I live in Redmond and that is my OHV training area. Awesome to hear you call it a good BDR training ground. I have been out there with my BushPig (DR650) and my Tiger 900 Rally. Awesome training.

@@maximusDAbiker I'm originally from Madras myself. Left back in 91' and lived all over, then moved back to Redmond as my job is in north Bend. The OHV is awesome. During the weekdays its not busy. One the weekends it can have a few groups, but its so big that its not crowded.

Well dork, next time you’re down I’d be happy to go ride buckhorn with ya! There’s some even more proper singletrack over there but maybe not as scenic as the canyon.

Seeing this and riding my dad's 300L around the farm yesterday really made me wish I had a dirt bike again. My family and I have been going camping out at the Rockies since I was super young, and I'd always ride a dirt bike the whole time, but I sold my RMZ250 a few years ago since it was a bit too high geared to comfortably handle those trails. Gotta get a dirtbike again man, hot damn

I don't know if you or Grace might have some sort of contact with someone at Alpinestars, but they only make one boot for women, the Tech 3 Stella, in two color choices. I know a bunch of women who are getting into ADV and Dirtbike riding who would love a Tech 7 Enduro or similar option for them. More and more women are getting into ADV, and I just though maybe you or Grace might have some way to push that up to the companies that make these products.
Thank you for all of the hilarious and fun content.

    Close your eyes.
    Imagine this.
    It’s the mid ‘70’s.
    Your somewhere East of Barstow.
No, No - even better, you’re in the Anza Borrego camping on Fish Creek, near Split Mountain
Fish Creek is not a Creek, and probably never had fish.
    It’s a wide dry wash.
You finished a hardy camp breakfast and drink a beer.
Not to get Buzzed, but to control the fear.
    Get scared, you crash.
    No InReach Mini out here.
    Did you catch those Rhyme’s?
You climb on your motorcycle, (an MR175 Elsinore in my case) and Look all around.
    You see - Everything.
Then you look down to the front and you don’t see some things that do not exist.
The missing Speedo and Tach are simply not necessarily.
The windscreen, GPS, Cell Phone, Multiple USB ports are not part of your wildest imagination.
You open the gas valve and set the choke.
There is this thing called a Kickstarter, hope it’s not broke.
Ha! I just made another Rhyme.
It’s taken a while to master this process.
    But don’t Panic.
    It WILL start --- Eventually.
Your Destination, the Pumpkin Patch, East of Blow Sand.
    Time to set off.
The motorcycle becomes a living thing.
    An extension of your body.
You flow across curvy tracks laid down by Gen. George Patton.
He trained his Tank Corps here, before the invasion of North Africa.
After playing around for a while, it is time to head back.
As usual, you didn’t bring water.
When you return to camp, your hair and clothing are indistinguishable from the landscape.
If you were riding with others.
No problem, it’s time for lunch and more beer.
Next up is a run up Split Mountain Canyon and tackle some windy side canyons.
You push on until the walls become too narrow for your handlebars.
Don’t get too pushy, remember, you don’t have a reverse gear.
    OK
    Enough fun
Time to get back for dinner, more beer, war stories, lies, and tall tales.
    You now have two choices.
    Watch sunset.
    Turn in early.
Gets cold when the sun go down.
    Or ---
Blast up to Blow Sand after sundown and watch the dune buggies and jeeps make ---
    fools of themselves.
    Hope you brought the Aspirin.
You will be sore when you wake up.
    Life is good.

Hey there Dork. Looking good and looked like a great ride. I know that’s up in Redmond but will the giant loop rally have trails similar to this. I signed up for it and It’s my first event don’t know what to expect. I’m bringing my T7 and considering bringing my wife’s klx 230 just in case. Maybe on your next podcast with grace could you go over some basic stuff and tips for a first time event for a solo rider. If you need examples of stupid questions. That I ask myself in my head about the event from a first timer perspective. I’m sure I could have whole videos worth of them. Stay safe happy riding

There's easy riding out there and fuel capacity is pretty important because everything is so far apart.
Also we already did a podcast on what to expect at rallies ;)

Dirt riding single-track is about weight and balance, neither of these things can be found on a four-stroke EPA-designed duel sport. Get a 2-stroke.

I'm like literally doing it in this video so that's not entirely true? I don't disagree that there are better bikes for different purposes but people should ride what they feel most comfortable on.
