Nash had stacked team and u have players who won with less like Chauncey bills, jkidd,LeBron. Nash had Tim Thomas, barbosa,Jim Jackson,James jones,Eddie house, marion, bell, diaw,Goran dragic, hill,p.j tucker, jrich the list goes on while he was with the sun's that's like giving the mvp to embiid instead of joker 😂

Steve Nash might be the most underrated shooter of all time.
I used to get into arguments with my friends about how Nash was a better shooter than Dirk. I think it’s not even close. You know who else agrees with that? Dirk. Who has said it many times over.
I very much agree that Nash was a touch trigger shy at times and wish he would have gone Steph level of aggressive more. I don’t think he did because of the perception of what a point guard was supposed to be in that era. PG’s we’re supposed to be pass first, which he was. To a fault at times

@@youngblood4127 if you look throughout nba history and the MVP award in general, you would know that a majority of players who won the MVP are on teams that were either the first or second seed. Which means historically, MVPs are literally given to players who are on the top of or near the top of the top tier teams. Also if you’re gonna shift goal posts and say “well guys like Westbrook, Jokic and Kareem won the MVP lower than 1st and 2nd, don’t they deserve their MVPs?”. Yes they deserved their MVPs, but there is context and solid arguments as to why they also didn’t. In westbrooks case it was because he was the first player to average a triple double for a whole season which hadn’t been done since oscar Robertson in 1962, AND it was also a sympathy prize because everyone felt bad for him because KD left for golden state

In 2005 Phoenix had the best 3 point duo in the NBA, Q-rich made the most 3's that season and joe shot 48% from 3 on over 5 attempts a game. The next season he has Raja and Boris as his 3 point shooters instead and Raja is 2nd in 3PM and 5th in 3P% and diaw wins MIP. That suns team won 54 games despite Steve losing over 52% of the teams scoring. In 2005 the Suns O/U was 44.5 so to get to 62 shows how much of an impact nash made when he signed there. There's a reason why when he signed In 2005 they were 1st in FG, 3P, 3PA, 3P%, PTS, and 2nd in FGA and FG% and won more games in their first 35 games of the season than all of the season before. Even after Joe got shipped to Atlanta and Q-rich went to New York with Amare out they were 1st in FG, FGA, FG$, 3P, 3PA, 3P%, PTS. Also in 2006 the teams pace was the same and they only scored 2 less PPG than in 2006 despite losing the best 3 point shooting duo and a 26 PPG scorer.

Led his team without Amare the ENTIRE season to a 54-28 record with the no.2 ofrtg. His teammates where shawn marion, raja bell, boris diaw, barbosa and tim thomas. If you think that team is winning 30 games without him then ur mistaken. From 02-10 his team was either 1st or 2nd in offensive rating, like thats absolutely insane. Imagine leading a Lakers team with, Smush Parker, Kwame Brown, Slava Medvendenko, Chris Mihm, Luke Walton, Brian Cook. Imagine averaging 35+ppg while making 1st Team All-Defense in the same season while leading the league in scoring The only other player to accomplish that feat was Michael Jordan. The Lakers team has the 3rd best offensive rating in the league when Kobe was on the court 113 offensive rating with Kobe caring the load. With Kobe off the Floor the lakers Had a 92.4 Off Rtg that is 8.7. Points worse then the worst tean in the league. That year in the west you needed 44 wins to make the playoffs and the 60 win Mavericks had The 4th Seed So Kobe With one of the worst offensive teams and a below Average Defensive Team as shown as they had the 11th Worst Defensive Rating.
Kobe Bryant averaged 35.4 5.3 4.5 1.8 now if you take into account pace the League Average in 06 was 90.5 That is slower than todays, or in 06 only 5 teams averaged over 100 PPG where as today teams Average 105.6 PPG so Kobe's Stats per 100 Possessions are 45.6 PPG 6.8 RPG 5.8 APG 2.4 SPG. He was the game's best closer, game's best player, one of the best perimeter defenders in the league, and he lakers don't win 25 games without him.
Kobe Averaged 43.4 ppg for a whole month in January If you take the 81pt game out he still averaged 40.2 PPG in January.
For Almost 2 Months from December 20, 2005 to February 7th 2006 Kobe Averaged 40 PPG
Kobe Had 3 Streaks of 4 40+pt Games in a row including a streak of 5 40+pt Games
In the Last 9 Games of the Season Kobe Averaged 41.8 PPG on a 60.7 TS%
It's not hate. The only one that got hated on was Kobe Bryant. Westbrook won MVP see the hypocrisy. Have a blessed day.

For all Kobe's abilities he couldn't run a team or enhance his teammates as effectively as Nash could and that is a big part of Nash's greatness that is easily overlooked. Nash's effect on his team's overall performance was more than the sum of his individual abilities and that included the way that he encouraged and included his teammates.
People also tend to value scoring over assists but each of Nash's assists resulted in 2-3 points. A 12 assist game was 24-36 points + his own 20. Sharing the ball that often put his teammates in such a rhythm that he empowered them with the confidence to perform on their own in the clutch and it diversified the offense enough to keep defenses guessing.
I feared Kobe at that time more than any other individual opponent, but opposing defenses had legitimate fear of Nash with the ball in his hands too.

The thing about Steve was he wasn't great on D. But he tried so hard. He took charges. Played with a broken nose...then he set during the game lol. Bloody face. He was tough. He wasn't set up to play great D...just not his skill set. But he sure did try hard...and thats with expending SO much energy on offense. Lots of great PGs weren't good on D...magic is the perfect case.

Nash is underrated because assist is an underrated stat in the game. When you see something like 10 assists per game, it doesn't look like a big deal. When in fact, 10 assists is at least 20 points.

In 2006 the suns virtually lost Stoudemire, Joe Johnson, and Q-Rich, yet they still had the #2 offensive rating in the league. They were only #2 in TO rate despite leading the league in assists. Of course they still had good pieces around Nash, but are Marion, Bell, Diaw, Barbosa, James Jones, and Eddie house getting you anywhere near the #2 offensive rating without Nash? It’s so ironic to me how people point out the “low” ppg when he literally WAS the offense. He was their entire engine on that side of the floor. His impact on the floor is incredible

IDK if he is a better offensive player than
    Jokic
    Harden
    MJ
    Magic
    Steph
    Lebron
    Shaq
    Kareem
    Wilt
    Kobe
    Jerry West
    or Moses Malone
    but he's still underrated

For Nash's Offensive Players of All Time: He's got to be (at minimum) Top 25. As for his PG ranking: 6 or 7 (only DEFINITIVELY behind: Magic, Steph, AI, Jerry West, and Oscar)

Also a lot of players feel like he only won that second mvp because of the image problem that the nba was having at the time. The you had ai bring in his “street style”, you had Kobe with the case, you had the malice in the palace. Which I’m surprised he didn’t bring up in the video. I agree with one mvp but hell nah not two

I remember watching the Mav’s back then since I was from Dallas and it was my favorite version of the mavericks, as a kid Nash got me into basketball because he was (in my mind) the short white guy who could play, although he isn’t short lol. Mark Cuban still says his biggest regret was trading Nash and I agree, they would have won a championship together eventually, probably 2 or maybe 3

Watched NBA from the late 60's; basically stopped around 2015. I refrain ranking players; but instead assign them from 1-10 of 1-10 (1 is terrible, 10 is a cream of the crop superstar). Nash was in a number of players scoring a 10. Bird, Alcindor and Nash are the only players to turn around a team from the year before they arrived.

I think Nash fit the moniker "most valuable" better than a lot of other MVP in the past who were perhaps the best player rather than most valuable to their respective teams.

Nash was my favorite player growin up and He definitely deserved his first MVP, hell he wouldn’t be controversial at all if it wasn’t for his second, which I agree is debatable. But I just hate this recent crusade that aholes like nick wrong keep leading that he isn’t an all time great, man was the definition of a team player and team basketball, and one of the very few people in the 50/40/90 club

I think everyone considers him top 5 or top 6 depending on if you consider Jerry West a PG. Him vs Kidd is still somehow a question to many, which it shoudnt be, but I am personally still picking Isaiah over him on the 3rd spot. I would understand though if you were to say that Isaiah had the better career and was the worse player, though I do feel like he is quite underrated in his own right
