Since people are still finding this, you can do something similar in 1.16.3 by powering a piston down into a composter you're standing in. So it would look like:
Lever Piston (facing down)
v (Piston head)
Composter

Works great for me on 1.7.2, I had to stand as close as possible to the fence pieces, lay the redstone blocks on to them and step back into the redstone

Xray: Let me introduce myself
This is really cool :) Really all you have to do is put the two fences down (You have to be close to them) then connect the two redstone blocks to the side of it. After that just slowly walk into the redstone blocks and you can see through everything. Thanks! :D
Does it still work in 1.7.2? I tried it and all I saw was the inside of the redstone block. Is it my bad graphics or was it patched?
mine doesn't work, I can't put the Redstone down on the fence and when I do the old version it only allows me to see the inside on the glowstone
Phaedra Perry Do the one with the pistions, and instead of using glowstone use leaves and make sure you have graphics set to fast.

The fix in 1.7.4 is to step as close to the fence as possible then place the redstone block and back up

it still works on 1.7.9 too! you just have to stand close to the fence and put the redstone block only on the top fence. but there has to be two fences like in the video

It’s not working on minecraft pe and newest version. I tried hard to put a block but after an idea came to my mind, to use setblock command but when I completed it, I was just inside the redstone block :(
So only on Creative, any pointers in survival if you play on someone elses server?
It also works in survival. I just used creative mode to get around more quickly. :)
The alternative is travelling quickly in a boat and looking down. Found ocean temples that way also.

he-he i just use frost walker's and continually ran across the ocean's. i found many shipwreck's and ocean temple's. and i ran almost 1,500 kilmeter's on my feet and only about 75 kilometer's by boat

You can use the spectator game mode. When you create a new world, you can press more world options an press allow cheats on. Then type in the chat /gamemode spectator
I mean....ok. But if you're playing with cheats on just enter creative mode and hocus pocus up some diamonds. @@chestiitv2683

Woah. I'm a new player, last night was the first time I ever saw a Creeper... right outside my window actually. Dug a hole and sat in it, went back up, oh, yay, there's a Cave Spider and 2 Creepers. Today it was like a Monster Spawner... like 15 Cave Spiders, three skeletons, 2 zombies and 3 Creepers! I used a special seed (dumbocow) it's really nice, but yeah... lot of mobs. I'm on a tablet using Minecraft PE would this work on PE?

You get the coordinates then go in the chat and say /tp (YourName) X Y Z
(X Y Z is the coordinates)

This method works. However you need to make a copy of the world you want to X-ray in. Once you have it, change your verison to 1.7.2 and open the copy of your world. Then preform the X-ray glitch. Once you find your desired dungeon, take note of it's coordinates. Then go back to the verison you we're using and open up the original world and just head towards those coordinates. Thank Your Queen Later.

I'm guessing you play on a PC/Mac. When in your world, press F3 and take a look into the top left corner. :)

This works great in 1.7.2 in all modes. If you are having trouble, try it just like shown, but the move your view direction and player position around in small increments until you see it.

I found out what you have to do if this doesnt work(for people in discription who said that this doesnt work). place the frences but dont go stand on the block next to it. go stand on the block with the frences, place the blocks to it and go stand in the blocks.

Of course, it works in every world! The Amplified option only allows you to get higher structures. It doesn't change anything in the game mechanics.
