumetal's birth) concert is beautiful. 🤘🦊🤘
Good point about her "straight voice". I think there was an interview some time not too long ago where she was asked about the fact that she doesn't use much vibrato or overly dramatic vocal techniques and she gave a humble answer just saying that she isn't really that good at it but in reality I think that was just her wanting to politely say that she doesn't want to do vibrato etc and that for her style, she wants to pierce through the massive wall of sound that is going on while she sings and she does that so well. There are the kamis plus usually a backing track with keys/synths/screaming/ambience/layered vocals but live you can still very clearly hear her through all of that.
They definitely switch their sound up, as you will continue to discover. Absolutely love this performance! Su and the Kami Band completely owning it. Rondo of Nightmare is a vibe... I really like the dark, urgent, and ominous tone that is punctuated by moments of relative calm. Thank you for the reaction. 🦊🤘🔥🖤
I love your reactions!! Well .. I've been listening to metal for over 10 years and Babymetal became one of my favourite bands of all time !!! it's different from "traditional metal" but they are metal without any doubt, and they are great, especially for the added value to their live performances, it isn't just a concert, it is an experience and if there is one thing I have clear, it is that both the girls and the kami band always give their all in each concert. You have a world whole to discover, Babymetal are a genre by themselves, you'll see hehehe. Well greetings from Mexico !! /o/ PD: You should react the nect time to Megitsune or Papaya (MV) or Road of Resistance Live in japan :3
Good reaction! Please check out Akatsuki (Unfinished ver.) and Babymetal Death from the end of the Legend 1997 concert next. I posted links to high-quality uploads of those with English subtitles for the intro videos that they have in a reply to another comment; please use those if you react to these! Also, they played Headbanger right before these two songs at that concert, and together those three form an awesome sequence. I know you've already heard Headbanger though, so if you want to skip that or watch it without recording first before doing these two, that would be entirely reasonable.
Thanks for another amazing reaction to BABYMETAL!! I think now that you watched and listened to Su-metal on a solo song, you should listen/watch to the other 2 singers Moa-metal and Yui-metal on one of their Black BABYMETAL songs, so I would recommend to you BABYMETAL - Sis Anger, which in my opinion is their darkest song, instrumentally speaking (also my favorite BABYMETAL song xD). Thanks again!! 🤘🦊🤘
OMG! Nice!!! That is some guitaring, LOL! I feel like you about guitars. When I was a kid we had a lot of instrumentals featuring guitars, I actually miss that!
Hi, another great reaction deeper in the fox hole! I love your analytisis on the theatrical side. The producer is Koba-metal (Mr. Kobayashi, looks like he used to be a guitar player) >> If you love to hear another Su-metal’s great solo vocal, I recommend “Akatsuki (crimson moon) ”, at Budokan(theater name, to play there the band needs to be requested by this theater), Black Night (that concert tittle). Ah, the twin harmonizing guitar is stunning beautiful played by Leda Cygnus and Ohmura. (Kami (meaning god) band members are rotating).
Rondo Of Nightmare/With Mischief Of God Intro:- Babymetal:- Babymetal (Japanese: ベビーメタル, Hepburn: Bebīmetaru) (stylized in all caps) is a Japanese kawaii metal band. The band consists of Suzuka Nakamoto as "Su-metal" (Vocal and Dance) and Moa Kikuchi as "Moametal" (Scream and Dance). The band is produced by Kobametal from the Amuse talent agency. Their vocals are backed by heavy metal instrumentation, performed by a group of session musicians known as the "Kami Band" at performances. KamiBand:- "The KamiBand are the instrumentalists (or backing band) in BABYMETAL - Each member is a "god (Kami) of music" summoned by The Fox God stage by stage. All the Kamis have their own jobs and side-projects in addition to BABYMETAL". Current Members Who Perform At Nippon Budokan:- •Takayoshi Ohmura (Guitar, ESP SNAPPER-7/R Gold & Twinkle Pink). •Leda Cygnus (Guitar, ESP BLUE CUSTOM). •Daisuke 'BOH' Bohte (Bass, ATELIER Z BETA 6, Boh'S CUSTOM 6). •Aoyama Hideki (Drums, YAMAHA Signature Drum Kit). BABYMETAL is the youngest act to perform at the Budokan and artists need to be invited to perform there. Live at Budokan: Red Night & Black Night Apocalypse (stylized as LIVE AT BUDOKAN ~RED NIGHT & BLACK NIGHT APOCALYPSE~) is the third live video release by the Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal. It contains two concerts performed at Nippon Budokan shortly after the release of the band's eponymous debut album, and was released on January 7, 2015 in a standard edition and a limited-edition box set exclusively for "The One" fanclub members. Nippon Budokan:- Nippon Budokan (日本武道館, Nippon Budōkan), often shortened to simply Budokan, is an indoor arena located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. Originally built for the inaugural Olympic judo competition in the 1964 Summer Olympics, its name translates as Martial Arts Hall in English. While its primary purpose is to host martial arts contests, the arena has gained additional fame as one of the world's most iconic musical performance venues. A number of famous rock music acts have played at Budokan. The Beatles were the first rock group to play there in a series of concerts held between June 30 and July 2, 1966. ABBA ended their last tour there. Their final show on March 27, 1980, was the last live concert ABBA performed together. Numerous acts have recorded live albums at Budokan, including Bryan Adams, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Cheap Trick, Dream Theater, Duran Duran, Kiss, Mr. Big, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Journey and Deep Purple. According to the announcement, Babymetal will disappear on Oct. 10 after all 10 chapters of Metal Resistance are complete. To celebrate 10 years of Babymetal, the group have released a book, a greatest hits album and performed a number of 10th anniversary shows. A live vinyl series also is planned along with a new live album and DVD called 10 Babymetal Budokan. Babymetal’s website claims the band will end their 10th anniversary plans on Oct. 10 before embarking on their “Stairway to Living Legend.” A new revelation from the Fox God revealed Babymetal’s upcoming hibernation period: Sunday, October 10th, 2021… Together with all 10 episodes of METAL RESISTANCE coming to a close, the 10-year legend will be sealed from the world. Until that seal is broken, BABYMETAL will disappear from our sight. Time is running out. There is no eternity in God’s descent. Babymetal’s most recent album, Metal Galaxy, was released in late 2019. Babymetal had completed their 2020 tour of Europe just days before COVID-19 shut down the live music industry. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬. #notacult
Mikiko Mizuno does the choreography and stage production. She also did the ceremonies for for the Tokyo Olympics and the group Perfume as well. Su isn't as choreographed as she looks. Mikiko has said in interviews that Su is crazy, she constantly changes stuff up during a performance. She will do something on stage, and after the performance Mikiko would tell Su "I loved that thing you did." And Su answers "what did I do?" She says Su just feels the music Su also has a lovely vibrato. The only time I have heard it is when she does sound checks, but it is quite nice. Never in a performance.
As far as I know, Mikiko only does their choreography, not their stage production. Also while Mikiko has said that Su has a natural talent for dance and performance, and that she often draws (or drew; this was an old interview) inspiration for the choreography from the improvisation that the girls would do when first hearing a song, I don't recall her saying anything about Su improvising _on stage_, at least not during a performance. Anastasia was absolutely correct when she said that this is all choreographed - Su does those same movements every time she performs Rondo. The difference with Rondo (and all of Su's solos) is that she choreographs them herself, not Mikiko.
She does have an extraordinary ability to sustain a long clear note sans vibrato. And her holding pitch is really, really good. However, Su- often uses vibrato in performances. She seems to me to have more control than is usual. Often she will bring in a touch of vibrato at the end of a long ending note (many singers do this). Like the "Hashire" at the end of Karate (thinking particularly of the Download 2016 performance) as an example. And she can apply a narrow subtle vibrato or full-on (but not ever so wide you could drive a truck through it). I think she uses it so naturally and so in keeping with the song that one does not usually notice. The studio recording of Megitsune is another great example of her vibrato just as she was first coming in to her adult voice. She was encouraged to do the song in a more Japanese Enka style which often uses a heavy wide vibrato for (melo)dramatic effect. She does not actually really sound very enka to me, but she was also not yet 15 when it was recorded. Su-'s natural vibrato is more subtle and I agree it is a beautiful thing. Listen for it and you will hear it throughout the catalog even on some of the old songs.
I've been a subscriber for a while now and never commented until now! Absolutely adore Babymetal - I just wanted to let you know that you really should check out Su's other solo songs - 'No Rain no Rainbow' - 'Amore' and 'Akatsuki' - you won't be disappointed - although keep on stopping it to comment as they are super strong on copyright! Keep em coming and take good care of yourself!
YOU ASKED HOW SU-METAL HAS SUCH INCREDIBLE STAMINA WHEN SHE SINGS AND DANCES . THE WORD IS WHEN SHE'S REHEARSING THE LYRICS SHE ALSO RINS ON A TREADMILL AT THE SAME TIME . OUR QUEEN 👑 IS A VERY SMART LADY .
Thank you for Watching the Live Concert video, It is so much better than the compilations. There are a lot of epic Babymetal performances that you could check out, from Black Babymetal (Only Yui and Moa), to Moa-Bangerrr (Headbangerr but it's Moa-Metal) to the recent BxMxC song. Honestly please check them all out. I can't recommend particulars lol, all of them are amazing!
Really like your reacts. Maybe try 'The First Take - Megitsune' if you really want to hear Sumetal show off her voice. It's pretty special. Actually lots of good stuff on 'The First Take'. Lisa - Gurenge or Homura are pretty insane too. Bring some tissues.
Okay. Since you love good performances. You REALLY need to react to Road of Resistance - Live in Japan. You'll see, it's OUTSTANDING. ruclips.net/video/zTEYUFgLveY/видео.html
Still, this was early 2014, take into account that Su was only 16 in here, she still didn't have the singing technique she has now. She was already really good for a 16 year old though. And on the stage, Mikiko designs it. Mikiko is both the choreographer and designer in Babymetal. She is something big, she organized the Rio olympics closing ceremony and was going to do the same for the Japan opening but something weird happened once they got delayed, that's another story. So, yeah, this Budokan concert stage was indeed dangerous. Su didn't, but Yui fell from the stage on that concert and the audience got very worried for her. Nothing happened luckily and she returned for the next song.
Three songs you need to react to Since you play piano you should enjoy 2 more Su solos First No Rain No Rainbow(also has some guitar solos you should love) Second song is the unfinished version of Akatsuki(maybe double reaction with the finished version) Third since you grew up in theater you should also react to BabyMetal Death it's very theatrical
I would like to second the suggestions for Akatsuki (Unfinished ver.) and Babymetal Death. The normal version of Akatsuki is also awesome, but I would rather she do a double reaction of the two songs I just mentioned, since they were performed back-to-back at Legend 1997 and are absolutely amazing together. Anastasia, please use the links below! These songs have intros in Japanese, and not all the uploads have English subs. Akatsuki (Unfinished ver.) ruclips.net/video/a7KIh9UQghA/видео.html Babymetal Death ruclips.net/video/VE34mRpi6Qk/видео.html
Oh yes every single movement SU-METAL makes she considers, rehearses and selects. Her choreographer is the legendary Mikiko or Mikikometal who she has worked with most of her professsional life and her description of Su's ability to understand lyrics/songs and translate them into movement is incredible. And BABYMETAL was 10/11 - she was with ASH (Acting School Hiroshima from 8 as a singer/dancer and actress. This is where her heroes Perfume came from as did Mikiko. And she was modelling starting around 3! She has spent her life on stage).
It is common for the kamiband to get to do an extended intro where the rotate through solo performances. The intro is titled Mischief of the Metal Gods and is not actually a part of the song.
Great reaction! I am Japanese and can barely understand English, but I found your English to be very beautiful. It is the kind of comfortable English that I would like to listen to forever. Sumetal is a great singer. However, in Japan, there are many singers around her age who are more powerful, skilled in singing, beautiful, and unique. I wondered what Sumetal's appeal is, and I feel that the most attractive thing about her is the comfort of her voice.
"I didn't expect that" ha ! That's what Babymetal does ! 😃 Some call this song waltz-metal, which is a great way to look at it (in reality it falls in the progressive metal genre).
Every song with Babymetal is challenging Your mind! Should post this sooner but I think You might like this link. It is Su-Metals in ear monitor sound when she sings: ruclips.net/video/nDao9r5knqc/видео.html If you like guitar... You have to react to Asterism but it is a instrumental group. Begin with their earliest: Rising Moon. MV has the best sound. Hal-Ca on guitar amazes me all the time with her guitar! And the bassplayer.. Oh my!
Just simple, when you see BABYMETAL video that has no tittle live at some place, it's compilation video. Because BABYMETAL production is amazing and will be blocked by RUclips. You can see more more BABYMETAL live in one show in Babymetal reactor resource (RUclips Channel) , but it has watermark on it. And every BABYMETAL song is different, you can check BABYMETAL - Onedari Daisakusen live at Budokan Black Night. It's song after this performance. Good Reaction🤘🦊
Nice reaction. Babymetal is very much about switching things up. The very premise of the band is based on switching things up. So one of the fun parts of Babymetal is not knowing what comes next. Friendly advice don't try to figure it out. Just be surprised like the rest of us. lol So the running joke about this performance was Yui and Moa were doing their homework while Su was performing. And later Black Babymetal AKA Yui and Moa, AKA MoiMoi performed Su did her homework. They were still in grade school so who knows maybe it's true. No rest for the weary as they say. Su's performance here was amazing. This shows why folks say Su is 10' tall on stage. Imagine finding your calling at 12 years old and being able to actually do it. They've been blessed.
I don't know, why this is so underrated in the reacting community.... In my opinion, one of the best songs from Babymetal is " road of resistance - live in Japan "
Her hand and arm movements (not holding) the mic is all Su-metal. The girls' dance coordinator has once commented that even she doesn't know how Su comes up with her movements.
Their are actually only two venues where they have a circular stage: Budokan (which is this show) and Tokyo Dome (for which the stage is like a tribute to the Budokan stage).
The kami band just play with BabyMetal. They had the western kami band touring with them 2018. The kami bands have their own band. the eastern kami band might be looking for a lead singer.
Excelente!!! Beautyful song about a girl lost in darkness with a unknow entity . Great display of talent. Queen SuMetal and KamiBand . Please check another SuMetal`s solo : Akatsuki . from the same show . same energy , same dark metal .
Suzuka hasn't been doing this since she was ten years old..... she's been doing it since she was four!!!! She grew up in show business. This stuff comes as naturally as breathing to her.
FYI Suzuka Nakamoto ( Su-Metal ) started her singing and acting career at the tender age of 6 years old. Also in Japan, Singers, actors, and those in the entertainment business. Have a hard living. Idols very seldom get paid for their concerts.
One thing you'll also note about this song, outside the fact that it is probably their darkest song in their catalog... is that when you get to the chorus, it's in a 3/4 time signature, putting the entire song into a WALTZ. Most people tend to just think of 4 beats in a measure from hearing the kickdrum and snare, and think 1,2,3,4, but when you hear the rhythm and cross that with Su's dancing, it is clearly a waltz. It's that classical waltz element that makes this song, along with something like Orion by Metallica as grand as they are.
This was Su's first solo, Yui and Moa also perform as Black BabyMetal. It's an opportunity for the others to rest while Su performs alone, then she rests while Black BabyMetal is onstage. They do showcase the band in concert. They usually open with 4 or 5 songs then take off backstage to take a break and check their costumes. While they are backstage the band usually takes over for a few minutes allowing them their break and keeping the crowd hopping.
Nice reaction👊🏽⚡️It’s nice to see a reactor who recognizes the work that Babymetal puts in. One of a kind. Su was a model at age 5. On stage singing by age 7.. She has as much or more stage experience than Michael Jackson at the same age of 23. She may have also played to more people than he did by age 23.
You should use the links from the BABYMETAL Reactors Resource RUclips channel. Also if you like guitars react to Steve Vai Tender Surrender official video
Every single musician in this band is among the very most technically proficient at their instrument who ever walked the earth. It's a weird thing to say, but I challenge anyone to argue. And they just happen to all be in the same band who came out of nowhere, with marketing and production that is stunning to the point of complete shock and awe.
If the stage here at their first Budokan shows impressed you, just wait until you have a chance to see some of their performances at the Tokyo Dome. The stage in those shows seemed like they took the Budokan stage and dialed it up to 11.
Please do a reaction to this as well: BABYMETAL - Headbanger!! 『へドバンギャー!! 』(MOAMETAL ver.) | Moabanger ♥ [4K] It is a special version for Moa's birthday, and you mentioned the movement - this is the 12:th song they performed that night, and you know how much they jump and move throughout each song, especially the 2 supporting baby metal members. And then please tell me if this is impressive or not.
It's such a shame that they don't do the Kami band stuff anymore (intro). I was at one show in Japan where they had a bridge between the main stage and a stage in the center of the crowd, which they could raise and lower. At one point Su wlaked along it and stopped and then they raised the bridge about 20ft up in the air with her on it, as she carried on singing. If you like guitar stuff and a great singer you should try Unlucky Morpheus. If you go for the popular one that would be Black Pentagram, but if you want to see the singer really go for it then either "Dignity of Spirit" or "Tower of Blood" both are live. The singer is one of the most sort after female metal singers to work with in Japan. Unlucky Morpheus - Dignity of Spirit ruclips.net/video/x7W9DcUKY_U/видео.html
When I was still trying to learn guitar (admittedly many years ago now) it had the highest drop-out rate of any musical instrument. It sure isn't easy. What this video shows is musicians who laugh at the idea of difficult and directly take on nearly impossible as a snack.
Su is actually less choreographed than you think! During her solo's I understand that she is free and she does what she feels like. The instrumental intro with SU emerging from the middle, it looks like a ritual to summon queen SU :D They don't always do circular stages, they change quite often: they did a triangular shaped one, they did a stage with 3 platforms in middle of the audience with bridges to them that were lifted or dropped during the show, they did a massive circular one for the Tokyo dome, they do square and circular stages that move towards the audience and come back. You are right assuming that this solo usually come towards the middle of the performance to give the girls a break, and after the instrumental opening there is the SU solo, and usually after that there is a Duo song from the other 2 girls (YUI and MOA) to let SU rest a bit. Lately they kinda do shorter shows so they almost stopped doing the instrumental intros and the solo songs, even thought they brought back some of that at the recent Budokan shows.
15:10 most of their choreography are actually created based off their natural reaction to the music, so it's not that hard for them to follow. For non-choreographed movements you can check out Kagerou - live in 2018 (dark time era when they wear amazon princess armor suits) where it was still haven't completed yet and it was a Su's solo. The most stand out eye-catching choreo in Su's solos probably Amore - with this song you can really tell she's feeling the music and her movements are so fitting with it
This was old BabyMetal. This is when they featured their Kami band. Since 2019 they havent featured the Kami band the same sadly. Still a Great band/project but the Kami musicians are no longer an equal bill with the remaining 2 girls.
There's an extended Kami Band intro for 'Kagerou' performed in 2019 and 2020. It's true that they haven't performed either 'Catch Me If You Can', or 'Rondo of Nightmare' since 2017, two songs that often had Kami Band solos before the song. I agree they have focused on the Kami Band much less the last couple of years, but there has never been a time when the Kami Band were on an equal bill with the BABYMETAL members. That's never been the structure of this group.

Great info.....thanks
Just to add, the Budokan featured heavily in this year's Tokyo Olympics as well, some (if not most) of the martial arts competitions took place there. It was great to watch the karate fights being conducted there and to see the arena in a quite different configuration. It's also perfect for sumo tournaments.
If you google 'live at budokan', the first hits to show up are Dream Theater, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, and Ozzy Osbourne who each (among many more artists) dedicated entire live albums to this venue. It's just that revered, and by far not only by Japanese artists.
Fun fact: Moa and Yui were doing homework while Suzuka was trying to escape a demon that was chasing her
Great observation on Su's vocals.

And… that's why we made Su-metal our queen at 16 years old. : )
Her voice is even better now that she's 23.
@@xempla Night Night Burn
Yes, yes! I've been waiting for this reaction! Thank you very much! )) Listen to the Akatsuki song, please )
If you look carefully, you will find that their stage is a magic circle. In their past shows, about 10 different magic circle patterns have been used.
He's extremely picky and only hires the best musicians, technicians... you get the point :)
He also discovered SU-METAL when she was 10 and she was in a girls group formed to sing songs for an anime.
I have to believe they will be back and this is just a break to work on something new and maybe add a permeant third for a new chapter
Incredible musicians.
Babymetal - Akatsuki ... Another eargasm for you....
Also, I dare you to find two Babymetal songs that are the same. ;)
Their support personnel (musicians, choreographer, etc) are hand picked from the best Japan has to offer. They are absolutely amazing. The intro here showcases the skill level of the members of the Kami band. As you saw it's quite high, to put it mildly. Fun fact: the intro is a ritual to summon the apostle of the Fox God, Su-metal on stage. ;)
Privet from UK!
nice reaction. one of the things that make Babymetal standout from other bands is that none of their songs sound alike.... they fuse metal with almost any genre you can think of... if you want to check out their ballads, No Rain No Raibow from their Legend S concert is a must, or Akatsuki Unfinished from their Legend 1997 (the year of Sumetal's birth) concert is beautiful.
PD: You should react the nect time to Megitsune or Papaya (MV) or Road of Resistance Live in japan :3
This is by far the hardest working band in metal. I've seen them live 4 times now and it is unbelievable EVERY time!!!
I know you've already heard Headbanger though, so if you want to skip that or watch it without recording first before doing these two, that would be entirely reasonable.
great reaction & analysis
gotta do "AMORE" next , won't dissapointed
How do you follow that Kami band intro bring out Queen Su . One hell of a performance from a 16 year old .
🤘🦊🤘❤
Kobayashi, looks like he used to be a guitar player)
>> If you love to hear another Su-metal’s great solo vocal, I recommend “Akatsuki (crimson moon) ”, at Budokan(theater name, to play there the band needs to be requested by this theater), Black Night (that concert tittle). Ah, the twin harmonizing guitar is stunning beautiful played by Leda Cygnus and Ohmura. (Kami (meaning god) band members are rotating).
Rondo Of Nightmare/With Mischief Of God Intro:-

Their vocals are backed by heavy metal instrumentation, performed by a group of session musicians known as the "Kami Band" at performances.
KamiBand:-
"The KamiBand are the instrumentalists (or backing band) in BABYMETAL - Each member is a "god (Kami) of music" summoned by The Fox God stage by stage. All the Kamis have their own jobs and side-projects in addition to BABYMETAL".
Current Members Who Perform At Nippon Budokan:-
•Takayoshi Ohmura (Guitar, ESP SNAPPER-7/R Gold & Twinkle Pink).
Nippon Budokan:-
Nippon Budokan (日本武道館, Nippon Budōkan), often shortened to simply Budokan, is an indoor arena located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan.

Lyrics Overview:-
"Rondo Of Nightmare (悪夢の輪舞曲; Akumu No Rondo)"

The waning moon has lit up
the insanity rampant in the shade
The laughter resounds around
It bares its fangs and its eyes gleam
I can’t escape from it
It flickers slowly
appearing and disappearing in my mind
A nightmare rondo is being repeated
The awakening light
is gone far away out of my sight
I can do nothing but run
through the darkness
In the woods, in the fountain
I hide myself holding my breath
but it’s still coming closer to me
A stagnant voice. An endless night
Ah…
If I can no longer get out of here
won’t you show me your figure?
It flickers slowly
appearing and disappearing in my mind
A nightmare rondo is being repeated
The awakening light
is gone far away out of my sight
I can do nothing but fall
into the darkness
BABYMETAL TO ‘DISAPPEAR’ FOR UNSPECIFIED PERIOD OF TIME:-
Babymetal have posted a new mysterious announcement, likely signaling the next era for the J-pop/metal act.
10 before embarking on their “Stairway to Living Legend.”
A new revelation from the Fox God revealed Babymetal’s upcoming hibernation period:
Sunday, October 10th, 2021…
Together with all 10 episodes of METAL RESISTANCE coming to a close,
the 10-year legend will be sealed from the world.
She will do something on stage, and after the performance Mikiko would tell Su "I loved that thing you did." And Su answers "what did I do?" She says Su just feels the music
Su also has a lovely vibrato. The only time I have heard it is when she does sound checks, but it is quite nice. Never in a performance.
Hi Dean. She did not do the Tokyo Olympics. She was replaced by someone else.
@@mrarvind1606 i think it was another early Olympics she did but she did drop out of recent Olympics
🤔
@@martinmetal7481 She was in charge of the artistic part of the handing over ceremony for Rio 2016.

Great reaction!!, react to babymetal - Ataksuki live budokan 2014

Babymetal - road of resistance live in japan is waiting you to react
This is very awesome and make many people goosebumps, can't wait you to react it
Oh yes every single movement SU-METAL makes she considers, rehearses and selects.
I’m sad to hear about the break. Hopefully it doesn’t last long. I love baby metal and watching you listen. Thank you!! 😍
yessss, loving it! Keep up the Babymetal reviews
Thank for more Reactions!
It is common for the kamiband to get to do an extended intro where the rotate through solo performances. The intro is titled Mischief of the Metal Gods and is not actually a part of the song.
Yeah, this is actually one of their best. Glad you liked it
Great reaction!
This song is a straight up metal musical aria to be blasted just before the climax of the most intense story ever.
Finally, a non compilation video!
"I didn't expect that" ha ! That's what Babymetal does ! 😃
Some call this song waltz-metal, which is a great way to look at it (in reality it falls in the progressive metal genre).
SUMETAL - Nakamoto Suzuka - the Metal Goddess!!!
Great reaction... You should check another solo song from Suzuka : Alatsuki, Amore, No Rain No Rainbow
Привет красотка!) Большое спасибо за реакцию! По-моему пока Сузука выступала, Моа и Юи делали домашнее задание)
Great reaction An :)
As piano player try One and No Rain No Rainbow
When you were describing why she would get dizzy, I started to get dizzy. 😂
PAPAYA..
Their are actually only two venues where they have a circular stage: Budokan (which is this show) and Tokyo Dome (for which the stage is like a tribute to the Budokan stage).
I've seen Yes in the round and ZZ Top as well. Neither was in Japan.
@@Gary-Ellis Sorry, I meant 2 venues where Babymetal performed on a circular stage.
The kami band just play with BabyMetal. They had the western kami band touring with them 2018. The kami bands have their own band. the eastern kami band might be looking for a lead singer.
Nice!!! Next Babymetal - Road of Resistance Live in Japan and Ijime Dame Zettai Live at Sonisphere 2014 please 🤘🦊🤘
《megitsune》live please!
This stuff comes as naturally as breathing to her.
jewel drop :)
FYI Suzuka Nakamoto ( Su-Metal ) started her singing and acting career at the tender age of 6 years old. Also in Japan, Singers, actors, and those in the entertainment business. Have a hard living. Idols very seldom get paid for their concerts.
wow! you really got into this intro the look on your face is priceless
Waiting for your babymetal reactions (karate, the one, syncopation, kagerou, shine.....).. there are not of this world.
SU-METAL sings on a 20 meter high stage at Tokyo Dome
Nice reaction👊🏽⚡️It’s nice to see a reactor who recognizes the work that Babymetal puts in. One of a kind. Su was a model at age 5. On stage singing by age 7.. She has as much or more stage experience than Michael Jackson at the same age of 23. She may have also played to more people than he did by age 23.
You should use the links from the BABYMETAL Reactors Resource RUclips channel.
Also if you like guitars react to Steve Vai Tender Surrender official video
Road to Resistance!!🤗🤘
My damn, the funk in that bass!
神バンド凄いでしょ!
Queen Su、鼻腔共鳴!
And keep in mind that Su is in her 16 here. That's crazy.
I think we can all agree that Takayoshi Ohmura shredding his guitar is sexy AF 😍
Whenever we listen to Baby Metal we are not quite sure how to interpret the impressions - and that is great!
You would love Kagerou!! One of their best songs!!
React to “Megutsune” but dub. The song and the message are amazing.
Your videos are great they wunderkind love you in Japan they would love your vibe and singing style
Please do a reaction to this as well: BABYMETAL - Headbanger!! 『へドバンギャー!! 』(MOAMETAL ver.) | Moabanger ♥ [4K]
It is a special version for Moa's birthday, and you mentioned the movement - this is the 12:th song they performed that night, and you know how much they jump and move throughout each song, especially the 2 supporting baby metal members.
I call them EAR-gasms... I get them all the time when I watch or listen to Babymetal
You should hear/watch Megitsune either live or video, it's awesome!!!!
Su is actually less choreographed than you think!
During her solo's I understand that she is free and she does what she feels like.
The instrumental intro with SU emerging from the middle, it looks like a ritual to summon queen SU :D
They don't always do circular stages, they change quite often: they did a triangular shaped one, they did a stage with 3 platforms in middle of the audience with bridges to them that were lifted or dropped during the show, they did a massive circular one for the Tokyo dome, they do square and circular stages that move towards the audience and come back.
Next reaction of baby metal, please be Yava
it's time to enjoy BABYMETAL - Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (OFFICIAL)
