You miss the point of dark souls... Hard doesnt equal better. Fromsoft have said that they never intended for their games to be hard but it just turned out that way.

Go have a look at their King`s field games; where you can literally die within the first few minutes of gameplay....ohh and the first Save Spot is also quite far away....(in those days, not many companies did that! and gamers had NO internet to find the location of the save spot!!)
@@anonymousfwefwefwefweff thats their design choice...im sure if they wanted to make their games hard they would have done it already...but thats just how they designed their games and turned out to be "challenging" not "hard".
I think the biggest point to note is that if you were to make DSBB games easier, it'd lose out on a lot of the feeling of triumph that really hooked me and other players to these games. Each of the souls games I've played thru (1, 3 and BB with a few indie souls inspired games) have all gotten 2 things right that got me going. The first being a combat challenge that is difficult but fair and engaging, this gives the sense of not just overcoming a tough battle but the battle itself being fun to play. (I don't like turn based RPGs and a "hard" battle in those is more tedious than rewarding imo). The second thing is level and world design that makes me feel like I'm discovering things and finding secrets. It also helps to include means of traversal that reward my exploration with faster ways from place to place. Souls games and metroidvania's as well have always given me a pretty satisfying experience in that respect and they are infinitely more rewarding when I feel I've overcome ridiculous odds, so long as it felt like I wasn't being cheated in the process.
Most of the difficulty in Dark Souls comes from figuring it out and getting used to it because of the way it doesn't hold your hand and expects you to figure shit out yourself. On replay it tends to be on the moderate to easy side.
It's going to be tough to pass bloodborne or the OG darksouls in the hearts of souls fans. I think without the customization of the character and making them exactly what we want and changing weapons and armor is really important to a large group of fans. Also the no PvP or multi player is going to be tough for some. But taking it as a single player game with the unique and difficult playstyle will be absolutely refreshing. It looks like it will take a long time to master the dance of swords clashing. The prostetic arm in my opinion looks to be an evolution if bloodborne trick weapons and I can't wait to see them all. The spear looks amazing! Either way I can't wait to play this game and suck at it for a long time. I think it has the potential to be the best game they ever made. Hopefully this was coherent. From what I've seen, the Stealth is not supposed to be very robust. It serves only as means to thin the enemies before engaging. In Dark Souls 3 you can make a Pyromancer, Battle mage, Full mage, Knight, Dark Knight, Rogue, Heavy axe wielder, etc. etc. In this game you will always be Sekiro the Shinobi.

Sherlin Tyler Brock that’s why PVP for these games die in barely a month after release. Could it be their best game yet? Well, that depends on what you came to games like the Souls series for in the first place. For me, it almost certainly wouldn't be, since I came for the dungeon crawling, pre battle prep and character building, and that unique sense of melancholy that the Souls series has. If for you, the Souls games (and their derivatives) are supposed to be action games with tight, unforgiving mechanics, a specific challenge, and whatnot, then it might end up being yours depending on how the balancing goes. Sekiro is using a very specific set of mechanics from the Souls toolbox in its design, and if those aren't what you liked about those games in the first place, then you might not like Sekiro focusing on those things.
Yep, you cant. If a miniboss has a double bar, people think they can bypass it easily by stealth blow, run, hide, then stealth blow again. This isnt the case coz once you stealth blow once, hide then try to stealth blow again, the enemy already regenerates health.
4:48 although it's not the point of this video, I should point out that hollow knight is not a souls like in the same way that surge, lords of the fallen and nioh are. those games more or less take the gameplay of dark souls and alter or improve it. (unless your name is lords of the fallen) hollow knight is considered a souls like because death works in a similar way, and the setting is somewhat similar, being a ruined kingdom, but the gameplay isn't like other games considered souls likes. it's not very similar to dark souls at all, actually. the reason I want to point this out is because you say other souls likes headed into the wrong direction, but considering your argument, hollow knight is a souls like more similar to sekiro, considering that the only real similarities are the way death works, the setting is a bit similar, and the game is hard. just like how sekiro has a somewhat similar setting (it's not exactly a ruined kingdom in the same way, but it's still fairly ruined), the way items work is similar, and the game is hard. I mean, the developers of hollow knight even said that most of the things people think are similar weren't even based on dark souls. it's not a large part of the video, it's a pretty small part actually, but it kind off bothered me. I mean, you could have easily placed nioh there, since it's similar to dark souls, unlike hollow knight.
Sekiro will never be more grand and fantastic than Ds1 100 % sure. But i hope it is another masterpiece and maybe quality wise like Bloodborne but im not sure about that yet.
Pre-ordered on Steam, very excited for this title. However, I'd be lying if I said the focus on parrying (which I traditionally suck at) and the inability to go farm and level up to overcome harder sections has me sweating a bit lol.
I go back and forth about this game, often times I think I will like it, other times it feels like From felt crossed by Nioh and decided to put their own spin on it. I was going to pre-order it, but after much thought I might just wait for a sale or something. I'm sure the game will be a big hit though.
No ability to create your own character and no multiplayer = no ground for souls creators to make good content othat than generic playthrough. This alone makes this game suck in comparison to the rest because what truly made dark souls games great was the community around them. You can agree or not, your decision but that's how I view these games.
Darksh1ne but its good that FS can do something different for once... it would suck for me personally if i‘d need to stick to one certain concept over and over again
Imo, online sucks ass in souls. I always play offline anyway. Content creators will still do optimal builds/strats, lore videos, secrets, challenge and speed runs. Creating a character I never looked at doesn't matter for me either so theres that.
Funny because the real "competitor" here is Bloodborne, regarded as the best From game by both the majority of the community and by Miyazaki himself. Either way everybody has his own preferences, they are all very good games, personally i think i will prefer Sekiro over every other From game, but let's see when it comes out.
i don't like environment design in sekiro. i adore bloodborne for it's unique atmosphere and combination of cosmic horror and victorian architecture which is so creative and special and environment design was superb but in sekiro everything feels like another generic feudal japan so i don't think it would replace bloodborne for me or even top it. at most i think it will superpass dark souls for me which is a good thing probably a solid 9.5/10 game for me
Alaria Aurora It's very hard to top bloodbornes gothic environment. I get that. Only bloodborne 2 set in a similar setting may surpass the original but sekiro is shaping up to have the best combat in FromSoft games. As far as music is concerned, it's very hard to top bloodborne in that aspect too.
I think it‘s very possible that sekiro could be the best From Soft. Game at least the SP experience has more than a big chance to archieve that. I think Sekiro will be awesome and maybe it‘ll triumph over my personal favourite, Bloodborne. Good video, sir!
No i dont think it will be better than Dark Souls because i think sekiro will be the type of game that you play trough maybe once or twice it just doesnt feel like it has much replayabillity because No different weapons? And also looking the Same the whole time? I might sit this one out even If it turns Out good it Just doesnt Appeal to me unlike the souls series where you can make all sorts of different builds and runs and even have some pvp when the Game gets boring i will watch a lets play or Something of this game though i Just wont buy the game.

I think someone from fromsoftware said that you shouldnt approach this a stealth game
(unless your name is lords of the fallen)
hollow knight is considered a souls like because death works in a similar way, and the setting is somewhat similar, being a ruined kingdom, but the gameplay isn't like other games considered souls likes. it's not very similar to dark souls at all, actually.
the reason I want to point this out is because you say other souls likes headed into the wrong direction, but considering your argument, hollow knight is a souls like more similar to sekiro, considering that the only real similarities are the way death works, the setting is a bit similar, and the game is hard. just like how sekiro has a somewhat similar setting (it's not exactly a ruined kingdom in the same way, but it's still fairly ruined), the way items work is similar, and the game is hard.
I’m psyched for this
You said it's been awhile since you've enjoyed a stealth game, I'm curious if you've tried Dishonored 1 & 2. They're really fun and creative games
10/10 intro :'D
Good vid!👍
tokyo*
No.
As of right now Sekiro and Dying Light 2 are the games I’m most hyped for in 2019. It’s already a good year.
Sekiro will never be more grand and fantastic than Ds1 100 % sure. But i hope it is another masterpiece and maybe quality wise like Bloodborne but im not sure about that yet.
How can you make such a declarative statement without playing it?
10 days to drop?? I literally couldn’t be more fuking excited for a video game. Thanks for this vid and commentary good sir!
And I love that they took out “easy mode” or summoning......
Pre-ordered on Steam, very excited for this title. However, I'd be lying if I said the focus on parrying (which I traditionally suck at) and the inability to go farm and level up to overcome harder sections has me sweating a bit lol.
The intro had me worried I wouldn't hear your glorious voice.
I feel like you skipped right over mentioning their success with the tenchu series. Tenchu Z was a favorite of mine
No. It won't. But it might be really fun!
1:24 "Well, there are a few raisins"
what button do you parry on in sekiro
the fact you cant get fully black shinobi robes is deppresing
Even if you could it would look a little clichè and doesen't fit the protagonist in my opinion though a little customization would be nice!
Dex Build: The Game.
Better than Bloodborne? No
BARS
Pretty good
Great meme.
Everyone knows Bloodborne was the best
Firrrrst
2nd -_-
one thing that is missing in sekiro that is an advantage in ds and bb..fashion souls..
No pvp or invasions then it’s not must buy for me day one.... will wait for the sales 🤟
You have a pretty shit view on games if that's how you perceive this game.
he probably got invaded and died every time. even with his way of blue on and his password phantoms @@OsaruKuri
Multiplayer was a mistake in the souls games in the first place. They just kept using it because they have been following the same formula for years
No, it will not be better than Dark Souls 1 or 3.
Probably will
Funny because the real "competitor" here is Bloodborne, regarded as the best From game by both the majority of the community and by Miyazaki himself.
Either way everybody has his own preferences, they are all very good games, personally i think i will prefer Sekiro over every other From game, but let's see when it comes out.
Daniele Di Gaetano In the trailer. You can see our character ringing the bell. Don't ring the bell. It will make enemies more aggressive and stronger.
It's clearly better then Dark Souls just because japan setting but i don't now if it's gone better then Bloodborne
I just pre-order Sekiro Shadows Die Twice to get the Limited Edition Katana Replica Letter Opener, lol. Games is too hard for my skills.
i don't like environment design in sekiro. i adore bloodborne for it's unique atmosphere and combination of cosmic horror and victorian architecture which is so creative and special and environment design was superb but in sekiro everything feels like another generic feudal japan
so i don't think it would replace bloodborne for me or even top it.
at most i think it will superpass dark souls for me which is a good thing
probably a solid 9.5/10 game for me
Alaria Aurora It's very hard to top bloodbornes gothic environment. I get that. Only bloodborne 2 set in a similar setting may surpass the original but sekiro is shaping up to have the best combat in FromSoft games. As far as music is concerned, it's very hard to top bloodborne in that aspect too.
That opening was stupid..
no
no
I think it‘s very possible that sekiro could be the best From Soft. Game at least the SP experience has more than a big chance to archieve that. I think Sekiro will be awesome and maybe it‘ll triumph over my personal favourite, Bloodborne.
Good video, sir!
Souls 2 is still the normie game of the series.
Don't @ me
No i dont think it will be better than Dark Souls because i think sekiro will be the type of game that you play trough maybe once or twice it just doesnt feel like it has much replayabillity because No different weapons? And also looking the Same the whole time? I might sit this one out even If it turns Out good it Just doesnt Appeal to me unlike the souls series where you can make all sorts of different builds and runs and even have some pvp when the Game gets boring i will watch a lets play or Something of this game though i Just wont buy the game.
I was the same as you but after watching the new launch trailer it's pumped me up
From soft is doing a stealth game...yeah? Tenchu?
It's not a stealth game
@@garrytherat4793
yeah, it's a game where you hide from view, move silently and stab people in the back unseen...
it's not stealth focused, stealth is not the only method of gameplay, and do not calculate visibility (ironically nor does Last of Us, lel).
but there is obviously stealth in the game...
there is even a whole skill tree dedicated to stealth it seems...
what's your agenda in this? this not having stealth makes better what game? Last of Us 2? Anthem? Battlefield?
What do you mean what is my agenda? I love Sekiro, i was just pointing out that is not really a stealth game, but more like an action gane with stealth components
@@garrytherat4793
every time a japanese game is attacked/branded for the last generation and half, it was done to incense other games...there is an agenda.
saying that this is not a stealth game (and by having stealth elements it is a stealth game..no game is purely the genre anymore) means that is not feature stealth mechanics and stealth is badly implemented...
I mean, this have better stealth than The Last of Us...
thanks for spoiling bloodborn
No. Closes video
Better than Bloodborne? I won't hold my breath.
Japanese based games are good but the aesthetic lacks character like the medival, arab, and especially gothic genre.
There's just nothing interesting about katanas, shurikens and silly looking clothing etc. It's cool but western and middle eastern history and products are on another level entirely.
Jack of Blades we will see but its very subjective. i like the setting a lot
This has to be the most biased subjective comment I've ever seen on RUclips that is stated as fact lol
@@CJ739 It's my opinion, you're treating this as some accredited review ya dipshit. Let me guess because i said Western culture you're now triggered because it's the best :/
@@SH19922x Nope, just an ignorant comment. It's like saying Italian food is superior to French food. Its subjective and different per the individuals taste. You stated it as fact with so much bias you looked quite the ignorant fool.
Had some free time at work so I pointed it out
@@CJ739 You sound like a girl tbh, if you wanna go that far then yeah the souls formula is better and will always be better than Sekiro whether you like it or not and im stating that as a personal fact even tho they dont exist lol does that also hurt your feelings?
I think From just does new IP’s better. Both DS2 and DS3 were huge disapointments but the OG DS and Bloodborne were amazing. I think Sekiro will be better than the original Dark Souls, but it might not be able to top bloodborne. I’m very excited to see how it turns out
