    Another thing to keep in mind is that Minnesota more specifically the Minneapolis area is currently in a bid to host a big world expo in the summer of 2027. That event is expected to bring an estimated 14.3 million visitors to Minnesota as well as 2.4 billion dollars in economic impact. I can guarantee you CF is eyeing this and if Minnesota is in fact selected for the event, I can guarantee you Valleyfair will see some investments leading up to it as I think CF will want to draw people visiting for the World Expo to the park that summer. I think we see a B&M invert added along the size of Talon and Patriot. Wouldn't be as expensive as a ride like Banshee and I think if Minnesota gets the World Expo, they'll want to make the investment.

    I live in Philadelphia and Dive coasters in the back seat are my FAVORITE. The only hope I have of a dive, is Busch Gardens OR Cedar Point. If Dorney gets this dive that’s a BIG deal! Hershey and Great Adventure don’t have a dive!

  • @brianfoss571

    Still think a B&M invert is a possibility. Shame that B&M hasn't built one with *both* a batwing *and* interlocking corkscrews, and Valleyfair! would benefit tremendously from both!

  • @brianfoss571
    @brianfoss571 Год назад +6

    A B&M mini dive won't be a bad fit for Valleyfair!, but there's a major problem with this layout. Building the top of the lift, drop, and immelmann *directly by the entrance* is bad for park optics. It's going to dwarf everything else in the skyline (except Wild Thing), which discourages guests from cycling through the rest of the park. This is even more problematic if Valleyfair! plans on reprofiling High Roller with Gravity Group (desperately needed, I'd argue) and building a banked dip into the turnaround. That change is not going to be as visible from the parking lot with an immelmann and cobra roll blocking it (as awesome as a cobra roll on a dive would be).

    To be honest I could see a lot of options for this park. Here's some I had in mind (not in order):
    -Gerstlauer infinity/invert (would have to be launched)
    -vekoma STC/tilt/bermuda blitz (can be launched too)
    B&M dive/invert/wing (can be launched)
    -intamin LSM launch coaster (any model) (ideally something small)
    -RMC raptor
    -wildcard pick: mack big dipper (with launches)
    Pretty much anything is viable for this park, as long as it has some inversions. If cedar fair wanted to get experimentative, they could, since adding a coaster here and it being a flop would have much less of an impact than say at CP or KI.

    Whatever their next roller coaster will be, it should be called Excelsior. That was my friends idea as he's a huge Marvel fan, and that was Stan Lee's famous catchphrase. If I were designing a mini dive for the park, I'd build the lift, turnaround, and first drop east and north of High Roller's turnaround. That uses more of the Dinos Alive footprint and frames the ride's peak sightlines to the right of the other coasters. I'd avoid the standard dive formula and add a vertical loop after the drop (Valleyfair! and Michigan's Adventure are the only parks in the chain without a modern vertical loop), followed by the cobra roll, and then a small immelmann next to the station. Everything else would be airtime hops and banked turns (except maybe a corkscrew - why not go for 5 inversions without a MCBR?) in front of High Roller. Dramatic, but not overbearing on the rest of the skyline.

  • @CshmrGraff
    @CshmrGraff 3 месяца назад

    That area you showed is actually the old, old time cars ride. The dinos alive area is behind the high roller, where you see the buildings used for Halloween haunted houses, and the space is like 3x the size of that plot.

    I think the new Zambezi Zinger is going to do wonders for WoF, and in doing so CF could be trying to elevate all of their lower tier parks to a point where they can say something like, "even our lowest tier parks are still better than SF mid tier parks". Further establishing the brand as less in competition with SF and more in competition with Seaworld/Busch Garden parks.

    Though Cedarfair and the land owners are going to have a lot of trouble from the locals and city council. yeah i was thinking a b&m in the front, that sounds like a crazy good idea.
    i have another idea for another coaster later on, maybe a custom rmc raptor that sits on the place that looping starship used to be and that one restaurant (forgot what it was called). but if they also tear down mad mouse (because that ride is hot garbage and it is next to that restaurant) they could get a really sick raptor with an airtime hill and a zero-g stall over the pathway between the looping starship plot and restaurant/mad mouse. they could also add a norwegian loop, dive loop, zero-g roll, etc. just a speculation for a coaster after the b&m in the front, most likely 2029-2032.

    We've been to Valleyfair a couple times now. With the most recent visit in 2019. It's a beautiful and rather charming park! Hopefully Excalibur isn't going anywhere because that coaster rocks! And it would stink to lose a classic Arrow, but the Corkscrew location is perfect for a B&M invert. With that said, I love your idea of a Vekoma Suspended Thrill Coaster. Ideally, Corkscrew would stay too and that plot at the front of the park would be used, as you suggested. A Dive Coaster would be meh. But better than nothing. Anything there would be a nice look as you approach the gates. Fingers crossed. The park deserves some love.

      As a ride op for High Roller, I lowkey would love to see it RMC'ed with the station moved out of planet snoopy to where the turn around is, but it's very unlikely they would do that. It's been a lot of kid's first roller coaster. It is a classic wooden coaster and I've seen how much that ride means to guests. I think a better option would be for Gravity Group to redo it. The station especially needs to be improved for those PTC trains to have faster operations. I feel like a Vekoma STC would fit the park well. The only issue is that the Minnesota River tends to flood up there behind High Roller. Our associate parking lot was completely underwater at the beginning of season. There's been times where Excalibur and Thunder Canyon has been flooded too. I'm not sure how much that would affect the dino area though

    I definitely think new Vekoma is the most realistic as their next coaster. That said, I doubt it'll be very soon. I can see them getting some cloned model after that same clone has already been built elsewhere in North America. I would like to be more optimistic but that's what I honestly think will happen. Not that a new Vekoma wouldn't be cool. Just that they'll wait for it to spread like the next S&S 4D Free Spin, Vekoma Boomerang or Vekoma SLC and I don't think it will get the coaster until it is already less of a national draw.

      @@TP_Recommendations I'm not predicting a Free Spin. You're right that Adventureland would be reason not to go in that direction. I'm just saying that I think Cedar Fair won't give Valley Fair a new thrill coaster unless it's a cloned coaster that has already become wide spread in a similar fashion to rides like Free Spins, SLCs, Boomerangs, B&M Batman models or Skyrocket IIs. I guess I'm just saying that the chain won't even let them get an early clone. They'l wait until they've become fairly ubiquitous and possibly cheaper and more proven and then they'll finally deign to give one to Valley Fair. I'd love to be wrong and for the park to get an original coaster. We'll see.

    Valleyfair needs a invert. NOT a dive.

      At this point who would complain? There are no other dive coasters within 700 miles away.
      There’s an inverted coaster 300 feet away 😂

    Going to be honest Valleyfair was on the bottom of the list when I think about what parks should get a Dive Coaster however after watching this Valleyfair is now one of those parks on top of the list! Nothing like it for miles away! I also really like its location at the front! Could be a great way to start the day at the park when going to Valleyfair and seeing the coaster!

    I am thinking seeing how Cedar Fair does not invest into Valley Fair or Michigan's adventure they should just sell both parks. This would give them more working capital to invest in Cedar Point. Valley Fair is my home park I would like to be able to visit the park but it is so boring after visiting other parks that are much better.
