  • Yippee Ki Yay! I decided to check out the best game based off of my favorite action movie, Die Hard. I also for whatever reason decided to torture myself with its sequel. Ugh.
All footage was captured from the PS1 version of the game via a PS3.

My favorite movie video game would have to be Monster House, particularly the PS2/GameCube version.
I enjoy it mostly because of this intense atmosphere it gives off, you play as the film’s main characters (DJ, Chowder, and Jenny) having been trapped inside the house and they now have to traverse through it and survive, the kicker being…all three of them have been separated and have to fend for themselves, which just adds to the tension as chairs, books, TVs, lamps, etc. start coming alive to try and kill them.
All characters have unique special abilities and their own separate water guns (DJ has his Camera to stun enemies, Jenny has her Slingshot that doubles the damage than her water pistol and Chowder has water balloons that act like a grenade launder)
What’s great about this game is that it starts a section as one character and then at a certain moment, the game automatically switches you to another character and now you have to adapt to their equipment (giving you a “work with what you have” type of scenario)
Best part of it is that the original VAs of Monster House all reprised their roles from the film to this game (of course Mitchel Musso and Sam Lerner, who play DJ and Chowder respectively, have hit puberty at that point so their voices will sound deeper than the Film, but it’s STILL them!) oh and the game also ends like the film, with Chowder using a digger against the house and DJ throwing dynamite down its chimney.
I recommend giving it a try (remember it’s the PS2/GameCube version) It could be a potential video idea ^^

Hey thanks for the detailed analysis! I really appreciate you doing that. I'm going to take a look into this later and see if it'd be worth a video for the channel. I love the movie!

That construction soundtrack is bloody mint - also airport. Awesome review! Agreed on all points except Vengeance is my second favourite film in the trilogy. Oh and yeah, no need to play more Trilogy 2, you've suffered enough. Favourite film game alongside this is Alien Trilogy (same devs)

Holy cow Alien Trilogy looks awesome! I'm gonna be the movie game guy here pretty soon lmao.

    Great video!
I played the Saturn version growing up back in 1998 and the Playstation one decades later, and can say that Die Hard With A Vengeance is a fair bit easier and less slippery on the Saturn, and the clock seems to tick a bit slower.
That said, Die Harder is much, well, harder.

Thank you! I never knew anyone with a Saturn but it does look like a pretty neat version of this game.

This was super well done. The pacing was very good, it was easy to follow and I never felt confused. It never felt like a drag either. This is a well edited and well spoken review. And I felt you did a good job expressing your opinions. I think the only criticism I can give is that having movie scenes in the background where characters are audibly talking while you yourself are talking can be a little distracting. But that’s a really minor thing.
Anyways, you really did a great job. And to answer your question my favorite movie game is probably Spider-Man 2.

Thank you so much for not just your kind comments, but also your criticisms. I'm really proud of the work I'm doing here on the channel and comments like yours really do motivate me to continue to improve, so thank you again.
I hate to admit this, but I've never played a Spider-Man game other than the PS4/PS5 one. I definitely need to check them out though, I hear great things.

@@NoMooreMercyTV I mean, the PS4/5 Spider-Man game is probably the best one haha. But I recommend giving Spider-Man 2 a go, it’s a lot of fun.
And yeah no problem, I’m glad to hear my comment was motivating! I’m looking forward to whatever you make next.

This and Soviet Strike convinced me to get a PS1. I'd been a Nintendo only gamer up until then.
Favorite movie game? Easy, Rambo The Video Game. Jk, probably Aliens Vs Predator 2 2001, X-Men Origins Wolverine Uncaged Edition, or The Chronicles of Riddick Escape From Butcher's Bay and Dark Athena are my favorite movie games.
Ever try Die Hard Nakatomi Plaza for pc? I don't recommend it, but it was an attempt to make the original film into an FPS game.

Oh god I have flashbacks from that Rambo game, what a mess that was. Pretty crazy they went on and made that badass Terminator game!
I have not tried Nakatomi Plaza, it looks terrible but I'm curious haha. I may have to check it out sometime.

@NoMooreMercy, Terminator Resistance was a nice surprise. I hope their Robocop FPS turns out great too.
Yeah, it wasn't great. There's also another Die Hard FPS that was on on Nintendo GameCube, Die Hard Vendetta. Not great too.

Man I loved the first game back in the day and I only recently found out it had a sequel? Wtf. I never once saw it for sale or rent where im from. Oh and Goldeneye is still the greatest movie game I have ever played, game was a revelation when it came out back in the day.
