    I saw him live three times while he was living. Best concerts I've even attended. And I've been to a lot of concerts! I recommend "Tennessee Whiskey", "Rose Colored Glasses" "Bartender Blues"... Any of them really!!! LOL

    In my opinion, some of George's greatest hits are The Grand Tour, Things Have Gone to Pieces, Window Up Above, Still Doing Time, She Thinks I still Care, Tender Years, 50,000 Names and A Picture of Me Without You. Also his songs with Tammy Wynette Golden Rings, The Ceremony and Two Story House. 50,000 Names is a very touching tribute to the men who died in Vietnam and whose names are on the Wall. These songs are just some of the reasons that George Jones is a legend!

    I love this song. Some say it is the greatest country song ever. I would certainly place it in the top five. He did have one hell of a career.

    I enjoyed your reaction. As previously said, I have seen more than a few people miss the point of this song and I couldn't tell if you got out of it that he stopped loving her after all those years.... because he died. I know a real life situation like this and I cry when I hear it thinking of them

    This is often recognized as his best song. I'd suggest some others:
    The Grand Tour (another sad song)
    The One I Loved Back Then (The Corvette Song) a more light hearted song.
    White Lightin' (earlier in his career)
    Golden Ring (a duet with Tammy Wynette his wife and another country star)

    There is an amazing young black country artist that did a Cover of one of George Jones's songs called The Grand Tour.You don't have t react to it,but will do yourself a disservice if you don't hear it at least once.Just look it up and watch the video off camera and let me know what you thought of him.

    He does really upbeat stuff too. You should check out The Race is on, in that sing he has a guy name Johnny Paycheck on guitar (the live version in black and white from 1965). fun song.

    The studio version is far superior. I don't really like the live versions I've seen. This song makes me weep every time

      Well each time he did it live he’s most likely drunk or on cocaine which in this video he’s on cocaine you can tell by the way he acts when he talks in the beginning and he didn’t stop till the late 80s

    • @ColetonHall.
      @ColetonHall. Год назад

      Fun fact he was drunk when he recorded it

    • @donmunro144

      @@ColetonHall. fun question. When was he not drunk? Since they took the best parts of several recordings and combined them to make one song.
