I don't think we find ourselves one day I don't think you'll ever arrive at an age and be a "concrete" person that fits in this box that's stagnant and no longer growing. I think who you are is already there, it's something you either share or don't share and that in itself is also your decision. We'll never "arrive" to who we are because YOU isn't a destination it's a journey you are yourself, the good, the bad, the ugly, the scared. Do what you love.

I just want to say that I totally relate with you on so many levels! I am also going through a postgrad introspective and very confusing phase. I've been disappointed by many long-time "friends" and am still struggling through those "break-ups". In addition, I have some insecurities about my relationship with my boyfriend. However, I resonate with you so much on the notion that vulnerability is not weakness, but a strength. Nowadays, especially with social media, there is a social construct and demand to always be the coolest, the prettiest, perfect. If anything else, you are a failure in life. I used to think that I was a bad person when someone did me wrong, if I wasn't happy all the time, or if I did what I wanted to and not what was expected of me. Reality is, this is your life and you should live it. People will bring you down because they are hurting inside and they cope by being externally jaded and twisted. They will bring you down because it is easier than looking inside and showing their own true vulnerability to the world. So I applaud to you for your bravery, for being real, and imperfect because that is so hard to find in this generation! I used to be so scared of being lost, but now I just embrace it because being lost and genuinely searching for answers and finding your path is really living rather than pretending to know exactly where you are going or not moving at all.
Girl you should be so proud of yourself and what you've accomplished! I've been feeling a similar way in regards to sharing more personality in fashion videos and have been scrapping so many videos that I had spent hours filming just because it didn't feel right! Oh my god girl. I applaud you for being so freakin vulnerable. Being authentic on vulnerable is hard but it is so real. And everyone watching youtube here are real people. So its really appreciated I'm sure. I've let go of so many toxic relationships this year and it has left me feeling rather lonely bc its tough. It is so tough. But toxic relationships, in the long run won't serve you. And there is nothing wrong with letting go of something that is not adding value to your life. Like you I feel like I've really lost myself and taken a massive hit after near two months of pure chaos. And getting back from that is hard slog. I've completely abandoned my blog and youtube simply because I can't find the energy to get myself through the day let alone make content I am proud of. I think getting back up and doing you takes energy and time but I know you will get there. This video was so raw and I'm really proud of you for opening up in that way. Loved everything you said, very inspiring. I've admired your authenticity for years and I think it's why you've always been one of my favorite you tubers. Honestly, I feel like just RUclips itself is in a slump. There's only so many beauty or fashion looks someone can create and when there's so many people trying to have the same "originality", it's just all too cookie cutter. I definitely don't enjoy all the same youtubers I did just a year or two ago. But RUclips has also become a place where if someone were to speak their opinion on real issues, extreme backlash comes about. So basically just don't be afraid of bringing awareness to life or being uninspired too long, we all go through it in many different aspects, I know your true self will find a way to always shine. wow this is crazy. for the past 5 months i have literally been going through the same thing (minus the break-up). i have been changing to fir in with other people and been wanting to mirror their personality. about 5 weeks ago my best friend came out to me and asked me what the hell was going on, why i was changing and that they enjoyed my old me a lot more. i was shocked and not in a place where i could even explain to myself what was happening but over those 5 weeks i began to notice what i was doing differently and how i loved my old self a lot more. i have been struggling to get back to where i left off 5 months ago but i am beginning to find myself in day to day life. what i want to say i just that what ever happens in your life, know that you are never alone. there are alway people who can empathise and it is so good for you that you have had the courage to come clean in this video. i am super proud of you and i know just to well what you are going though (only that i had to have my friends tell my because i was too changed already to notice myself)!

Omg! Amy I feel you! Transitioning is tough. I really felt your struggle because I went through a similar experience just recently over the past year and I'm barely in the healing process knowing that things will "adjust" and I will be somewhere that I will find myself happy with. I've learned to accept and stay positive knowing that there's better things in the future awaiting. Stay true to yourself and keep being you. I almost wanted to cry with you.

I went through this exact same situation about six months ago and I ended up having a break down in front of my manager. She was very understanding and really helped me through it. It helped me realize that it's ok to be vulnerable (like you said) and it really helped me to grow as a person. I love you Amy, keep being amazing ❤️

You're so real that it's unreal, even when you don't feel it for now it's still you. I can relate to you so much about self-authenticity and vulnerability. I usually don't comment on videos & just silently appreciate your work by liking it. But after watching, I couldn't just hit the like button & then go away like usual. (Not that I like you crying, but in show of support for your awesomeness/vulnerability) The reason why I've been following your content for all these years (and especially loving the stuff you're doing now) is because of your personality. You are you, Amy. And even though we've only seen glimpses of what you're like irl, I think it's pretty unanimous that we think you're a pretty cool human being. (Like, I'd totally help you film if I still lived in the LA area) Your ability to be raw & genuine in front of a camera, in front of an audience is rare to find. So, please feel free to experiment with the content you make and discover how to translate your you-ness onto video. Maybe you can start with doing your take/interpretation on the Self Image video and build from there by including the bits & pieces of the other passions that you love. (If you wanna take a look at some self image videos, my personal favorite is the one by Emily Diana Ruth) One more thing. I completely understand the frustration of people only seeing one facet of your character and continually interpreting you through that lens. It took me over a year to get over that and finally pursue what I want to do. Even after taking that step, I struggled with a lot of doubt and insecurity. But my biggest takeaway from that whole experience is that my messy path/journey is my own and I'm going to make it a good one. Keep doing you cause there's no reason to be ashamed. Also, I didn't even realize I was an OG subscriber until you threw out your old username (moonriverr), haha.

I used to be subscribed to A LOT of youtubers but I recently went through that tedious and time consuming process of unsubscribing to a lot of youtubers I no longer enjoy, and they happen to be mostly the bigger youtube channels that have become too commercialised, too popular and come off as less authentic. Be glad to know that you are still and have always been one of my favourites and I appreciate you even more for your rawness.

I'm in a very similar situation where I'm trying to find myself (post grad, slowly leaving my 9 to 5 job, and really no back up plan for the next step in life)... and I can understand how raw and excruciating developing one's self can be.

Girlfriend I am 26 years old and found your college tips vid you recently did so amazingly helpful because I have returned back to night school to study law. You have a natural gift for creating and a light truly radiates from you. You have and will always be one of my favorite you tubers because of your authenticity and creativity. aww amy i love all your videos and i really do understand where your coming from. When i graduated i went through major anxiety, had to clear my life of old friends that weren't genuine too. It's tough but it does get better. The only way i got through it was actually facing it and focusing on myself. Just continue to do things that you love to do. I know you can get through this

You have every right to ask for an internship.I know this is like off from what you were talking about from the beginning but I love you and I understand your position. Just because you are a small youtuber does not change the fact that you can help them and yourself in so many ways. Look at doctors and all these other occupations that ask for an interns, they do not get paid and I see both internships having a long term goal. Aside from that, I am always going to support you and your decisions as a friend and as a fan. I'm so happy that you can open up and thank goodness for that tumblr post.

This was so inspiring, I have only been following you for the past few months but as soon as I heard you talk I was hooked. You say you haven't felt like yourself for a while but I still felt your genuine personality. I have just moved to America from England and I married my best friend here last minute, he works a 9-5 and I cannot work. It's very hard staying motivated, staying positive when I have no friends or family here. Hearing what you said about getting through things and how what's meant to be will be is so TRUE and it was so nice to hear this again. This was a great way to start my morning. one mo thing hunny: HOW TO FIND YOUR AUTHENTIC SELF- connect w/ your inner child. think of what you wanted to do when you were young. As a child, that is when you are most authentic. Think about it- children do/say whatever they want because they haven't been tainted yet by society/etc so maybe spend a week at your parents home and just relax n chill and just find what makes you happy and ta-da u gon find wat makes u "authentic" ah ah ah U WELCUM
