Nice build..... I wish you make something from pirates of the carribbean..... Just like the Jack sparrow's compass.... Black beard's sword..... And aqua devida's those glasses..... And many things are there.... Well it's your channel and I know it is not easy task to make such props but I hope you will try to make one or more from pirates of the carribbean...
I take your requests into account Phenominal gamers, I'll think about them, but as you said it is not an easy task to choose the props I'm gonna make 😅
@@EpicCardboardProps well I know it's not easy to select props but try to understand my feelings regards these props well they are not difficult to make..... You must see them once...
I am over the moon with this prop!!! Amazing!!! I have wanted you to make this prop for a very long time. Excellent my friend. I wish I could build this one, but my hands don't work well anymore so I am living vicariously through your videos. This has to be my favorite one yet. Thanks for your great work.
Nice work on the helmet. I love how it connects! Maybe one day you could make a Knight of Ren helmet from the Rise of Skywalker to add to the collection?
Spray can or acrylic both will work very well, as long as you're not using a heavily water based one, you're good to paint the helmet directly on the modelling paste, (no paper mache in that case) I've done it several times, like for my new Mandalorian helmet, or my Bokatan helmet. You'll find these tutorials on my channel too. Just be careful to remove as much imperfection from the modeling paste as you can while sanding it as it matters more here than with the paper mache technique.
I'm looking to make this for my 5 year old son for Halloween, I was wondering if you would know how much I'd need to scale down the template for it to fit his small head, even knowing your head circumference I think would help. Thanks!
You can indeed. In the templates folder I put a text file named "Read Me" that explains how to do it using my head circumference and yours (or your son's) 😉
Um i want to make the damaged helmet like the one from the obi wan kenobi show do i just not put some things or can you make a video about how to make it and i am also asking is the templates on pdf cuz if its pdf it says its on limited areas because im living in the Philippines
This is amazing. But if you reshape the parts under the eyes i think you will get a more accurate prop but aside from that it is an amazing build. Keep it up!:)
THAT INTRO WAS ON POINT! Bravo mate! I have a few ideas for projects you could do! • Peter Parker Web shooters • Land Speeder • face hugger • Clone trooper helmet • The DeLorean (Back to the Future) • Starship enterprise (Star Trek) • Lightsabers
Creating these templates is in fact the actual build like 70% of the job, the tutorial videos are just the tip of the iceberg where I show you how to assemble the pieces so that's not a question I can answer to in a few sentences in the comments, it's a very complicated process that involves my experience with cardboard and several professional softwares, like blender, illustrator, photoshop.... If I could explain that in an easy way, I would have done it in the videos already! But maybe I will make a series of video one day where I show you how to make them, I still have to figure out how though.
I bought this template and would like to use the svg file to cut using my cricut. What size should I cut the pieces out? I noticed they didnt upload into design space at the correct size..
The templates and the SVG files are in life size so you have to print or cut them at 100% of the scale for you to get the pieces at the right size. But of course feel free to lower or higher that percentage if you want to make the helmet smaller or bigger ;)
I did paint some of my recent ones, but usually I don't as cardboard is not the right medium for it in my opinion. The thing is that painting cardboard tends to make all cardboard imperfections much more visible, so it requires time consuming additional steps to get a perfect results.Which defites the idea of that build as you'd get a better result for less time making it out of foam 😉
I love that you have made this template for a non-creative person such as myself. I purchased the template because I wanted to make it for a cosplay and was wondering if this was able to be painted, and if so, would I need to take any different or additional steps?
Thank you! Yes of course you have to print them, that's the way they work 🙂 in the templates folder you downloaded there is a text file named "Read Me" that explains how and a few other important things, don't hesitate to have a look at it as it is primordial for you to start the build on the right foot. Also don't forget that while you get many additional instructions on the templates, it is also required to follow all instructions from that tutorial video, both are necessary for you to achieve that build with the best result possible.🙂
@@EpicCardboardProps I think you misunderstood my question; I was wondering if it were possible add color by painting it, and if so at which step would you recommend, and would anything need to be changed or added? Thanks in advance for your response.
I hope you read it and can help me. That looks great so I want to make it. but not for an adult but for an 11yo boy. what size adjustment would you recommend?
Hey, glad to hear that! In the templates folder you will find a text file named "Read Me" that explains how. But basically you just have to divide the circumference of your son's head (above the eyes) by mine which is 23 inches, that's gonna give you a decimal number like 0,86 for instance, and that is the percentage you have to print the templates out from your computer to make it a perfect fit for your son's head, in this case you would have to print them out at 86% of the original size 😉
Hey there! Thanks for checking out my tutorial. If you're looking for measurements, you won't find them because I've designed the templates to be printed at 100% scale, which means they're life-sized. In the folder you've downloaded, there's a file called "read it" that contains all the essential information. I also explain the first steps in my tutorial videos. So I intentionally don't provide precise measurements as achieving this level of accuracy with measurements precise to the millimetter would be a nightmare to implement. Instead, I recommend using the templates as they are and following the visual guides and instructions provided. It'll make the process more manageable and ensure a great result. Enjoy crafting! 😊📏✂️
@@AnthonyBissell Oh sorry, It seems there was a bit of confusion, I thought you were talking about another part of the helmet, my mistake. Regarding that specific piece of the helmet, and in general when there are no templates or sizing mentioned in the video, it means that the size doesn't matter much. In that case you can approach it by cutting the piece a bit longer than you anticipate needing. Then, simply position it at the bottom of the triangle on the mouth section, and you can visually determine what needs to be trimmed to fit perfectly. It's all about customizing it to suit your unique project. If you have any more questions or run into any issues, feel free to ask. Happy crafting! 😊📐✂
Well you have to know that it is very difficult to explain how! Creating these templates is in fact the actual build like 70% of the job, the tutorial videos are just the tip of the iceberg where I show you how to assemble the pieces. So I will explain how I make these templates in several videos where I would details the process using tricky softwares and such, but I'm not sure how to do that yet. Maybe I will make a series of video one day where I show you how to make them, but as I said don't expect a single quick 20 minutes tutorial video 😅
Hey Alex, thanks for dropping by and suggesting the V47 Flatliner from Titanfall and Apex Legends! I have to admit, it does sound like a really cool gun. But here's the thing: my channel is mostly focused on movies and TV shows, so I don't usually make things from games. The sunglasses I made from Apex Legends were a fun exception! However, I appreciate your enthusiasm, and who knows, maybe one day I'll surprise everyone with a movie-inspired creation that includes a cool futuristic gun like the V47 Flatliner. Until then, stay tuned for more movie and TV show magic! 🎥🍿
I have, actually there is a text file name "Read Me" that you download with the templates that explain how to do it, but basically to do so you just have to divide the circumference of your head (above the eyes) by mine which is 23 inches, that's gonna give you a decimal number like 0,86 for instance, and that is the percentage you have to print the templates out from your computer to make it a perfect fit for your head, in this case you would have to print them out at 86% of the original size 😉
It can be worn of course, that's the all point of this tutorial :) if you want to paint it I recommend you to use acrylic paint though as it is a thick and opaque type of paint as opposed to water based paint that will soak the cardboard leading to very poor result 😉
