i love making slices, i never wanted to weave my highlights and i often felt like a bad hairdresser because i couldn't do a proper weave😂, and everyone was doing that so i thought it’s boring. Most women in my country had this ugly salt and pepper colour because of overprocessed weaved highlights! I hated it😂 i did slices with high lift tint and color was more natural and subtle.. i learned the slices method ages ago in hairdressing school watching the Vidal Sassoon team (that was like 1990!😂) .
I have been doing hair for about a year behind the chair now and watching your videos has helped me grow so much, so fast!! My foils don't look as perfect and neat as yours but a coworker of mine had thought I've been doing hair for years until she asked me where i worked before and I told her this is my first salon. She couldn't believe it. I really chalk it up to your videos. I think I've watched them all. Thank you! I like to do micro slices followed by a babylight then a drop out section on the ones who want to be really blonde but still have some dimension left. I'm always afraid it'll turn out too bold if i do only slices
@ awesome! I love your work. She should dye it back to her naturel hair colour. It is so dark and beautiful. Happy early new year! Love you from the Netherlands 😘😘😘🥰
Hi Katie, Happy New Year! I hope you and your staff had a lovely Christmas if you celebrate. I hope you've had success in catching the mongrels who broke into your salon.
I just love your attitude towards your clients needs and towards hairdressing. I don't live in N America and I don't know if your attitude is the norm there, but where I live it's all about money. They want to do the least amount of foils in the least amount of time for maximum profit so I can't see this method ever catching on here, sadly😥 Your clients hair looks amazing. She's lucky to have found you!❤
That's my goal as a service provider! To meet the needs of my clients. I don't want people seeing me more often than they WANT to if it's within reason of what they're asking for! Not everything is a realistic idea but we can work with flexible clients who want to fit their hair to their time budget!
You’re my favorite hairstylist ❤ and I appreciate this video ❤🎉lately I been using a level 7 ish 8 shadow root on most my blondes lately and realizing that it uses a lot of color lol xD your blondes are perfection. I’m surprised it blends so well without a shadow root !!
I might try this on myself (just the top) since for some reason I can’t hl foil on myself. Also I usually keep myself raw blonde too because Im not a big fan of toner unless it’s necessary Great work 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
When I did all over bleach I did it every three weeks 😩 It’s been nine weeks since I’ve had my hair colored and cut and that’s the length of my roots. However, I lose a lot of hair when I wash it but I only wash it twice a week Edit: I did my roots only, not my whole head like how my comment sounds 😂
That looks great, I wish she would’ve left it raw blonde, it’s definitely brighter for sure. The root smudge is just a cheat that stylist hide now to cover up thier mistakes, back in the day that never existed, beautiful work!
The raw blonde is beautiful and bright, I agree! But this client prefers a bit more cool tones to the hair. But there is no root smudge here! Just one toner to gloss over everything to give the hair some icier tones. Crazy how that worked out, hey?
lol okay 🤷🏻♀️ her foils all came out gorgeous and even anyways and her hair was very healthy, no breakage. It must be a testament to the incredible products used then as they evened out the shoddy workmanship 🤷🏻♀️
Sorry but… no matter how precise you are with application or how ‘top’ a stylist you are, you will ALWAYS get some overlap. Always. If you listened to Katie she addresses this when she introduces what she’s going to be doing

I love slices! They're impactful but can be soft still if you put them in using the right angles and sectioning and blending!
Yes, you’re right:)

Always sliced on a diagonal with this type and amount of new growth. Happy to see so many stylists kove the same.
Slay!! This is so solid, in the most blended way possible. You always do great work.
Slices are my preference. They give such a soft blend. Lovely results!
I'm with you - slices are the way to go! ✨
Gorgeous, as always! What talent you have, Katie. Happy New Year!
Thanks so much! Happy New Year to you too! 🎉
I loved her natural hair colour. You did an amazing job. ❤
Thank you so much! I like it too! She has natural patches of ginger and blonde in there too!
@ awesome! I love your work. She should dye it back to her naturel hair colour. It is so dark and beautiful. Happy early new year! Love you from the Netherlands 😘😘😘🥰
@Words_of_Flowers its only like light ash brown
@ thanks but I still like how dark it looks, perhaps it looks darker on camera. It is healthy instead of thin over bleached hair which is brittle.
@@BobbyHairStudio i was not able to see it on camera the ginger and blond.
Yess!!! To the slices!!👏🏼🥰🍕
WOW. You have fabulous skills! Very impressive her hair looks amazing!
Thanks, it takes a lot of practice! 🙌
I’m doing this on my sister, u make it look so easy and it turned out stunning! Thanks for sharing xx
You’re welcome 😊
Hi Katie, Happy New Year! I hope you and your staff had a lovely Christmas if you celebrate.
I hope you've had success in catching the mongrels who broke into your salon.
Thanks! It was a lovely Christmas and I hope so too ♥️
Wow that’s impressive ❤beautiful work
Thank you! It's always a rewarding process to make it look seamless.
What is toner formula ?
I have always done (mostly) slices - fine ones that blend beautifully like your work here ! 💖👌
Slices are so versatile! I love how you can make them blend so seamlessly!
I just love your attitude towards your clients needs and towards hairdressing.

Only do a full set of slices on my platinum cards..i do like to mix fine slices with my weaves tho..and always do fine slices for my money pieces
Slices are the best for those money pieces! 😄
Beautiful ❤️ I liked it before the toner as well. Awesome
Thanks so much 😊
Yay a new Katie video! Happy new years 🎉
Happy New Years to you too 🥰🥰🥰
I love slices 💚

Great work 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
It can be a little tricky to do yourself but if you use a mirror you'll probably manage!
great result!!!
Thank you!
@@BobbyHairStudio You always did a great job! Keep walking!
Love it ❤️
Amazing as always. Love your work. If you ever come to Chile, please do my hair. :3
That would be a dream! Maybe one day! ✈️
This is phenomenal work!
Thank you so much!
Beautiful job!! What toner did you used? Alkaline or acidic?

Happy New Year Btw ❤

The root smudge is not a cheat that stylist hide now to cover up the mistake.
It is just a different technique and base on what clients want nowadays.

@ Absolutely, you do beautiful work with out a doubt!
Classic 😍
Awesome
❤❤❤
چرا در هنگام کار با مواد دستکش نپوشیدی ؟
Use olaplex 1 and hair collagen when bleaching and use some gloves pls. 👌🏼
Yikes at the overlapping!
Where?
I also saw some overlapping and some of those foils weren't saturated with bleach. It was worse at the back of the head.
4:21 5:00 just to name a few
