Only a few minutes in - but just gotta say, love the music in the intro. Sounds slightly spooky which is appropriate considering we're so close to Halloween 🎃
Good man, LOL I didn't even think of the Halloween connection, but I like it. How did ya go today. We got a double bag of squid which was a nice rest from the snapper
Thanks! It's always good to see you out there, and yeah, it was funny. Literally five minutes after you left, we had a few good runs, but nothing of major size. The good news is that the snapper were starting to fire this weekend, so it won't be long.
Hi Alan just a good question do you have a section explaining the best braided weight all rounder if you're going to catch bream whiting Tommy's garfish and all that and hook sizes and the the rigs to use for like land base. Does the braid and the leader line have to be the same weight or can you use a heavier braid but do a lighter leader to catch the the other targeting fish that you will want to chase. As back in my days we weren't allowed to really do male stuff like fishing but I enjoyed it and loved it and I wanted to do it but now I want to get really into it properly and books don't make sense. Also the name and the best hooks and sizes to use for these species and also the rigs? Please cause I really want to get back into fishing.
I hope you are very well, all that stuff is covered in great detail in the FishingMad Members area. There are detailed, videos and workshops on all the basics of rigging up, targeting different species, land based fishing, kayaking, boating and a lot more. The RUclips channel is really to cover the fishing adventures. Id highly recommend checking out www.fishingmad.com.au/member it has so much helpful content and very easy to follow detailed instructional stuff.
@@fishingmad I have a 4.5m tinny with a spot lock motor on it and other than the boat itself, it’s the best money I’ve ever spent on my fishing gear :)
Your comment regarding no interest by fish of the turtleback worms is something I have experienced over some fishing outings. I have had some good catches by using the 4inch minnows in new penny colour. Larger flathead, pinkies and salmon.
Yeah its strange sometimes, and I just realise that my comment in the vid was inaccurate as all the whiting at the start were caught on turtlebacks. Some days the fish smash minnow profiles and other days worm profiles. Sometimes it takes some chopping and changing to work out a pattern
Yeah certainly seeing more fish and more bait, research from VFA scientists is showing a lot more activity in the bay and were seeing big numbers of whiting, snapper etc getting better. So I think so
I have recently added several detailed workshops in the FishingMad members area, ( www.fishingmad.com.au/member ) with a full run down of every hobie kayak on the market comparing all there specs and features and a full walkthrough of my yak, I will do an updated walkthrough in the coming weeks as I have a few new accessories yet to hit the market and also have a heap of kayak workshops and tutorials in the members area. Thanks
Hey buddy, I hope you are very well. I have answered this same question from you in the last 4 or 5 vids, so please go and check those responses. Honestly if your started don't overthink it, just have fun with the process, always think of the viewers, and if you enjoy it then you can take it more seriously. It can be really challenging to make consistent content so enjoy the process and adventure.
Good to see ya getting a few mate good feed I went out in Geelong a couple of weeks ago and did not do well at all cheers mate keep up the great vids

You need to get yourself a bow mount electric with spot lock. It’s a game changer for kayak fishing.
Agreed, ive seen some of the new spot lock motors for kayaks and they look unreal

Mix bagged is always fun! I noticed your not using the kimmi kart, prefer the standard system?
Thanks Alan 🐟
Onya Al great clip mate ! You guys looked you were along way offshore , how far do you normally kick out when the conditions are good ?🍻
Thanks, it really depends on the location and weather, so days I'm kilometres out and on this occasion I was only about 800 meters out

Hey Alan! Have you noticed a difference since the commercial fishing vessels have been banned from fishing in the bay?
Yeah certainly seeing more fish and more bait, research from VFA scientists is showing a lot more activity in the bay and were seeing big numbers of whiting, snapper etc getting better. So I think so
