Believe it or not, this is Su's first attempt at a rap-style delivery (let's not count the few seconds in Ii-ne). The studio version was heavily auto-tuned as a stylistic choice so people doubted whether or not this would ever be performed live. I remember that before BxMxC mv, I spent about two weeks watching all the BxMxC fancams in 2020 and replayed them many times. What I like the most is the part where there is only Su’s singing and no music.
I hadn't listened to this song in a few months, and that acapella rap section just gave me some serious chills as if I'd never heard it before a million times. For a moment I'd forgotten how great Babymetal is.
Your reaction to Su rapping at 4:58 is amazing. You were literally blown away by that sequence and by Su's ability. It's nice to see such a genuine reaction and appreciation of her talents. You said, "I need to practice more", and I have a feeling that Su would appreciate that compliment so much, inspiring another female singer to work harder. Hopefully they return to us soon 🤘🦊🦊🦊🤘
Ah your first taste of today's Babymetal. All of your reactions up until now have been older performances. I'd really recommend you check out some more of the songs from Metal Galaxy, the latest album. They did some really fun experimental stuff with it, and Su-metal's voice has really matured. There's several songs on this album that I think teenage Su-metal could not have pulled off. In particular, I'd recommend Brand New Day, Night Night Burn, and Shanti Shanti Shanti.
Great reaction. I was lucky enough to see them do this one live. I was 8-10 feet from Su and she absolutely nailed it. A very impressive performer. They all are, but Su is very special.
Oh yeah! I lost my sh!t they first time I heard this track. It wasn’t on the international release just the Japanese release, I saw a fan cam from London I think, holy shit this slaps live. This song is 2 years old now I probably listened to it everyday for the first 100 days, and it’s great seeing others appreciate it as much as I do. Great reaction. kitsunes up
Great reaction, thanks! When this song came out I was one of those who were very skeptical about this song. But then they performed it live and I changed my mind. Su kills it. She totally owns the stage and the whole freaking venue. Someone give her the keys, please! hehe... She's called the Queen for a good reason :)
When I first listened to this song, which was not in the global version of Metal Galaxy, I was "damn, this is gold, but no way she's going to perform this live!" Then we got one blurry fancam from MG Legend, the first time she sang BxMxC and I was 🤯. She almost 😂 during the solo as she surprised herself with a really high note. So not to twist the knife, but BxMxC was the "main dish" in the EU leg of their 2019/20 World Tour which unfortunately ended in February due to the pandemic. I missed their date in Copenhagen and was going for Warsaw but it never happened 😔. They are very proud of BxMxC as they chose this song for their performance on the Japanese National TV Broadcast NHK. 🤘🦊⚡
I was also an idiot who doubted how it would be performed live because it had so many effects on the album version... but Su-metal delivers it even many times better live !
love your reaction to this song. we dont call her Queen Su for nothing. you are so right. she is so much better than 90% of the rappers here it is embarrassing for them. this song is just so much energy. i am starting to see you have a girl crush on our Queen. lol. but you still ain't seen nothing yet of what this band and Su can do. my suggestion now is Karate live from Download 2016. FYI Su's birthday is coming up, December 20th. she will be 24 years old. keep going on your journey. i love your reactions.
Seen it performed at The Apollo in London 2020 it nearly took the roof of the venue audience went nuts . It was great fun watching you react to this especially when you did not want to pause but wanted to say something 🤣 . This is why she is our Metal Goddess . 🤘❤🤘🦊
I had a friend in the UK and he went to a babymetal concert for the first time on Apollo, he always thought that su lipsing, but when he came home to the concert he told me that su is amazing, especially when the BMC song from start to finish gave his goose bumps
@@martinmetal7481 Yeah, man, I know for a fact, I'm a big, big babymetal fan, though I've never been to their concert, Because it's so rare that they do concerts in my country,, concerts in my country are being canceled because of this fucking covid, it makes me very sad
@@theotherone4156 seen them at Brixton and caught last show before lockdown at Apollo London was going to see them at Download and hopefully get tickets to the 10 year anniversary show in Japan but Covid put paid to that ☹
Do you know the group: Bring Me the Horizon? Babymetal is featured on their song Kingslayer. Think your mind's blowing now wait till you hear this song.
Great reaction, did you realize that her low register voice even matched and not overpowered by 9 strings guitars? completely in synced. Keep the good work and keep them coming!
God you are so beautiful, and watching you react to this song is just unreal. I’m smashing the like button! BxMxC is one of my favorites and I’m heavy metal through and through. There’s something about Su and what she can do is unexplainable.
I’ve seen this performed live four times and it’s an absolute banger live. She knocks the crazy vocal gymnastics bit in the middle right out of the park. Live. She doesn’t rely on on the backing for it. I was close enough to her in Glasgow to be able to see that she was singing it live.
⚡ 💕 / 🕶 🎤 🍗 That's great. You had some really sharp observations. Su-metal drops into a lower register in 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!', but it's not sustained for nearly as long as it is for this song. I'm not a Japanese speaker, but it sounds like (and Japanese fans have confirmed) that her pronunciation while singing is really clear. Although BABYMETAL started when Su was 12 years old, she joined her first pro group at 10 years old. She was the youngest member of the JPop trio Karen Girl's, which started in 2008. Su passed the audition, and was admitted to Actors School Hiroshima (ASH) to study singing and dancing when she was 8. She had been modeling since she was 3, and won her first big modeling contest the next year. Even then, her dream was to be a singer.
Rick : You are right. Su's pronunciation is very very clear compared to other Japanese female vocalists. That is one of the reasons I admire her (and oimatsu0531 as well). One exception is "Doki Doki Morning" that is fast like a tongue twister and includes special jargons used by young girls 😄 。
@@flugelhornoldman1362 'Doki Doki ☆ Morning' sounds like a challenge for sure. Su even got the line "Shuugoo shuugoo. Hookago shuugoo." (Gathering. Gathering. Gathering after school.") changed from something that was even harder to sing quickly. : )
I‘ve noticed this as well. I don‘t listen to that much Japanese music, but often when I come across it, it sounds so „slurred“ to me that it‘s almost hard to recognize it as Japanese, especially when it‘s Rap music. I was pretty surprised to realize that, as I thought the Japanese language should work pretty well for Rap, because of the relatively steady sequence of alternating consonants and vowels. But apparently it takes a genius like Su to give it both a nice flow and clarity.
@@MacTaipan Hi Taipan : Year, Su's talent is incredible. In addition, it seems to me songwriters are creating lyrics inspired by her talent. That is a kind of vehicle to convey certain messages (whether serious or playful, whether straightforward or allusive) in a elaborated manner, that is total lyrics constructed by clear words of her voice. There are different approaches to lyrics. For example, Band-Maid. I love Saiki's voice and the pronunciation of single sound coming out of her mouth is clear but difficult to understand the lyrics as sentence or message (except for slow songs). It is too fast and too many words sprinkled with English phrases to catch. I can understand them only when I read lyrics line by line separately. I believe Miku's songwriting style is to make the total lyrics catchy and rhythmical to ears by filling a number of information. (The messages of Miku's lyrics are interesting and good, though). As you may know I am not a cult guy, but Su's clear singing voice sounds like a oracle to me. I fully understand my Goddess's messages 😄 。
@@flugelhornoldman1362 Su-metal shared a little secret about Doki Doki Morning many many years ago in an interview: they changed the lines in the song because a certain part she couldn't pronounce (what was changes isn't mentioned). Which means even for her the song as it was written originally was not possible to record in the studio !
Hohoho, so you're into Dubstep Metal? Say no more! BabyMetal has you covered :D - "Uki Uki Midnight" live at Budokan 2014 - "Avemarie + Headbanger night of 15 mix" live at Legend 1997, it was the opener of that concert And if you want to hear SU flex a bit with her vocal ability, "Shanti, Shanti, Shanti" :)
This took the fucking roof off the hall when I saw them back in February 2020, Here's the best close-up view Queen Su killing it with BMC live, which really gets the power of her performance across in all its glory ( ruclips.net/video/BjNHAZAAQug/видео.html ). The MV is excellent too, in the style of a video game ( ruclips.net/video/ng8mh6JUIqY/видео.html ).
Love your reaction and your music; you have a GREAT voice! Since you've done a version of Ave Maria and love dub step, you need to check out Babymetal's opening for the Legend 1997 concert. It's celebrating Su's 16th birthday and opens with Ave Maria followed by a dub step version of "Headbanger". Keep on rockin' out!
Fantastic reaction!! BMC will forever and always stand for Bring Moa Chicken! 🐔🐔 I didn't care for this song too much when it was first released since someone must have fell asleep on the autotune button but, the first time I heard it live it blew my mind! I knew it would be a challenge to do it live but, Queen Su Goddess of all that is Metal made it look easy as usual. Kitsune Up! 🤘🦊🤘
Fantastic reaction to this, one of my faves at this point. And that's coming from a guy who generally dislikes most rap/hip-hop. A few notes: - Su has actually been on the stage performing almost since she could walk, so she's had probably close to twenty years of experience entertaining and working hard at her craft - She has actually raphopped before - in fact the earliest songs from Babymetal were very much in that vein (Doki Doki Morning and Iine [that's an 'i' - pronounced "ee-nay"]). But this is indeed the most complex and rapid-fire rapping. I'd recommend reacting to those two songs just for fun, and to see how far they've come. Also: Kawaiiiiiiii!!! I'd also recommend looking for the fancams of their smaller venue performances of this song. I've always felt that it has far more impact in a more close setting with the audience.
I hope you got your chance to see Babymetal on their North American tour. I got to see them in both Toronto and Vancouver. They are so great to see live. Babymetal forever!!! 🤘🦊🤘
As you pointed out in your reaction, Babymetal (Su and Moa) normally sing higher cleans with little or no vibrato (ok, I know there are exceptions), but Su and Moa can be heard, on occasion, to move in front of or behind the beat with their vocals. They will do this mostly when they sing over heavier, distorted and syncopated instrumentals. They do this to get some 'clean air' between the violent instrumental punches that would otherwise drown out their vocals. It's really clever. If you listen to Su's vocals in BMC you can hear her move seamlessly from being 'in time' with the beat, to being 1/4 in front or behind the beat (and this changes mid-flow when the instrumental attack changes). Su makes this look easy, so easy that most won't notice it. These vocals are not easy. Anastasia, I love your reactions. I enjoy watching reactors that are musicians themselves because they often provide a deeper insight than some other reactors. Keep your great reactions coming.
babymetal are winding up their 2023 u.s. tour next week. i hope you got to see them. BMC is a definite highlight from all the fan cam videos i've seen of the tour. i'm going to the final show on oct. 12 and this is one of the top 5 songs i'm anxious to hear.
I am a Japanese in my 60s. The part in the middle of the song where she sings without playing is similar to the old Japanese way of singing. I feel it is similar to the "rowkyoku" way of singing and the "katari" way of singing of the BiwaHowshi, who are traditional singers from 1000 years ago.
Thank you for mentioning those singing styles, do you have examples of what we can look up ? The way I see it Japanese fits rap-style very well, which seems to help with songs like this.
@@autohmae Japanese monk,Ippen(1239〜1289), Buddhist prayer-Odorinenbutsu= Dance Buddhism Buddhist incantation using chanting, drumbeating(beating dora) and dancing, playing guitar(playing Biwa, japanese guitar) + Japanese Fox god shrine ,anyway, that time inJapan,Kamakura period ,The Mongol invasion of Japan(1274,1281) There are many Ippen believers of samurai. for example,Ghost of Tsushima👍
If you want another dubstep metal from Babymetal from their very beginnings, I suggest you _Uki Uki Midnight._ FYI, they use a 9 Strings ESP E-II MF-9 Special Babymetal for this song, BxMxC.
Yeah it's crazy vocals. When I first heard the song. I figured they just slid her notes on a computer. But then seeing her sing it live was amazing. I just wonder did they slide her notes and she learned to sing it that way. Or this is just how it has always been.
Every time I listen to BxMxC, I always feel that Su’s singing has the style of singing ancient Japanese poems or ancient music or chanting in a temple.
Great reaction! I feel pretty much the same way. The studio version is much more electronicky, with lots of autotune and other effects on Su‘s voice. When I heard it for the first time, this song really surprised me, and I actually didn‘t really like it. But after a few listens I thought, „wait a minute, this is actually pretty awesome“. But I was convinced that they‘d never bring it to the stage. First of all, there wouldn‘t be much left once they took away the effects, and secondly, the sound is so badass, this little girl would look ridiculous performing it. I should have known that I was an idiot to think that. Su just replaced the effects with skill, and she looks absolutely legit doing those Hip Hop (or whatever) moves. I like the live version much better for that reason. Su is huge on stage. And in addition to that, I‘m very happy that they still manage to surprise me. After four years of being a fan I thought I had seen everything they had to offer, but I was so wrong. Now I‘m sure the next album will still leave me with my jaw on the floor. I‘m not a fan of Hip Hop either. In fact, BABYMETAL have done a whole lot of things I‘m usually not a fan of, that even includes dancing. But somehow it all turns into gold when they touch it. No idea how they are doing it, it‘s a phenomenon. The whole band is a phenomenon.
"Su is huge on stage." Suzuka off-stage humble 5 feet tall young woman. Su-metal on stage: 50 feet monster and I mean that in the best way possible. :-) The Fox God and messanger challenge everyone involved in Babymetal to create their best work. Everything the girls, and now young women, have done in Babymetal was a challenge/a training for the next part/something new for them to gain experience. At the end of 2015 when it was announced, Wembley Arena, new album before April, Tokyo Dome, it was a huge challenge before them. Paraphrasing Yuimetal: "I didn't think we were really for Tokyo Dome." and she was right but the experience they gained that year all added up and when Babymetal performed at Tokyo Dome they said (paraphrasing): "it's surprisingly a big crowd for us, our biggest show, so grateful everyone came to see us, but also a smaller venue then I would have imagined. And excited for the next step up."
@@autohmae I agree Su-metal is a monster and larger than life on-stage. Off-stage various websites have Suzuka's (now 24 yo) as height 158-160 cm (5' 3") and weight 43-47 kg (95-103 pounds). Such a powerful voice from a petite person is amazing.
The fact they left this song off the albums western release is a travesty. Su is just a top tier vocalist that I believe can cross multiple genres of music because of her dedication to the craft. I have many issues with the idol culture in Japan but every once in a while a true star is discovered.
Great reaction ! Really do think Babymetal is build to challenge Su-metal's talent to make her better and more experienced. Actually everyone involved in Babymetal is challenged in new ways and they create some of their best work. Diction is always has been Su-metal's specialty. She is amazing at pronunciation, she works and works and works on it. She is so dedicated she says she is still working hard on the song Megitsune, a song from 2012, to make it better.
Her english has also really improved, and you can tell in the newer songs. I'm constantly blown away by BM. I spend a lot of time on youtube and a lot of it is watching reactions of BM. Specially the very first reaction, and then do others they may have. It's such a joy to see people react the way I reacted to BM when I first heard it. Specially those who have the musical knowledge to understand what she's doing.
You said you like dubstep-y, then I assume you like Bring Me the Horizon? Did you know they collaborated with Babymetal with 'Kingslayer', it's an amazing f*cking song! Check them out if you haven't
B M C is one of my favorites . You would love Kagerou from the same show with a badass intro from the American tour Kami band . This is a great live version . ruclips.net/video/Hg3QsPI3x1M/видео.html
I totally agree with each and every word you're saying. I'm sorry I don't like metal at all, even more I don't like Kawaii ... but THIS SONG BLOWS ME AWAY like it did with you. For the very reasons you named. Unbelievable. This is one of my favourite songs ever. And that's from me who doesn't like metal or Kawaii ...
To me this su-metal is not a singer with an amazing voice (like wow), but I like her better than any singer, the reason is simple she sings with a wide range of genre blends with their basic metal and it sounds really amazing, Not only that, she singing with choreography and the sound never messed up, always stable clean tires even more good I know some bands do it in some of their songs, but she's in every fucking single song, Just blow my mind
You must know some details about Su. First of all, she speaks VERY fast by nature. Like a machine gun. At the age of 12, in a Japanese show, she was just a chatterer. In fact, she could speak 2 times faster than others. So in this regard, it is not difficult for her. And secondly, she took Rap lessons especially for this song, and mastered some techniques in order to perform well. This Su girl is very purposeful indeed. And she is ready to do a lot to improve her skills.
Great & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。This is a compilation from 2 shows in Jan. 2020 and March 2021 and audio source is also a mixture of the two. That means the music behind the girls are played by two bands : East (Japan) and West (USA) Kami Bands. Both are great ! Your selection is very timely, because Su-Metal's 24th birthday is coming soon (Dec. 20). I had thought the lyrics was a kind of word play being full of puns and rhyme, but I was wrong. One fan made me aware of its depth of the implication. Su is singing about some established style which used to be revolutionary and literally "stylish" but has turned already hackneyed or obsolete. The second line of the lyrics I read "Style breaks rhyme, Chaos provokes mosh" and the third line "Something like Metal Cypher breaking a rule, it is a Role, too". (Whose role it should be ?) Other lines of lyrics are also suggesting some kind of breakthrough or changes of the status-quo including notion of BABYMETAL itself. For example, what does the last line of the acapella means ? "Real-Fake speaking, Rusted Chain, Illusion" ... Team BM is creative and excellent.
Popz said he's got something planned. BritKpop Reacts may be doing something. I've been bugging him to react to Su's surprise appreciation party. Hopefully Cyneward too.

I was also an idiot who doubted how it would be performed live because it had so many effects on the album version... but Su-metal delivers it even many times better live !
I've always wondered how many rappers went back to the "drawing board", if you will, after hearing Su-Metal Rap!!!
Not enough are aware about BxMxC I think for that to happen.
love your reaction to this song. we dont call her Queen Su for nothing. you are so right. she is so much better than 90% of the rappers here it is embarrassing for them. this song is just so much energy. i am starting to see you have a girl crush on our Queen. lol. but you still ain't seen nothing yet of what this band and Su can do. my suggestion now is Karate live from Download 2016.
BxMxC is rap-metal and uses a custom 9 strings guitar, that is why the tone hits hard. This is Su-Metal first time rapping and she is spitting bars and this is why Su-Metal is versatile and can sing any genre given. This is the upgrade version of "Iine" which have rave and hip-hop influence. BxMxC reference is either Bring x Moa x Chicken or Baby x Metal x Cypher.

Omg when this song dropped I was shook at Su!! She is amazing, thanks for the great reaction ❤❤
⚡ 💕 / 🕶 🎤 🍗
That's great.
Hookago shuugoo."
(Gathering.
BabyMetal has you covered :D
- "Uki Uki Midnight" live at Budokan 2014
- "Avemarie + Headbanger night of 15 mix" live at Legend 1997, it was the opener of that concert
And if you want to hear SU flex a bit with her vocal ability, "Shanti, Shanti, Shanti" :)
Kitsune Up! 🤘🦊🤘
If you want more Babymetal dubstep check out Uki Uki Midnight or Headbanger (night of 15 mix)
Fantastic reaction to this, one of my faves at this point. And that's coming from a guy who generally dislikes most rap/hip-hop. A few notes:
- Su has actually been on the stage performing almost since she could walk, so she's had probably close to twenty years of experience entertaining and working hard at her craft
- She has actually raphopped before - in fact the earliest songs from Babymetal were very much in that vein (Doki Doki Morning and Iine [that's an 'i' - pronounced "ee-nay"]).

Haha I would like this twice if I could. Love this song too.
Yeah it's crazy vocals. When I first heard the song. I figured they just slid her notes on a computer. But then seeing her sing it live was amazing. I just wonder did they slide her notes and she learned to sing it that way. Or this is just how it has always been.
The live version changed my mind about this song. I didn't think I would like it. But I love it now.
You like dubstep then you will also like "Uki uki midnight".
Glad you came back to BM. Thought you'd quit on them for a minute. There's so much more talent to explore. Keep it up.
Every time I listen to BxMxC, I always feel that Su’s singing has the style of singing ancient Japanese poems or ancient music or chanting in a temple.
what do you mean Su-metal was walking around LIKE a Queen? She IS a QUEEN! :)
Very nice, honest, unfiltered reaction.
There's a pretty cool dubstep bit in their song Uki Uki Midnight!
SHE AIN'T CALLED GODDESS FOR NOTHING.
"Su is huge on stage."
Suzuka off-stage humble 5 feet tall young woman.
Su-metal on stage: 50 feet monster and I mean that in the best way possible.
:-)
The Fox God and messanger challenge everyone involved in Babymetal to create their best work.

SUZUKA THE QUEEN
To me this su-metal is not a singer with an amazing voice (like wow), but I like her better than any singer, the reason is simple she sings with a wide range of genre blends with their basic metal and it sounds really amazing,
Not only that, she singing with choreography and the sound never messed up, always stable clean tires even more good
