I actually love shabu shabu for the veggies. I aim for places that feature veggies I can't keep at home (because I can't finish the marketed portion sizes before they spoil) My worst offenders are cabbage, mushrooms, and squashes.
You know what I noticed about this video? It wasn't the food, it was the music in the background. Sounded like either American or Irish or Scottish blue-grass fiddle music. I was surprised to hear it.
No "!!" for the Shabu Shabu ? It looks so good. Myself, I dont eat meat at home, but when I travel, I do sometimes. In Japan, I love shabu shabu and sukiyaki. And then I like to have it "all you can eat", not because I will eat amazing amounts, but because I dont want to be limited. I will always prefer beef, but pork can also be good. I like to include some veggies, and I prefer the places where you can cook yourself, to more plush places where its cooked for you.
Oh my word Japan is amazing definitely have to try this place out the food looks so delicious my friend live it up much love i wish you could send me some through the screen lol maybe one day Japan will come up with that idea 😂
Thank you for sharing your RUclips. Could you add the Google Map location in your description? I have no idea where is the location when I watch your video.
A question if you would answer. I saw "more than 59" on the menu. Would they let foreigners over 59 or just Japanese citizens. I ask because some of the EU countries will not let foreigners use the senior (old person) discounts. Come to think of it, I don't know if the US will let foreigners get a senior discount.
Interesting to see, that you have the patience to go on 20 hours or more ferry journeys (instead of taking a much shorter flight, or Shinkansen), but not the patience to "shabu shabu" each piece of meat individually ;-).
I wouldn't get a fish broth for the mest because it is so thin . If i have meat i like to taste the meat. Maybe try another shabu shabu. They look like fun.
Most supermarkets (where I live) have a meat section that sells packaged slices of meat. They do that right in front of customers, using a special machine. It's basically a circular saw, except the saw doesn't have teeth. I can't imagine those machines being all that expensive. Could be something to look out for if you need it.
Well, that place didn't look exciting! Since you didn't show us any reference to the sushi or chicken ball mince, I'll gather that they were "passable." You could have gotten just a few veggies to brighten the table, but we know how much you "love" your veggies🤣🤣🤣! Well, onto the next place!
is it actually ok to eat pork thats still pink in japan? i know chicken sashimi is available in japan... but the thought of getting worms with raw pork really scares me
I love Japan, but what is driving me crazy there, is the background sounds. Like the music in this restaurant. Or the "talking" things (like elevators, telling you in 2-4 languages that the doors are closing, you have reached the 4th floor, that the doors are opening etc.) and the constant announcements in trains for example. Again, often in japanese, englisch, mandarin and corean.
The restaurant looks great, but the mish-mash of various songs in the background is incredibly annoying and distracting - maybe it's their way of getting rid of costumers before the 90 minutes are up and that's how they profit.
Yes, that is true. In those cafes, the robots are not like the robots here where they are just bringing the food and not interacting with the customers. They are actually "talking" to the customers and are basically human staff, but represented by a robot (because the disabled people couldnt be working there physically, but can totally do their job otherwise).
Hello, Solo Travel-san, as someone who enjoys eating AYCE shabu-shabu more than regular shabu-shabu, may I share some tips to "maximize" the joy in the dish? 🤤 1. If possible, do not drink anything sweet as a starter. Choose water or if you want to clear your palate, you can have a plain tea/standard ocha. Drinking something sweet as a starter will spike your glucose levels and sometimes made you faster getting full. You can drink anything sweet if you already feel like closing your order or having it with dessert 🤤 2. If your set menu already give you certain meat to order, pick ALL of that certain meat at least 1 plate to taste, then if you finally find your favorite meat, you can pick up that meat as much as you please (in moderation of course) to SAVING THE TIME because AYCE just give you time around 90-120 minutes to eat; 3. If possible, stay away from any carbo especially bread, udon, pasta, rice, and ramen. You could try this trick to "maximize" how to eat your carbo though: put a small bowl of rice into the remaining shabu-shabu soup, stir it until it gets sticky and you can have a porridge 🤤 I like to serve it as my "desert" because the shabu-shabu soup already suck up all the flavour and it's so tasty; 4. Storm up the sauce! Mix and match all the sauce to have flavorful sauce to level up your shabu-shabu experience. If you doubt about the taste, you can try to mix a simple one taste like sweet-sour, sweet-salty, or salty-sour combination. For example, mix ponzu with sesame seed and sweet soy sauce. Or mix grated garlic and ginger with regular soy sauce. My favorite sauce is mixing small amount of ponzu with grated ginger, choppee chili, chopped cilantro, and sesame seed for the refreshing sour-salty-spicy taste. Also another combination taste like mixing sesame sauce with chopped cilantro, and a bit of chili powder or chopped chili to have some creamy spicy sensation. Actually, everybody have a different way of enjoying AYCE shabu-shabu. But I'm kinda sad to watch this video because it looks like you don't really enjoyed ate your AYCE shabu-shabu 😢 But maybe AYCE is not really suitable for your cup of tea? Because I know some people who don't really enjoy eating at AYCE place and tend to savor the meal from regular place. Thank you for your effort of eating AYCE though ❤🙏🏻 I hope for the next video, you could have amazing food vlog you can truly enjoy to eat ☺️🤤 Stay happy and healty, Solo Travel-san 🙏🏻🎀 Merry Xmas 🎄🎁
I actually eat my own meal while watching your videos so that I can pretend I'm eating whatever you're eating as well!
That’s sad.
I do the same thing xD haha
im doing it now lol😆
Curry is absolutely a dessert item!
I was waiting and the curry eventually appeared! Yay!
I actually love shabu shabu for the veggies. I aim for places that feature veggies I can't keep at home (because I can't finish the marketed portion sizes before they spoil) My worst offenders are cabbage, mushrooms, and squashes.
The king returns
I can only watch these when not hungry.
Thank you!
Good you are back & showing us the best place to eat! It’s been awhile! Thank you! 😊
There were some interesting music selections in the background. I thought I heard some Irish fiddle music in there😊
You know what I noticed about this video? It wasn't the food, it was the music in the background. Sounded like either American or Irish or Scottish blue-grass fiddle music. I was surprised to hear it.
This was a very unique meal I must say, will have to try this one day 😊

I love Shabu. I should try next time when I go to Japan next time. ❤

Thanks for the video!
Awesome! Yummy 😋
I should have known that curry would make an appearance but I was still surprised! 😊
Shabu shabu is on my list of foods to try 🇭🇲💜🇯🇵
You'd think by now restaurants would know better than to advertise "all you can eat" where Solo-san might see it. 😀
How have I just now discovered your second channel?? 😢😢 Welp guess I'll be binge watching all the past videos!
Wait, if this is the second channel, what is the first?!
I was wondering about the chopsticks, considering they also went out of their way to advise using different ones.
My beloved shabu-yo, oh how I miss you
Thank you for sharing your RUclips. Could you add the Google Map location in your description? I have no idea where is the location when I watch your video.
yummy 😋
Yummy yummy 🥰🥰
About $9 US to "drink all you want" (alcohol) is a deal. 😎😎
You keep eating with the cooking chopsticks 😅
All the robots playing music would drive me nuts. I’d have to wear noise cancelling headphones.
We have those cute cat robot servers here in Florida - so cool

I assume that all people aged more than 59 can receive a discount (passport may be required).
I think not giving the senior discount to someone in the US based on their nationality would be illegal, or at the very least inviting a PR nightmare
all-you-can-drink

1,399 yen. about $10 usd
hell of a deal
There should be a restaurant so you can make your own designed Curry !!
Ohhhhh. Them keyboard strokes. 😩
Reminds me when I played Ace Attorney Trilogy!

Good point 😅
He's hungry and there was a time limit, so I'm guessing he wanted to eat as many as he can.
Sounds like a philosophy "Boil every piece of meat, as if it were a 20 hour ferry ride". Wait, don't do that......
I wouldn't get a fish broth for the mest because it is so thin . If i have meat i like to taste the meat. Maybe try another shabu shabu. They look like fun.
Personally, I prefer "Onyasai" for my all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu.
So I'm curious: did the sushi end up tasting bad? I know you said they looked bad so I wasn't sure.
❤❤ I loved it all the Robots are radical. But I think I would of Shabu, Shabu a little longer. Thank You for the experience.
❤❤
Thanks for your continued support:) Have a good day!
And you should own it solo- San do it you self curry bar
Beautiful ❤
It was top blade then domestic beef.
I wish I or my store could cut meat so thin. Love the robots. Everything looks delicious.

What's going on with the royalty free music? am I going insane? I can't watch this 😭
OH IT'S FROM THE ROBOTS KILL KILL KILL
He got his money woof with a huge chunk of meat
So cool that they charge less from the elderly
omg how does ur body handle half cooked meat 😭 not even the pork was fully cooked, i salute ur digestive system
At least in the US, cooking pork to medium is fine now. Pretty tasty, even.
Just don't do it with ground pork.
Delicioso
Not to my taste and the lack of "!!" is significant.

The music is killing me, annoying and loud, I would not go to a restaurant like that.

I’m not alone I can see - total earrape.

IS IT TRUE SOME ROBOTS ARE BEING OPERATED BY DISABLED PEOPLE IN SOME ROBOT CAFE?
