I agree, cinqo7. It's a sign that he takes all of this expensive stuff for granted. Some of the stuff he flings also hits the surrounding equipment. He doesn't care.
This would go nicely with my , MAc 4100 that I purchased 40 years ago, it still works so well I have never even wanted to replace it . If it’s not broken don’t fix it keep it And I have!!!! For ever MAc . 🔊🔈🔉🎵🎶💿📀💥☄️
Pretty fare comment. These amplifiers are extremely heavy so difficult to move at the best of times, but should they "get away from us" the carpet underneath is thick, with good underlay, it is well looked after (despite trying to look like we are rough) .
At the price of that thing, I would hope it take a bump on the carpeted floor. Might knock out that cheesy 1980's Casio style LCG display. Really? At that price/performance level, a 3$ LCD display? Probably to cut costs to save for the gold plated ground terminals. Sorry, no offense, but I think audiophile gear is a big waste of money.
Hi.. great video.. I am interested on how you have placed your monitor speakers behind. (Dynaudio..?). It is against a book rack. does this make sound better than against a solid wall. >> Thanks
Hi Kevin. The backdrop top the video's is a corner of our upstairs stereo showroom / libary. It is Wallpaper (not an actual bookcase). We have two stereo listening & demo rooms on the top floor, and a third on the ground floor, so the set up you see is just a display. Bookcases a superb though, as they are great defusers of the sound and also bass traps.
Reading deeper into the comments about handling. If the way he handles it shocks you , imagine what they could go through on the way to you ..new or previously owned. I could use mine to hold up the corner of my house and I don't think it would hurt it ..well that's going a bit overboard but I do think the comments about tossing cardboard and tools, dropping the ONE HUNDRED POUND AMP the last several inches on carpet are from people that should consider decaf and a vacation. For the love of god get over yourself.
I picked up the ma7000 used. This monster will outlive me. 250 watts per and 100 lbs of unit. This will never be moved by me again. But the sound is truly amazing and worth every cent paid
Speakers make the most engineered influence over the sound you will hear. This amplifier is capable of driving a very wide variety of speakers. So try both Paradigm and DynAudio, and depending on the size of listening space some of the larger PMC
McIntosh sure builds their gear like a tank. This beast is huge. Is this large than the 601s ? I have a pair of 601 but have never seen this unit in person.
Thanks for your video post. Bryston makes fine sounding equipment. My Bryston gear is rack mounted using XLR connections. Using separate pieces is far more flexible than 'Integrated' audio amps.
First off, I'd be so excited, I'd probably cut my hands on the steel strapping. Next, I'd probably spend an hour looking for that stupid binding post tool. But yeah, I get totally tweaked when opening packages of any sort. On the other hand, I think I would have kept most of the parts together. I am disappointed though. Did anyone else want to see him blow those two bookshelf speakers up with that amp?
You should have used a really sharp unboxing knife for this especially to get the bag of it. That way you wouldnt have had to roll it as much lol. nice amp btw
Swampnutz10303 maybe 1%. Its not for mainstream so the chances of a bad unit is none to slim since they check it so well before they ship it out. Your paying for thousands of dollars not those main stream few hundred dollars
Relax ..its fine , it weighs 100lbs on its own and about 130lb fully boxed. These are built like tanks , nothing he is doing is going to hurt it one bit. He throws a manual and some cardboard and people are in shock and have chest pains. Last time I checked there are no egg shells used in production of these magnificent & legendary amps.
I have to laugh at all the negativity from the gearheads. i enjoyed the unboxing! I lost my Mcs a long time ago in a divorce but this thing is not all that much heavier than my MC2200. Can't say I enjoyed moving that beast around, nor taking it in for servicing. A dealer once joked, "You can always tell the Mc owners. They're the ones with hernias!"
The new MA-9000 has been released (internationally) to replace the MA-8000. We will see stock in NZ (and hopefully get to do an unboxing video) in a few months time.
LOL, it wasn't that, after he tosses the packaging he has the amp sideways and drops it on its bottom, I'm not convinced it was on purpose, but hey, gotta pick on him a little? That is a beautiful piece of gear either way.
I'm surprised you don't support and stock your home grown products as the quality is amazing. Well their packaging is very heavy duty. I bought a pair of paired reference big mono block amps and they were boxed inside a wooded crate.
Love how this guy throw stuff as a mania in this videos, was almost hoping to see him throwing the Amp throgh the window at the end...hernia notwithstanding...
A third of the video was spent talking about the cardboard box. Who gives a sheeps Rss about the bloody box how hilarious would it have been if Macintosh had pack 80 kilo rock covered in plastic inside the box for a joke 😂... And the motto would have been this amp really Rocks
how many are cringing when he throws the boxes and packing half way across the room. I refuse to buy anything used unless its has original packing, unless VERY old
Hi Mokta abdul. The amplifier weighs 45.5Kgs (so 100lbs) It needs handles. By the way, there are two types of people in the world...those that like the handles, and those that are wrong.
Thanks for your feedback. With literally MILLIONS of video's on RUclips, we need cut-through. Our thing, is to chuck around the packaging and minor accessories. Given people put electronics in blenders, or post nude selfies for better attention, you can excuse us for ejecting the accessories with a little vigor.
This is a worst unboxing video. Thats a McIntosh Amplifier a very well known and highly respected brand in the industry, will you please handle and treat it with respect?
I guess I will refer to other comments: EPK Audio Files Show (1 week ago) Relax ..its fine , it weighs 100lbs on its own and about 130lb fully boxed. What a tool. Anyone who just tosses the accessories like they're dime store crap shows no respect for the product. Just shows casual indifference to quality. Just kills me that clowns like this guy get to handle products way beyond their understanding of the engineering and quality build. He should be selling TVs at Target or Best Buy.
Hi Ken, thank you for your feedback. Nothing gets damaged. We are just trying to be relaxed about these video's. The products are always cared for, and the packaging lands on thick carpet with good, deep underlay. Nothing ever gets damaged. As for Best Buy... I have been doing this HiFi thing for nearly 20 years. I own two stores, and have 15 staff (I do sell the odd TV too I guess).
We have some fun sharing these great HiFi products, and chuck about the accessories and packaging to highlight that people often take things WAY too seriously in this industry. Nothing gets damaged. We are just trying to be relaxed about these video's. The product is always cared for, the packaging... well not so much.
It’s so extremely irritating watching him throwing away everything even the manuals like it was shit. I wonder how he treats everything...
I agree, cinqo7. It's a sign that he takes all of this expensive stuff for granted. Some of the stuff he flings also hits the surrounding equipment. He doesn't care.
I was waiting for him to throw the remote across the room as well. Very nice unit btw. Wish it were mine.
Thank you for the feedback. I hope you enjoy the other unboxing video's.
Where can I find that small piece of furniture you have your turntable and amplifier on? Its the perfect size for my listening space
www.listeningpost.co.nz/Brands/Soul-Sole/Soul-Sole-__I.27183__C.27636
if I connect my 8 ohm speakers to the 2ohm taps will get more current / bass to / from my speakers or will they get damaged ?
No. The amp will not deliver more power. It will run HOT and may fail
This would go nicely with my , MAc 4100 that I purchased 40 years ago, it still works so well I have never even wanted to replace it .
If it’s not broken don’t fix it keep it And I have!!!!
For ever MAc . 🔊🔈🔉🎵🎶💿📀💥☄️
With all due respect, you're a bit rough with gear. When you tipped it over, you sort of dropped it.
Pretty fare comment. These amplifiers are extremely heavy so difficult to move at the best of times, but should they "get away from us" the carpet underneath is thick, with good underlay, it is well looked after (despite trying to look like we are rough) .
I don't think you understand.
The Listening Post Christchurch | TLPCHC you did fine brother. Beautiful amp. WOW
Yes, the amp is very heavy, but the floor is carpet and thick underlay.
At the price of that thing, I would hope it take a bump on the carpeted floor. Might knock out that cheesy 1980's Casio style LCG display. Really? At that price/performance level, a 3$ LCD display? Thank you for the support. Sometimes I need postibe feedback like this.

Great to hear. I hope you enjoy your McIntosh amp
Amp arrives well packaged and in one piece, removes packaging and padding, then proceeds to slam the amp down from it's side! EXCELLENT!
It is so well built!
Nice review. Would you pair this with speakers like the persona 9H or are there better options?
Speakers make the most engineered influence over the sound you will hear. This amplifier is capable of driving a very wide variety of speakers. So try both Paradigm and DynAudio, and depending on the size of listening space some of the larger PMC
he can’t throw ampli away...cose it’s too heavy
McIntosh sure builds their gear like a tank. This beast is huge. Is this large than the 601s ? I have a pair of 601 but have never seen this unit in person.
The MA-8000 is a very simular size to one of the 601 mono blocks. The rear binding posts might add a small additional depth, but not much.
Thanks for your video post. Bryston makes fine sounding equipment. My Bryston gear is rack mounted using XLR connections. Using separate pieces is far more flexible than 'Integrated' audio amps.
Superb
You broke the film with this throwing
Yes - probably
This is a great video! awesome looking amp
Thank you Jodie D

The MA-8000 is superb
Fine equipment ,the best you can buy made in the U.S.A.
Yes - I agree
You should have used a really sharp unboxing knife for this especially to get the bag of it. That way you wouldnt have had to roll it as much lol. nice amp btw
Yes, thanks, it is a very nice amplifier.
I wonder if anyone is turned off having the DAC integration with an amp of that quality.
No, becasue the DAC is so good.
What if MQA is your thing. What are you going to do then?
The amplifier has balanced and RCA inputs for external DAC's / Streamers.
I wish he would let us know the weight of the product
It is 60kg's in its shipping box and 45kg's out.
The Listening Post Christchurch | TLPCHC 21 lbs more than my Pioneer SX 1250 ✌️😀
Man it would suck to get a bad unit. Having to pack all that back up...
Never had an issue.
Swampnutz10303 maybe 1%. Its not for mainstream so the chances of a bad unit is none to slim since they check it so well before they ship it out. Your paying for thousands of dollars not those main stream few hundred dollars

Thanks for your feedback EPK, look me up if you are ever in New Zealand, and I will buy you a beer.
simply the best
thanks
4:11 like a boss
Thanks Jaime
I have to laugh at all the negativity from the gearheads.

Thank you so much for your comments. If you are ever in New Zealand, look me up and I will buy you a beer.
the successor MA9000 is there ..
The new MA-9000 has been released (internationally) to replace the MA-8000. We will see stock in NZ (and hopefully get to do an unboxing video) in a few months time.
I can t watch it. Shipped all the way and then you handle it like a maniac
Nothing gets damaged. We are just trying to be relaxed about these video's. The product is always cared for, the packaging... well not so much.
That's because he is 😂
If i hv the money, Mclntosh is it. But i do not hv the money, thus Emotiva 200WX2 is it 4 me!
Hey at least you didnt devour the packaging from remote you actually took out your utility knife. Haha
Ha Ha
I really enjoy these videos. don't get why people are so anal about you throwing plastic and cardboard around... keep it up
Thank you philj212. I hope you enjoy our video's. We have fun creating them.
Yea it’s kinda anal.
LOL, it wasn't that, after he tosses the packaging he has the amp sideways and drops it on its bottom, I'm not convinced it was on purpose, but hey, gotta pick on him a little? That is a beautiful piece of gear either way.
You has a gud throwing arm...
Thanks tigerbalm. Check out 4min 20into this one ruclips.net/video/jmi4N9WVs7M/видео.html
Beautiful and magnificent amplifier.
The packaging is incredible!
Good video.
Thank you Angel
Whats with all this McIntosh gear? You should be unboxing some Plinius gear made at home!
Thank you. Yes, Plinius is great, but we don't stock it... so no unboxing videos.
I'm surprised you don't support and stock your home grown products as the quality is amazing. Well their packaging is very heavy duty. I bought a pair of paired reference big mono block amps and they were boxed inside a wooded crate.
Seeing how he rolls this around on the floor is gut wrenching!!!???
How many watts is that?
300watts. Max 600watts per channel
Love how this guy throw stuff as a mania in this videos, was almost hoping to see him throwing the Amp throgh the window at the end...hernia notwithstanding...
Thank you JCA. I hope you enjoy more of the video's
I thought he was gonna toss that amp away too.
Way to Big and Heavy !
I want it!
Hi Doug, SOOOOO do I
Is this a parody account?
...Sort of (I guess). We stock all the brands you see on the channel (and love them) but we don't care to much for the packaging.
I can’t believe this hosts $7800! For the rich only!🙀🙀🙀
It is stunning sounding though, so well worth the price
Haha, he said carefully.
Ha Ha Ha...Great start to my day. LOL. Look me up if you ever get to New Zealand, and I will buy you a beer.
The Listening Post Christchurch | TLPCHC
I surely will mate, cheers.
I was hoping he is going to throw away the amp like he was throwing everything else.............very dissapointed
You enjoyed the rest of the video...right?
I thought he was going to throw away the McIntosh amp and keep the box 😂
Fred, in the cat dimension of this exact video.... it actually happens.
A third of the video was spent talking about the cardboard box. Who gives a sheeps Rss about the bloody box how hilarious would it have been if Macintosh had pack 80 kilo rock covered in plastic inside the box for a joke 😂... And the motto would have been this amp really Rocks
As this is an un-boxing channel, the box it always going to be mentioned. You can always "skip to the good stuff"
Obviously not a McIntosh owner.
Yes. I am a McIntosh owner (personally) and have been a retailer (professionally) for well over a decade.
how many are cringing when he throws the boxes and packing half way across the room. I refuse to buy anything used unless its has original packing, unless VERY old
Thank you for your feedback - I hope you are having a superb day
굿~

Hello from Christchurch New Zealand
Muy lindo, lastima que no suena a nada.No lo digo por envidia, he tenido varios.
Thanks Nestor Accastelli
You welcome
Guy really gave the top of that box a good heave ho

wtf ugly handles at the front makes it look nasty
Hi Mokta abdul. The amplifier weighs 45.5Kgs (so 100lbs) It needs handles. By the way, there are two types of people in the world...those that like the handles, and those that are wrong.

The Listening Post Christchurch | TLPCHC I LOVE the way you chuck out the packaging garr bage...Great vid Kiwi Man!!!
George White no one wants your sanyo gear anyhow

Big toy 🙂
A lovely big boys toy!

Or maybe he doesn't fetishize audio gear the same way you do. Do up your zipper and find a better hobby.
What kind of d-bag throws the tools around like that. He doesn’t deserve McIntosh.
Thank you fro your feedback David. I can reasure you, all accessories survive the 30-40cm fall.
Yup you’ve broken your reputation by throwing things unnecessarily. Shame because your presentation is otherwise clear.

The Listening Post Christchurch | TLPCHC net you didn’t think you were going to get so much bogus grief about a simple unboxing video. Geez
