This century and generation will never experience such humor.
The world has changed..
Thinking has changed.
Thinking is no longer allowed. We need the govt and elites to do it for us.
Carol Burnett will soon turn 90. She is a treasure. This skit will never get old.
And Ms. Burnett is still a gorgeous lady and the best female comedian of all time!
She is an absolute treasure ❤
My mother turned 90 last year and I have no idea what her own voice sounds like or what her own mannerisms are because she took on Carol Burnett's persona! Every time I hear CB's voice, I hear my own mom's voice (and attitude 😉). IDK whether that's great or not, but I am so grateful Carol recorded so many shows, hilarious skits and her audience Q&A's were great ~ so anytime I'll miss my mother, I'll have CB to help me through it.
1933...Quite a Year..My mother turned 90 in February..Still giggling.
and she was never asked to be on SNL! so crazy to me
The outfits are slaying me 🤣🤣 I remember we dressed this way! Pantsuits need to make a comeback, LOL. And gold platform shoes!!
I still believe Carol Burnett was one of the best female comedians ever. I know Lucille Ball had a lot of respect for her, if she didn't think you had talent she would actually say it.
It’s REALLY hard to sing off-key when you actually know how to sing on key. Carol was AWESOME. I LOVED that show!!!!!! 💕💕💕💕💕
My very thought.
She is absolutely brilliant!
My favorite!
Best show ever. Wish they would something like this now. The humor now is not nearly as good as it was then.
I did too! I laughed so hard at watching her, my mom came in and asked why I was crying!
There'll NEVER be another Carol Burnett!!
1933...Quite a year...
My Mom is 90..still giggling..
Anybody who's ever done theater of any kind knows somebody like Blossom.
Carol's eye rolls are priceless!!!! 🤣🤣
This scene alone proves that Carol is/was one of the funniest ladies in the world...hands down!!
Like ALL great actors, Ms. Burnett has very keen powers of observation, thats why her characters are so funny.
Ms.Burnett, if you read this , I just want to thank you for the years of laughter you have gifted us.
You are a lucky woman to have such a legacy!
I don't think luck is in place here. I don't know personally and I expect that she worked very very very hard to achieve what she has achieved in her lifetime. And indeed an amazing legacy. Iam a huge fan for one.
@@maaikehoijtink Please dont misunderstand - lucky to be Carol, not lucky to have achieved all that she has achieved.
There are so many talented people out there. It takes nothing away from them to admit that in almost everything we do, there is a bit of luck involved.
As a kid we used to watch this show every week.
But, I don't recall this skit.
There is no doubt that all the actors/actresses on this show were all super talented, and we would love the many, many times that these talented people ad-libbed and even cracked themselves up, and couldn't contain their own laughter...although they tried their best to do so.
That was a classic show!
Same, we were at that tv faithfully at 9pm Saturday nights!
3:59 - Carol's expression gets me every time!
I remember this skit, and the eye rolls - as only Carol could do them - during Vicki’s performance! Loved this show as a kid/teenager, and the skits STILL crack me up, 50+ years later!
Omg! The eye rolls! ❤
omg Carol's facial expressions right on! Great actress! Thanks for the good laugh this morning, Carol and Vickie! Love you both!!
The fact that Carol Burnett, a phenomenal vocal musician, did so well pretending NOT to be able to sing is just another example of why we still love her so. This was hilarious and I needed it today!!!
🥰🥰🥰🥰
Carol was a great comedic talent, and gets deserved credit. However, Vicki Lawrence came on the show at quite a young age, really had a fine singing voice (and a credible Top 40 Hit) and exhibited her own iconic comedic characters. With Harvey Korman, Tim Conway, Lyle Waggoner, what a show!
The scoop is that Vicki Lawrence was recruited for her singing, and to stand in as an extra for the skits, but primarily she was supposed to handle the singing when the guest du jour was a comedian. There was no plan for Vicki to be such a big part of the show, but it did not take long before her talents and pure comedic timing made her indispensable and an audience favorite, and as you said - creator of her own iconic comedy gold characters that have been given the celluloid immortality treatment. This was in her Autobio
i love carol's face when she sticks her jaw out and gets big eyes in defiance and snobbery!
Carol has got to be the sincerely funniest woman on earth.
Omg, I can’t tell you how much I love Carol Burnett. She’s absolutely fabulous! My very favourite female comedian in the world.
The creativity behind the writing and the delivery is amazing. I laughed so much watching this 🤣🤣🤣
The Carol Burnett show was the BEST!
I love her...the funniest lady in America.
Those shoes, that outfit! God, I miss the seventies.
Love love love Carol. She was the greatest along with Vicki and of course Harvey and Tim. Nobody will ever equal what these four did. 🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍
...... and Lyle Wagner. He tends to get overlooked because he was looked upon as less of a comedian and more of a handsome extra. Still, he was talented and Carol Burnett said he was incredibly likeable. She also said that, in person, he was actually very funny.
@@tomstanford7997 Yes he does get overlooked. Lyle was gorgeous but also very funny. Harvey and Tim were my favorites but I adore Lyle!! Awesome cast, the best in my opinion.
@@kellycaviness4850 yes! They were an excellent cast. Lyle was more of an extra but he was an excellent addition to the cast. Carol's leading man was almost always Harvey Korman. They were perfect together.
In the beginning, Lyle was hired as the announcer, so he didn't get as much sketch time as the rest. Later on he played a more integral part of the ensemble, but yeah, he does usually get overlooked. In contrast, Vicki was only hired to do the "Carol and Sis" sketches in the beginning, but she blossomed into a real central player and stayed the entire run, whereas Lyle left after season 7.

Bring polyester suits back. Just dig them up, they never disintegrate.
Best comedy show ever!
Pure comedic art. ♥️ There was always one of these ladies in every small town..... probably still! 😂
I believe that’s a high F above high C at the end of Blossom’s rendition. Along with the hilarity there’s some serious vocal chops!
No, C#6.
And those chops actually belong to Julie Andrews.
ruclips.net/video/nnwSx8dIzHI/видео.htmlsi=41rDiJuD2mbcx8_N and she kept that vocal range intact throughout her career.
She is the best comedian EVER…THE ABSOLUTE BEST. LOVE YOU CAROL BERNETT‼️♥️♥️💕♥️♥️💕♥️♥️
Such a classic!
I have loved her work since I was a kid on our living room floor looking up at her on the screen. It is only lately however that I realize the enormity of her talent. Never over the top, she knows just how far to go; there is so much nuance in her performances. Carol, if you're reading this know that I used to think you could be my mother since we both have red hair! 🥰
Know this Ms. Carol, with you, Vicky are awesome here and your The CBS (show) overflowing extraordinary talents extended to Harvy, Tim & Lyle Too...ALL ARE FOREVER the legacy of comedy as Lucys shows too included!
You all are the best as we fans, viewers were and are still blessed watching this legacy that is now still & most likely never to occur again!!
Ms. Carol Burnett, many 1,000s thank you for all your "ear tugs" over the years and give back to you Ms. Carol my/our love & never ending appreciation indeed enriching our lives!!
Happy early 90th Birthday this 26th April and good health for many more years!!
Every audition I've been to, ever.
Wow, I didn't know Vicki had such range as a vocalist! I only remember her singing "the Night the Lights went out in Georgia". (For which she won a Gold Record and Carol presented it to her right on the show!)
Vicki Lawrence was a good pop singer, but she's clearly lip-synching to a recording here, and I'm pretty certain that's not her voice we're hearing.
I'd love to know who was actually singing. That was not Vicki.
@@KDMDiz It's Julie Andrews.
@@elissahunthow are u sure?
@@johndipinto612how are u sure it wasn’t her voice?
Carol Burnett is just so hilarious...
Steve Lawrence was a great sketch comedian. He's so good in "Double Calamity."
I agree. Mainly known as a '60s crooner , the Carol Burnett Show showcased a talent no one knew he had
He would have fit right in with Harvey and Tim. Those three worked so well together and looked as if theyhad a blast!
Never found him show exciting he played the detective on CaBuSh and was fun to watch.. but he is too dead pan for me. BUT he had to be super fun in real life as he had so many famous friends.
Wow! Vicki Lawrence had a beautiful voice. Never knew she could sing.
She had a hit record with the song her first husband wrote, The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia.
Feels like it was yesterday:
changing out of my ski pants
in front of the television as her show began, so as not to miss a moment!
Hustled home from tobogganing
while looking forward to watching one of my favourites.
Such a consistently high quality program.
Didn't Vickie Lawrence sing for real? I mean didn't she sing that song: The Lights Went Out In Georgia? I love that song. ❤️
She also sang “Ships in the Night”, which was fairly big here in Australia.
She sang a few times on the Carol Burnett show, in the early seasons where it was more of a musical variety show and not just comedy sketches. I found the link to a duet number with Carol, although I wish I had found this one solo number she did in a Very scandalous outfit!
Anyway, she sings the high part in this duet, sometimes using her head voice, and through that you can see why she was dubbed over by a soprano for "I could have danced all night."
ruclips.net/video/-EI2V_kgZYc/видео.html
@@AndrewMacLaine thanks for that Andrew, good times, knee length boots and short dresses.
“ those were the days my friend, we thought they’d never end ? “ 😉
wow Vickie with that high soprano range, who knew?!
@@moimeme6533 She's lip syncing to a recording of someone else's voice.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HER OUTFIT!!!!
Blossom Butterworth! 💕
His outfit is 🔥
I had no idea Vicki could sing like that!! Wow!!! Some serious high notes!
um...no...... that was dubbed.
@@Vanman05 Learn something new every day! That would make sense. She released an album full of covers and it is pretty awful.
@@Vanman05 Yes. It's very obviously Julie Andrews, which I think was part of the joke. Not sure how so few seem to have noticed.
Pacoima.....That alone is hilarious!!!!
Truly classic tv series from the 60's and 70's.
I just discovered this woman.
I AM HOOKED
You have a lot of fun in store.
I love Carol Burnett. I've lived her since she sang about her love for John Foster Douglas. She is a genius in comedy. They just don't majestic them like her anymore.
(oops -- Dulles)
Ladiyes ladiyes, ladyies... I love Steve's pronunciation here!
Wardrobe augments her humour 500%
She is the best. Such comedic talent !
Every episode has made growing up so much easier. Die Hard Carol Burnett fan!!!!
Carol is superb.
One of the greatest Shows on TV. Lade with taäent.
This reminds me so much of Moira Rose!
As theatre people, we can say categorically that WE KNOW BLOSSOM!
She and her show never gets old.
Carol always did a great job playing characters with a thin coat of civility. The coat gets scratched and wow, does the nightmare come out!
Very well put.
One of the Top Best comedians outside of Lucy! 💐❤️
Oh my goodness. I have been waiting for this to be uploaded since the dawn of RUclips. Possibly my favorite sketch from the show's entire run.
Your life is complete.
@@Quinu12 LOL sad
Same!!!
...SAME HERE!! ...I saw it in syndication in 1976, and just GUFFAWED my keester off!! ...there's just....SOMETHING...about it.... (5:29)
@@RBS_ I think it's that Blossom Butterworth is my spirit animal
Thank you
I have laughed harder watching Carol than any show on TV.
At 2:38, Carol almost burst out laughing when he said '...the Tee Wee?'
Oh youthful memories growing up in New Jersey....
I remember the moment when I was spell bound by her rolling on the floor laughing my guts out.
Surprised and amazed that anyone could make others laugh so much.
Those days were hard for me back then.
Funny thing is, Blossom's raucous and out-of-tune performance demonstrated more showmanship than the stiff version of Vicki's character. Love Carol and Vicki so much!! They were magic together.
Yeah, cuz if there’s one thing we all want in our Eliza Doolittle, it’s tone deaf jazzercise.
@@jimjimmyjames59 That's the perfect description of Blossom's performance.😄
It's easier to close your eyes than your ears.
says someone who calls herself "Cling" and has obviously *never* auditioned in theater (or anywhere else). This reading required a standard vocal audition and nothing more ... and yes, I know theater well.
@@dannydougin3925 Thanks for your input, Blossom.
I have only seen this lady in one thing.
Yeah one thing.
I'm sure she was in Annie.
I could be very wrong.
This is , she seems to have been a much loved and successful actress..

I love Sheila's yellow pantsuit
Still my "all time fav" childhood show: one of few times whole family enjoyed---laughing was "great connector"!
Genius....
Accompanied by a genius cast...
Miss this type of comedy.
Everything is trash trash trash now....
Wow, this is so hilarious 😆 🤣 What a talent. Miss these shows from my childhood.
Blossom Butterworth, for years that was my favourite drag queen name. 😆
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It is a perfect drag queen name
Love her so much. I do the same thing with my eye twitch when I’m over someone’s story, reason or excuse.
pure comedy genius - Carol was the best!
Man, watching Carol Burnett was such good times. lol lol
I love how Carol Burnett pulled her headdress so tight that her eyes look like a bad facelift, and then she accentuates it with her expressions! She is hilarious! Also, the "Russian" director--hilarious! Vicky sang like a lightingale!
My mother told me once, it was harder to intentionally sing out of key than to sing in tune.
She's right.
This is such a *treasure*!! I don't recall seeing this when it was on the air, and I remember almost all the shows I saw...It's like *new* Carol Burnet! YaY!!🥰🥰
I lived in Pacoima as a kid. LOL
I love this show!
‘Hit it!’ 😂 The best.
I loved both. The woman that sang it so well, and the actor that acted so well!
..this, Kids, remains, & ALWAYS will be, my *FAVORITE CAROL BURNETT SKIT!* (1:26) ..It was one of those 'next-to-last' skits, I saw in 1976(?), and I cracked up MERCILESSLY! ..the many things going for it, are... (cont.):
- Blossom punching the Boxing bag, on her DIVA-esque entrance (1:07)
- Vicki's elegant singing (3:29)
- Blossom's feigned disgust (masking her insecurity) (3:59)
- Blossom's shadiness (4:38), & her AWFUL jazz-scatting / screaming
(5:08) (5:29)
- Steve's '..picked the locks...' joke falling flat, and, him covering for it (5:50)
- Blossom stickin' it to Vicki, after getting her 10th win, again (6:23)
.....Oh, how I laughed & laughed & LAUGHED! ...my ALLTIME fave Carol skit!
She,s a meannie, meannie, and very meannie Madam
Carol sounds like some of the current singers who screech more than sing. Well done Carol.
Carol was WILD!!! Lmiao 💜🤗💜
OMG! All that 70's polyester!
Carol's face @ 3:58 is *HILARIOUS!!!* 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 (I had to edit this, as I put the wrong time in my original comment...lol)
I think you might be thinking of a different spot Billy… I looked at 3:09 and didn’t see the hilarious look. You must be thinking of a different spot,.. could you look again and edit your comment?

@@RBS_ For sure...LOVE that and Carol truly is a LEGEND! 🙂
Steve...I will love you forever.
As someone who lived around Burbank and Pacoima, this cracks me up.
🤦♀️😂🤣the original duck lips🤭😂
The whole cast was hilarious. The only show that rivalled it was Mama's Family.
Who could ever forget the elephant story! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love those horrible platform shoes.
I was about 10 years old and I remember that line "I was on Johnny Carson. I won 2 free dinners to the House of Pancakes. Top that." I laughed my a$$ off.
Both ladies have wonderful voices, but I wonder if it was hard for Carol to screech like that. Maybe not, because her voice singing that kind of reminded me of another one of her characters, Eunice.
LOVE YOU CAROL
Boy! Does that take me back? Hey how long was “The Carol Burnett” show on the air?
Carol Burnett Show 11 seasons 1967-1978.
This is hilarious! I don’t recall seeing this skit before. ❤❤❤
Back when comedy was allowed 😂 absolutely loved it when my parents let me watch this with them.
