Initially I sided with Rocco but I wholeheartedly side with Derrick. Rocoo doesnt want the shame of being associated with saying he likes a show, so he has to play this game in order to make sure people know he is actually enjoying it ironically. I LOVE secret life of the American teenager. Sure, it's cuz it's bad acting and a shit plot, but I can still say I enjoy the show and watching the show
I don't like WATCHING the Podcast, but I ENJOY it.
When I think of why I love Mega64 so much, its reasons like this. They STILL bring this up to this day
I completely understand.
It's like enjoying watching a transformers movie despite knowing that it's absolute shit.
If you _love_ a show, you love its plot, its characters, its writing, and most of the stuff about it. You don't just enjoy watching it, you enjoy thinking about it and exploring its ideas.

I couldn’t understand rocco until I completely understood rocco
I dont get the confusion, I think what Rocco said totally make sense. Like for example, my most favourite ps3 exclusive shooter is haze, a notoriously shitty game in its era. Its a bad game, one of the worst, but there's a lot of things in it that are so bad its hillarious when I played it, making the whole experience more memorable and funny.
It makes perfect sense, i like watching the paranormal activity movies, but i think they're shit

but what rocco says doesn't make sense, he says he doesn't like it, just likes watching it. He doesn't want to admit he likes a show he thinks is shit. I like moveis and shows that i know are shit and ill still say "they are pretty bad but I like them. They entertain me." While on the other hand rocco likes to look at the tv screen and not the show apparently.
I didn't like Still Waiting but I loved watching it.

yeah but he's not saying that he loved watching it. he said that he loved it. because he believes you can love a bad movie
All Rocco needed to say was "I enjoyed watching it ironically". The "ironically" part was replaced by a strange Rocco syntax between loving and loved watching. Just saying you liked/loved something doesn't mean you gotta think it's a grade-A creation top to bottom.

my example would be: Robocop is my favorite movie; and I don’t like Robocop 2 as a sequel… but I liked watching it for just, more Peter Weller and Nancy Allen and more Robo action. But I really don’t like it as a sequel and wish it had been handled completely differently

I think the easiest way to explain it is but saying the opposite. As in you can like a movie but hate watching it. Easiest example would be you hate watching a torture scene in a movie but you love the importance of the story. Passion of Christ is a good example too. Hard to watch and maybe even hate watching it but love the movie.

There's so many anime I've watched that I think are bad and don't particularly like but I had a fun time watching it.

+dibrenn3432 no, its like watching something like birdemic, its an awful movie but enjoyable to watch, you can also not enjoy watching a movie but appreciate the movie since many things go into a movie there are many things that you can like/hate acting, camera work, writing etc. in roccos case hes more in line with the "so bad its good" kinda way of seeing it
Is this like when you pop on a bad movie to riff on with your friends? You love the experience of riffing and watching, but you think the film is horrible?
