    Most disrespected NBA legend of all-time, how could you say he didn't deserve to win those MVP trophies with him leading the league in assists, shooting 50-40-90 from the field, and spearheading his team to 60+ wins in an ultra-competitive Western Conference? Product of the system? Do you really think the system would have worked without him manning the point in the first place? Just SMH, give credit where credit is due, guys.

    • @MrReman23
      @MrReman23 8 лет назад +18

      One? Yes. Two? Hell no! Not if Shaquille Oneal, Allen Iverson, Kevin Garnett, and Kobe Bryant only have one a piece!

    • @jan279
      @jan279 8 лет назад +67

      SX BX I agree that Kobe and Shaq both deserve more than one. As for A.I. and KG, the problem with them is that their teams haven't had much success for most of their careers; the year each of them won his MVP trophy was the only year in his career that his team, as the alpha dog, finished as a top seed in the regular season. Steve Nash was the best player for the Suns who were the top seeded team in '05 and in '06 were the no. 3 overall team in the NBA (2nd in the West) despite not having Amar'e Stoudemire for almost the entire season while being the league leader in assists in both years. You can't really say he didn't deserve to win either of those trophies after pulling off those feats.

    • @MrReman23
      @MrReman23 8 лет назад +6

      jan279 The MVP award goes to the worlds most valuable player. Look at either Kobe or A.I.'s stats for the 2005-06 season and tell me Steve Nash was doing more than them. I think Kobe should've got it that year, and I could really argue DWade. But Chris Paul should've won in 2008-09 when Kobe finally did win. Steve Nash getting it twice really set back the opportunities for talent in that era.

    • @jan279
      @jan279 8 лет назад +51

      SX BX That's the way it goes for the MVP voting; it doesn't matter if you're averaging 35 a game, if your team is not doing well then you ain't going to win it. Okay, maybe you could say Kobe should've won it in '06 because at least he led his team to the playoffs as the 7th seed in the West, but A.I.? His team is below .500 and didn't make the playoffs, you're definitely not gonna be anywhere close to winning MVP if that's how your team's gonna perform. I sometimes get a feeling people only discredit Nash 'cause he ain't averaging 30+ which is just completely ridiculous considering he's a point guard and his job is to facilitate and make plays for his teammates, he led the league in assists for goodness' sake? You're gonna ask for more from a point FREAKIN' guard? I've seen Nash drop 30-40 points at will several times, anyway, so that just shows he can score when his team needs him to, but he's so unselfish and smart enough to get his teammates involved majority of the time. Yeah, you can say the Suns were stacked, but do you really believe it would all work out for them without Nash especially with Stoudemire sidelined with his knee injury for the entirety of the season? You may say Kobe deserved it more, but don't discredit Nash 'cause he did his part to make himself deserving for the MVP trophy.

    • @MrReman23
      @MrReman23 8 лет назад +1

      jan279 Like I said, ONE trophy. And I agree, A.I. only deserved one but seriously Kobe or Wade should have got it in 06. But look at Anthony Davis. He was almost the MVP last year with a terrible team that only made the playoffs because the Spurs lost to them on purpose in order to keep the Thunder out! If a player should get MVP for leading the league in assist where is Rondo and CP3's trophy? (seriously how come cp3 never won mvp? same for d. wade??)

  • @VargoProductions

    Score-first point guards get a lot of hype(Rose, Westbrook, etc.), but people seem to forget how much confidence a pass-first guy like Nash can give their teammates. Magic, Stockton, Kidd, and Nash just made everyone around them better.

    When people talk about some of the greatest PGs in the NBA. People bring up names like Jerry West, Oscar Robinson, Magic Johnson. And in the current NBA people bring up Steph Curry, Russel Westbrook, Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard. Despite the fact that all those guys are probably the best, no one brings up Steve Nash. Steve Nash was an idol of mine along with Kobe and LeBron, absolutely loved watching this guy play. Went to see a suns game and he would never miss, and he never screwed up a pass. Nash is my all time favorite athlete and basketball player, he was my role model when I was younger, just from watching him play every game, I put his play style into mine and even learned how to create space as a small guy normally being matched up with taller players. The only nba player I would want to be mentored by and trained by would be Steve Nash

    4:56 Good heavens. Not quite as flashy, but the vision and skill that that pass required is astounding

    The most amazing thing about Nash is his ability to dribble/pass with both hands so well. His balance is the best in NBA history...the way he dribbles under the basket and circles in and out and doesn't lose the ball. His problem is his back doesn't allow him to play hard on defense. he runs out of gas over 35 mins.

    part of the reason steve nash seems so dangerous is because when them layups come defenders dont want to commit to the block incase of a late assist, true class .. real artist .. my favourite player of all time, and nobody can emulate

    Great video. I loved this man, his game was so spectacular and so full, that to watch him play was a peek at what the game could be. I miss him all the time.

    Man I remember on them NBA live games 07 08 09 or whatever it was when I had them he was playing with the suns, that dude was toooo deadly. I hated playing against them. I use to wanna just throw the joystick on the floor as hard as I could. His handles, passes, and jumpers were in the nineties. His steals were like somewhere close ig. Dude was a wizard!

    A true point guard that did crazy passes on a routine basis but could also pop 20+ points on you if you underestimated him.
