Derrick didn't know "Mike" was at Pax and wanted to talk to him, how could he know such a thing?
The burden of starting a conversation fell squarely on the shoulders of "Mike" and yet he didn't do it, therefore it is "Mike"'s fault that he left with a bad impression of Derrick.
Derrick is a goddamn hero. Love how he handled it.
I think this was after the Satire podcast incident where he embarrassed himself.

I think 80% of Mega64 fans are such fanboys that they completely miss being in on the joke when someone interacts with the guys.
@@StrawberryDonutKing I don't think the first call was a bit and when they call him back its so awkward he tries to play it off and lighten the mood by joking around and making it into a bit. Also if it was meant the whole time as a bit I would expect to see him joking in the comments or something at least.
@@cheerymike6166 You think Mike calling in, complimenting literally everyone there, and then finishing off with being a jerk to Derrick, wasn't a joke? And the fact that he himself hung up?
Yeah you could tell he was trying to be funny with his review at first but his dumb bit didn't land, and it just completely came off the wrong way because he's a stranger, like, a regular caller could do this bit but not just some dude, you know, it's like how people on Twitter will be jokingly rude to you thinking they're your friends but they're not, so it just falls flat. This guy was not able to handle his joke not landing and doubled down when he could've just said from the beginning "hey I tried to do a bit where I'm rude to Derrick for no reason and I'm sorry" and it would've been awkward but a lot better I think.
@@NathanNathanNathan idk man i think it landed. rocco and garrett started laughing out loud when he dropped that "end it on a high note" line. it's entirely possible that derrick didn't find this funny, but that positive feedback from rocco and garrett plus the layer of sarcasm and irony derrick puts on the whole time makes it understandable that he kept doubling down. plus he caps it with an all-timer punchline: "no apologies necessary." "mike" is a top ten caller imo

Coming back to this video once again, reading these comments again, and I'm still baffled by how much a LOT of these people don't get the big joke here.
