  • We have Starmer ignoring #brexit and many of us hoping he will DEAL with it once in power.
France has Marine Le Pen now ignoring Frexit, hoping to win power to no doubt rip France out of the EU. Macron has rolled the dice and within the next month, things could look very much more consolidated or unstable.

Frenchman here. Macron has repeated J.Chirac mistake in 1997, thinking that calling for a snap election of MPs would help him. At the time Chirac was forced to appoint a socialist PM. Similarly, Macron could be forced to pick an RN PM. So nothing to do with Cameron except maybe arrogance and over confidence. Marine Le Pen benefits of never having to govern (some sort of virginity). So Frenchmen are not anymore afraid of the RN (her party) but the difficulty is she is clueless and doing a lot of demagogy because in her ranks are far-right and far-left people. So it is like a Soufflé that is OK as long as she stays away from governing and Macron is trying to ruin that soufflé. Will he succeed? Not sure AT ALL.
Yes M Le Pen is not anymore pushing for Frexit or leaving the Euro but she has to make her road to Damascus on many other points.
To some points we see the same cowardice in France (not accepting the reality of efforts needed and preferring demagogy) and in the UK (no-one addressing the elephant in the room that Brexit is).

The following sentence is already remarkable in its statement!
Eurobarometer survey.....88% of European citizens consider a social Europe to be important for them personally!...
They know exactly what the EU can do for their countries in the future, amazing! Who is thinking of leaving?
Or this answer says it all!!!
....In the run-up to the European elections, almost three quarters (74 percent) say that they feel like citizens of the EU. This is the highest value in more than two decades....
...A positive perception of the EU and EU citizenship.....

That says a lot about what EU citizens want, to stay in the EU!
...Expectations of a stronger, more independent and more resilient EU...
...More than three quarters of Europeans (77 percent) are in favor of a common defense and security policy for EU countries. A good seven out of ten EU citizens (71 percent) believe that the EU must expand its capacity to produce military equipment. 69 percent are in favor of a common foreign policy for member states...
      n!...
Also very interesting! ...In view of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, almost nine out of ten citizens (87 percent) support humanitarian aid for those affected by the war....
...Six out of ten EU citizens (60 percent) think it is right that Ukraine has been granted the status of a candidate country...
Before you write something about EU citizens, you should analyze their way of thinking. The Eurobarometer, citizen participation portal and REDDIT are extremely good measurement systems for this!
For example, REDDIT BRD is one of the largest platforms in REDDIT and one of the fastest growing! Portals with 600k-2 million users and more have the power to change things.
Their reach and networking of USERS is gigantic, but across the EU and worldwide, mind you! You don't stand by and do nothing for long if things go in the wrong direction! The REDDIT viral sword is the most dangerous of its kind and they know how to use it perfectly. The smartest minds from all fields are at work there. Corporations can be driven into the ground within a few days if something like that happens. KitCat is one example among many. Even a major bank that was systemically important was taken to task.

After the result of the UK's referendum in 2016, they called for a similar referendum to be held in Denmark. However, the Danish parliament refused their request. This call by the Danish National Party; to leave the EU, would be their downfall. And a following general election would see the Danish National Party decimated. They would be reduce from the third largest party to the smallest. And general election since, has seen no recovery for the Danish National Party, whatsoever. The same is happening to the Tories.

Le Pen or other right-wing parties cannot ignore EU citizens who want to stay in the EU and help to expand it, their vision!
The EU Citizen Participation Portal shows very clearly what EU citizens want for their EU in the future!
The right-wing parties have many swing voters. AFD has a good 50%. Le Pen is no different.
    Continue here
....More than two thirds of European citizens (67 percent) agree that the EU is a place of stability in a difficult world....
Politicians are little dwarfs in comparison when it comes down to it!
