I swear the "jealous moments" are the ones that make me ESPECIALLY angry, and all the comments under random cute videos of [member-of big-ship interacting with someone else] going "ohh [other-shipped-member] will be like welcome home cheater!!", "He did to make [other-shipped-member] jealous!!" "What about [ship] how would they feel? I want them together :(" which spirals into hating every person outside the ship, like these people are genuinely psychotic

I personally don't like shipping because it ruins relationships between groups and idols. And sometimes it's for the stupidest reasons, like "they looked at each other" or "bowed to each other". What's really weird is that some people write VERY inappropriate fanfics between idols who probably have never even talked or interacted in close ways. When I say VERY inappropriate I mean R18+ inappropriate. I think that thinking of idols in these ways is quite horrible and unhealthy and not to mention very disrespectful. I mean why can't they make their own characters? Why do they grab actual real people who have real feelings and toss them around like a random fictional character. Cute small shipping is fine, but not to the point when you are having all these delusional thoughts and thinking that those two idols are 100% in love.

Fanfiction is just fantasy though, there's nothing wrong with that. If you don't like it, don't read it. And it's a part of being a public figure to be fantasized about. Most fans are mature enough to keep fantasy and reality separated. It's just the rotten apples that ruin things.

@@shanamoens822 yeah i agree. most ship ffcs have like warnings that they are fictional and have nothing to do with actual people. For ffcs its honestly just the story for me. You wont believe how talented of writers some people are and it comes to the point where I forget that the main characters in the books are idols lmao im too invested in the story that i forget.

@@bericherrii I don't forget, I truly imagine them as I read the stories. But I do just see them as characters and know it's not in any way, shape or form a reflection on their real selves. And it should all stay within sites like AO3 and Wattpad. All the "analysis" videos you come across on RUclips are nuts and I can fully understand why it makes non-shippers frustrated. Same with on other sites that are not specifically for shipping. They never asked to come across anything to do with shipping, but sadly it's inevitable.

@@shanamoens822that's not my point, it's gross by writing these kinds of inappropriate fanfics you are sexualizing the idols. Like how would you feel if people wrote gross stories of you doing that kind of stuff? Let me just say it but K-pop idols are real people not some random fantasy fictional characters.

It's a very complex situation. But as someone who has been shipped with another person before by my friends, I can't begin to describe how uncormfortable I felt. I felt like I couldn't even look at the person without it being a whole thing. Especially when it comes to same sex. I am a girl into other girls, and I had just come out to those friends. So imedially being shipped with another friend made it an awkward and uncormfortable situation. Now, I am not saying that's how idols feel. I can't read their minds. And I can't force people to stop shipping others. But I really wish it could be less sexual, with fewer disgusting fanfiction, and just wholesome moments between two friends.

I think shipping Is ok as long as there are only funny videos or edits. Like saying two people might look good together Is not wrong. It becames very bad when It becames and i session, like, Always bring up the ship, even for the smallest things. Or the fanfictions.
But aslong Is Just: "yeah, WooSan married couple" or "Mingsung confirmed" as jokin or playful way, it's even funny and cute.
    Period.

I am a shipper. Though not one of those delusional ones that think the members they ship are meant to be together. That's stupid, especially with the same sex ships, the members are more than likely not even gay/bi. I also hate when shippers confront the members themselves with it. Like spamming their livestream chats with shipnames etc. No, just no. It's all about the fiction for me. I'm mature enough to keep fantasy and reality separated. And I'm sure there are a lot of decent shippers who just silently read/write fanfiction and just enjoy the chemistry between the members as it is. Sadly not all shippers are like that and ruin things for everyone else -_-'

yep thats how it is for me. I am a shipper but I just keep quiet and read ffcs and casually see some ship videos. But i dont comment about it on the internet or anything because thats when I feel like people that step out of the line to comment ship things to the public, are damaging relationships between idols and I dont want to feel responsible for ruining a relationship

    • @shanamoens822
      @shanamoens822 3 месяца назад

@@bericherrii Exactly, it can ruin the relationship between them, make things really awkward. To be honest, Kpop fans generally seem to always take things too far.
I recently got into Enhypen. I wouldn't call myself an engene yet, but I love their music, their talent and I absolutely fell for Sunoo. He's such a sweet individual. Gives me such 'must protect' vibes. There has been and still is a lot of speculation about the other members being mean to him. And not going to lie, some comments they have made towards him were mean in my opinion. But international fans need to understand that they have a completely different culture there. Anyway, other members, especially the youngest, Ni-ki received a ton of hate for it. And I'm like, why??? Because first of, we as fans don't know if those kind of comments even upset Sunoo. I did see one thing where he looked visibly upset, but with all the rest, there's no way of telling. He always laughs it off. And honestly, even if it upsets him, we have no right to butt into their personal stuff like that as fans. Anyway, it led to especially Ni-ki becoming very distant from Sunoo. At least on camera. It's sad because they seemed pretty close at first. Also, if there was indeed any prior tension in the group towards Sunoo, all those fans did was make it even worse.
And don't even get me started on the whole James Corden situation with ARMY. I'm proudly an ARMY and I've met really lovely people among ARMYs, but with that situation, the toxic ARMYs really came in droves out of the woodwork. I don't particularly like James Corden, but for a stupid joke, he really didn't deserve death threats.
Just yeah, crazy fans just take things way too far in any kind of situation. It's really sad for us normal fans and the idols themselves ^^'

@@shanamoens822 yeah this also reminds me about the Karina dating situation. I understand why fans were angry but the fact that shippers were also mad because she wasn’t dating winter is absolutely insane. I was interested in enhypen for a while but im not an engene. I came toward a couple posts that were saying how sunoo was fatshamed by his members particularity niki along with photo evidence. It looked really true so I didn’t like niki at first but later learned that he was hated for wrong reasons and he’s still very young, he didn’t deserve all the hate:(

personally, if you're an shipper that believes the ship you 'ship' are actually dating and take it so serious to the point you start hating other idols or members, you need to leave the chat. I personally have participated in shipping and have read a fanfic but I don't take seriously or going or saying "They're dating and whatever." *cough~ cough* the taekookers- *cough~ cough* But I've seen wattpad accounts busy sl*tshaming other idols (especially female idols- a specific female idol) for interacting with their ship. I personally would diagnose them with a few months in self confindment cause can be serious.
and then we have the fanfic, okay fanfics are nice but there's a limit. I've seen so many INAPPROPRIATE fanfics and it's to the point where you actual stop and question yourself and say, "How bad can it get?" And there's been times I've seen people in the comment sections say " This a bit too far." and then people start jumping on them for stating the obvious. But if you consume fanfics on a regular as a source of entertainment, just remember the difference between reality and fantasy.
now the fanart, fanart is nice. Especially those cute ones or ones highlight a moment where the two idols interacted and made it a little more romantic and etc BUT! it also has a limit and if you're going to draw +18(and i mean by legit nude drawings) fanart of idols and say it's okay...ASYLUM NOW!! and if you're drawing a full grown ADULT WITH A MINOR...at this point you need to be in jail cause wtf.
but i just want say the kpop fans that be making cash by writing fanfics, drawing and making videos...well done on sticking to your grind and making that bag.
Oh this video was very needed!!!!

yeah im a little shipper but obviously dont believe they are dating because if you stand for a certain ship, that member in the ship can have the exact same relationship with another groupmember so I think its stupid to think they are actually dating. For ffcs its honestly just the story for me. You wont believe how talented of writers some people are and it comes to the point where I forget that the main characters in the books are idols lmao im too invested in the story that i forget. I think casual shipping as in jokingly shipping while knowing they just have good chemistry is fine. But yeah, when it crosses that line those people are just ridiculous.

I completely agree .. like when i was new to kpop and i only listen to some of bts song so did know about their group dynamic . I saw so many taekook videos and jealous moments thats for sometime i thought they feel something for each other more than friends and i already had a soft corner for jungkook and v because their were the members i Frist noticed but then when i properly got into bts i realised all of them r extremely close to each other and no is jealous of each other. These videos can be misleading to new kpop fan which leads them to make wrong assumption. i realise that we should not fall for this jealous compilation video. We can love jk and v's bond together but lets not hate other members when they interact. We r just fans and we have no control over what people they interact, like or date .

This exact thing happened to me. I was a tae-kook and Yoongmin shipper. But once I realized what I was thinking was wrong; although I have never harassed anyone for their shipping opinions, I felt uncomfortable so I took a step back and left the fandom. I still listen BTS because I like their music very much, but I don’t want anything to do with the fandom. From that day on, I’ve been very scared to get too deep into any fandom because of the shippers (and toxic fans). I also used to read fanfics but I no longer find them interesting to read as I just feel extremely uncomfortable putting any idols in the situations which occur in the books.

I remember when I got into Kpop in 2016-2017 with BP and BTS's music. Then I saw many Taennie moments and just because I didn't know about shipping, I truly believed in them but haven't done anything except watching their ship videos and believing in their ship. Then everything that happened between them in 2021-2023 made me believe again in them because of all the evidence there. In my opinion, when idols look at each other a lot during an award show, stare at each other, etc, they may be attracted to each other but only this, doesn't mean they are dating especially when throughout the year they are busy with their schedules. BUT there is a huge possibility for some idols to be dating with each other - they are pretty, they are in the same industry, they will keep everything private. Plus, between male and female idols I believe that for a ship to exist, there is a reason, especially if the ship is soo popular as Taennie. Ofc, there are many examples against this as any other BPxBTS ships, BTSxTwice (those two work through the whole year and barely have free time esp in the same time), and many more.

i won't comment on anything, except the time you said something along the lines of "they might end up writing something, that romanticises abuse, rape, and stuff like that"
i am of the firm opinion that you can write something without endorsing it. Like, the importance is, that you as the reader know it's fiction, and that you're old/informed enough to know something is bad. I am anti-cencorship, so i agree to let people write whatever they want, but warnings and tagging is VERY important
