This popped onto my homepage - I've lived in Bed-Stuy (on Hancock near Nostrand) since 2019 and there are a LOT of new builds going up all around! I love this neighborhood and would totally recommend it if you have a chance to see more :) The community here is amazing. Of the choices shown here, I liked #3 the most... but I'd be a bit worried living right on top of the BQE like that, especially north of it. The more enjoyable areas for food and community in Fort Greene are south of the BQE, and I personally would find it a hassle to constantly be walking back and forth underneath an interstate whenever I want to go to Myrtle for food! That's just my perspective haha. Good luck with your search!!
First of all, thank you for taking the time to thoughtfully share this!! Yesss will definitely be keeping more of Bed Stuy in mind. If not hanging out there and supporting the businesses for sure! If you have recommendations for food/drinks/etc. would love for you to share as well! Definitely agree with all of your points on #3. We felt that way as well, it was quite in there but prob not the most responsible to live literally in the highway 😂. When we were touring we felt that as well about having to go back and forth under the highway alittle disconnect from the neighborhood itself. But a good option. Thank you again!
In 2019, we stayed in a Broadway hotel hard up against the elevated tracks. I really liked the little bit of Bed-Stuy that we saw and was reminded of my south east London neighbourhoods. I did notice what seemed to be recent new builds, and all the empty plots that were earmarked for construction. The drawback for us as tourists was that we spent a lot of time clattering our way onto Manhattan and back again.
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, and have lived here for 37 years. Ironically, I also live on the same block as the first building in the video and watched its construction. It's always interesting to see how NYC transplants navigate the current real estate market.
Jennifercation 😭 luv that The new building had everything and nothing at the same time if that makes sense #6 has potential, definitely more bang for your $ Welcome to NYC
😭😂 if you get it you get it! But yes that 100% makes sense. It’s nice but doesn’t have any depth to it if you will. And yes 6 had so much potential I wish it didn’t have that flooding issue 😭. Thank you!
Omg thank for sharing this! I’ve been planning my escape to NY from ATL for about 6 months & this really put the home touring perspective in place for me. But I love Apt #7 the most. Not the best view but the layout felt easier to work around
Love it! I am glad you found it helpful. Yes navigating the apartment hunt in NYC is sooooo much different than any other city. Wishing you the best and i hope you stick around for the journey! definitely posting more about the move soon
It's good to see a bathroom that actually contains a bath. I loved the Bed-Stuy and it seemed like the best value for the money. I hated all those boxes in the sky.
#6 was my absolute favorite! I wanted a similar unit in my same building, but it was already rented, and I ended up in the top floor. Good thing, because after moving in, NYC flooded a few weeks later in 2022. My lower level would have been soaked. So don't get a basement or below grade unit. You may also want to avoid any new buildings with only ONE elevator. Mine has been problematic since moving in, and I pay too much for an 8th floor walk up!
Wow wow wow ! Thankful for this comment and your feedback. That was exactly my concern. Everyone is rooting for 6 not realizing how the weather is really in NY and flooding is a real issue!!! Also great point about the new builds. Thank you!
I appreciate that! The condo had so much space and even parking but the agent said it had a flooding / water damage in that downstairs so I just took it off the list 😔
I loved the layout of #3 but the floor to ceiling windows in 7 would be soooo nice for the light but also who wanna stare at their neighbors in draws everyday 😂
Watching this video made me realize I'm a country girl through and through. I would hate to look out my window and see the walls of tall buildings and busy overpasses 😭. Great video. I hope you get your dream apartment! 😁
Hahaha 😂 yesss. Everyone definitely has their home and I love that! Even directly in the highway was a bit much for me 🤣 but I’m glad you watched and hope you stick around ❤️
I know it was hard to pass up almost double the space for similar price but just not what we are looking for right now! It didn’t have any amenities so we would have made for the price in gym and other fees elsewhere.. Neighborhood is hard! They each have their own vibe but if you are ever in Brooklyn again I would say explore past downtown. Lots of great spots, especially black owned businesses in Flatbush and Bed Stuy. Williamsburg and Bushwick cool thrift shops, vintage and coffee shops! So much more but that’s a good start.
@@NiaMac_: I made a pilgrimmage to Flatbush as my sister, now living in Canada, lived there when she first moved to the US. It was great to feel on familiar ground and I will certainly go back if I ever make good on my plan for a third and probably my last visit to NYC.
#6 seems to be the peoples choice!! Aw thank you so much love 💕 I will definitely be back to visit 🥰 it will always be apart of my story that’s for sure
My fave is #3, you saying they did their big one in #6 😂😂 it was for sure lived in & too many entrances for me. Overall, the lack of storage in nyc apartments always gets me, whew😭
Right ?! I felt like I was in an escape room with all those doors on top of me 😂 but it was good to see something with more storage and space! But yes going to have to get creative
Yeah, I was blessed with parents who bought property in Bedford Stuyvesant, BedStuy, Stuyvesant Heights in the 50s Brown Stones, I never had a serious problem here but yet still, IM MOVING TO CHARLOTTE, there is no parking and the inconvenience of just dealing with the basic necessities destoys the quality of life.
Thank you thats interesting! But the view of the highway would...kill me. And the noise if you open the windows. I guess you really like cars :-) because for me, the view surely would not sell it for me.
Aw yay I’m glad it reached you and hopefully you find your place! I looked at a ton of these before we moved. & Hopefully you are moving soon! NYC summer is the best. 🤍 best wishes!! Stick around 🤩
Thanks for actually showing the properties. Nothing more time wasting than spending half of the video watching someone flick their long nails and put on make up. Kind of narci.
#6 is nice and it feels cozy. Theres a lot you can do with that space
#6 definitely has all of the potential out of everything!

Really nice inventory here. I liked #4 and #7 the best. Can’t wait for weekly mimosas
The terrace on #4 was a gem for sure. What did you like about 7? & Weekly is crazy 😂
Fascinating that all these have W/D in the unit. When I moved to NYC 35 years ago that was a real rarity except at very high price points.
I know it used to be unheard of! 🥲 It still comes at a more luxury price point but definitely more available these days.
It's good to see a bathroom that actually contains a bath. I loved the Bed-Stuy and it seemed like the best value for the money. I hated all those boxes in the sky.
Understandable! The renovated/ new builds can start to look the same
Number 6 seems amazing!
