    Gday Alan, long time fisho - new viewer! Thanks for the inspo - I realized recently that I hadn't bought a fishing rod for about 15 years - so I got a 1-4 kg bream 7ft Raider and a 2500 Shimano Miravel - aim is to have a crack at this soft plastics biz! Hoping to chase some whiting wading from the beach etc this summer (around the Vic/SA border area)... thanks again for rekindling my interest to try something new.

    In 38 year's fishing Newport, I'm favourite spot is the outlet but only when it's on.
    The trav chase the bait, salmon clean up and shark's chase them all to warm water hence you're only catching salmon in the cooler waterways

    Hi Alan! Thanks for another awesome video! I am just wondering is the warmies (the hotties) a good fishing spot when there is low tide? Cause I have noticed that the water is not too deep over there. Keep on the good work!

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  4 месяца назад +1

      Thank you and yes it can fish well at both low and high tide. It can be a very hit and miss spot, obviously, the pumps running late winter or early spring changes all that but we do get good runs of pinkies and snapper in there aswell and mulloway and I've caught on both tides there, may just be harder to land fish and require working the plastic a bit faster on peak low.

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  4 месяца назад +2

      There are plenty of helpful tips in this vid, so make sure you watch it all the way through. Runs through some really helpful things. This time of year the water temp is still low, yesterday was 12 degrees so tge fishing is still very slow over the coming weeks it will rise 2-3 degrees and the fishing will go really good for pinkies, flathead, whiting, snapper, etc This time of year work the plastics very slow, fish as light jig head that you can get away with, use gulp plastics they are brilliant, other brands also good. Cheers

    • @muxishine
      @muxishine 4 месяца назад +2

      Mix it up, different techniques, different plastics, different jighead weights but most importantly, for most species, make sure you give it enough time to get to the bottom and cover as much ground as you can. Don't keep casting into the same spot over and over.

      Slow down. Make sure your lure sits on the bottom for few seconds on every hop. Use light line, leader and jig heads w/ quality plastics and I guarantee you’ll catch fish.
