Nice to see Ragnar again. How is the Feb update coming on, looking forward to following her journey more than you know. Great vlog as usual, cheers David
I have a video topic suggestion. Consider talking about the regulations, requirements, and costs to have charter yachts over 12 passengers. And how the market builds quantities of yachts above or at 12 because of this regardless of length.
Indeed this is a great vlog! Your Channel gives me great pleasure and is significantly helping with the refinement and continued planning for my explorer. Keep up the excellent work. Please! 👍👍
One must assume that Dilbar has a helipad or two? That's very interesting about the 12 guests for charter. So, no matter what the length, that applies I also assume? Dilbar is very impressive indeed, and I'm pleased I actually got to see her in Antibes, although I did miss you while I was there. I'm dreaming now of my fresh helicopter rating so I can land aboard my yacht with 10 guests :) Thanks, this was a very informative video!
That Tiara - was pictured in Auckland NZ - being a very small country I'd have never thought that your channel would ever have a super-yacht pictured here. Unknown to many - Auckland has a massive super and giga yacht market. There are always giant yachts here being serviced. It can be hard driving over the harbour bridge keeping one eye on the road and the other on the gig-yachts in ports.
A two bed surgery. 6 bed triage unit - expandable to 8 if need be. 2 surgeons, 4 nurses at EMT level or better, plus a GP. Physiotherapist and even a Ship's Counsellor. Given what I'd be using my dream ship for, these would be essentials. Helipad would be a given.
I am curious... What defines a Hanger (on a yacht)? And what would be, if any,... the difference between Helipad versus a “Touch & Go” lad arrangement? This should seem like a simple topic (it isn’t); however experienced deck hands/safety (fire)/‘commercial considerations are proper points, beyond simply factoring the crafts (helicopter) weight. Thanks for another interesting video.
I believe there's 2 more yachts on the market right now that are impressive for their size. Flyghtship T6 and Asenav Atmosphere. The T6 came with hangar and the Atmosphere could carry 2 helicopters. Both are sub-50m in length. The Atmosphere designed as mothership carrying more than 20 passengers for expeditions. Very impressive.
How big does a yacht need to be to cross the oceans comfortably or what features does it need to have? Also what kind of accommodations do some owners have on their yachts for dogs? Sorry I am just curious.
I'm surprised it is only about 250 yachts with helipads. It seems any explorer type yacht would so you can fly from a bay and inland. Because when you land in Antarctica you are quite limited to how far you can walk on snow. Now large Lake Powell type house boats around 25 to 35 meters are being built with pads. There are probably a dozen of them out there.
I once saw a yacht in Ibiza with helipad on one side and small boat hanging from the other, anybody any ideas what it could've been called or any name s of a similar boat?
@@FooFahFoeFum They will not be for civvie use . It was soley designed and sold to the US Millitary . And even if you did buy one there is no Yacht wide enough never mind big enough to accomodate one .
One would assume there were more then 253 with helicopter pads. That's amazing how rare they really are. Then yachts with hangers have to be insanely rare are there more then 25 of them?
Exactly I would assume especially on expedition yachts that helipads are very useful as they offer you the ability to go from your yacht into say downtown New York for a meeting and back again and you don’t have to fight through traffic
What I would like to see is that if they have all that money then why has not any one had a aircraft carrier built that can have their personal jet to land on or is there rules against this?
I want a yacht 🛥 that can actually fit a snooker table 6’ x 12’ . I want a bar and a party room around the pool 🎱 table area, I also want a shooting range for hi . Powered weapons 💥💥I also want a drag strip on deck I want a shopping 🛍 centre where I can go and get any thing I can imagine.
Seems like a waste of space to me. If anyone wants to come visit me on my mega yacht they can be dropped in the water next to it and one of the tenders can pick them up. :).
Unfortunately, pilots in marine aviation are prima donnas, and sometimes wreck havoc on a yacht crew. Check Charter Aircraft companies carefully. If the yacht owner decides to purchase an aircraft, they might consider the need to a hire a good ground crew for minor service issues when the yacht is at sea.
If you buy a yacht with no hanger ... for a helo .. People should be made fully aware of having a helo unprotected from the sea . Watch the video of the USN Carrier USS Kitty Hawk and the Seahawk secured at the bow ..The waves wrecked it after the storm ceased it was pushed overboard due to extensive damage Am surprised you never highlighted the dangers/risks of having a helo with no hanger .

Be a qualified buyer :)
Helipad? I would like an entire airplane-strip on my yacht, and not one of those lame carrier-thingies. Nice video!

See that's why I love your channel. You share information I didn't know, that I need to know.
Thank you for another great video.
I feel so welcome on this channel. I, a mere pennyless dreamer.
I'm afraid I will always be one of the dreamers!!! 😂🤔
You have to atleast try
This video is really well made I enjoyed it a lot as it fuels those dreams! 👍

So funny you mentioning Planet Nine has she featured in the recent Chris Nolan film Tenet.
What is the ownership cost of cecilia... Please tell me along with its operational cost for an year...

@@almostyummymummy I have no idea - it's just that is downtown Auckland in the back ground - the old ferry terminal is the givaway

Is the mangusta 165 on this list? It should, that picture with a minuscule r22 on her bow is incredible.
Can you do a video like this but with the best tender garages/toy capacity?

True, missed both in the vlog as well.
T6 is currently one of my favorits.
Can you do more walkthroughs those were so cool but ones of bigger yachts
Can't wait to buy this for us Michael A.K.A Lenny Green and kamika and starshima and David Green stay sweet all

Twin Diesel engines. ABS class/MCA compliment, a 3,700 NM range and an amazing selection of wines.
Kellington Link can you explain what that all means? Except the wine...I get that much.
Octopus is still my favorite. I wonder if it will be going on the market soon? Imagine that commission! 🤑
The octopus is a very nice looking boat
Could u recommend any ice class explore yacht
Ragnar !!
Alucia, Galileo G
More explorer yachts please

Which company sell all this yachat?
There are a whole bunch of different company’s that build and sell super yachts
Out of curiousity are seaplanes popular on superyachts?
Great video. I'd be happy with a touch and go helipad -- far more practical in my view.
Great video. Thanks. Too bad you couldn't show any of the interiors.
Does yachts have helipads that can be lowered hydraulically to store a helicopter inside the vessel in front of it

Having the money to buy a yacht is one thing, but to charter it out just makes It a very posh floating static caravan.
Azimut is enough for me..😇
In my opinion anything that's 165 feet or bigger would benefit greatly from a helipad.

My choice is Wider 165 with an amphibious manned drone and an amphibious plane like ICON A5 or AKOYA and many of E-Bike.
The first yacht looks a bit basic, the others are very impressive.
If you own any yacht that is big enough to hold a helicopter It’s automatically an unbelievable yacht
An ice breaking super yacht Ragnar?
"...but but but, global warming...." 🤣
0:00 hell yeah i'm
I was relieved this week that Jeff Bezos hadn’t pipped me to building the first sailing yacht with a helideck and hanger. Phew.

No one is that rich. There's less than 10 countries with true aircraft carriers. Thats a good enough indicator.
I Dream of owning a Giga Yacht with two helicopters & a submarine 9 jet skies etc
I have a wish list, but heli pad isn’t on it.
Dude says there is a lot of thought into landing a helicopter on a yacht....he's obviously not seen too many episodes of "Whale Wars"!!!
250 meters
