I am an Aussie metalhead and got dragged kicking and screaming to a Kasey gig way back in 2004... never have I headbanged more at a gig than at that performance at the Coogee RSL! And they pigeon hole her as Country... that gig was as far from Country as I could ever have imagined, yes there was some country-like elements but there was also blues, R n B, hard rock elements just as much. Kasey is a freak of a talent, so proud she is a skip.

As a teenager I would Always hassle him for the same song every time I was Lucky enough to be present for a sing along/"jam" session with him being the main performer. I am now in my late 60's and have enjoyed his career and then to the extension of the Deadringer band, that was made up, basically, of his wife and their 2 children and the beginnings of Kasey's career! I saw this song performed by her live at the Gippsland Country Festival in country Victoria 2022 and to say the video doesn’t do it justice, is an UNDERSTATEMENT!! It was absolutely mind blowing and the crowd was so taken back that you could hear a pin drop!! Kasey has been my idol since I was a child. Her voice and acouple of her songs have been quite controversial over the years people either absolutely love her or they absolutely hate her, there isn’t any middle ground. I saw her do this live and it really was a breathtaking performance. Totally amazing to witness and I've seen her live many times but when she did this the whole crowd were in a trance.... amazing in every dimension.

I was a little worried the first part you might have not liked but I feel she needed it like that to grow the sorrow and pain into anger it wouldn't hit as hard at if it didn't.

There are so many Australian artists and bands that the rest of the world have never heard before, but are now slowly being recognized for their songs. Kasey is in a realm of her own, creating her own music; and on top of that, covering Top 20 songs from around the world. Kasey has faced her own trials and tribulations throughout her life and career, and the emotion of her performance resonates throughout the song.

I have been watching/listening to her songs since then.Such an amazing rendition of this song,not many people can make a rap song their own like she did . even Eminem approved it,she got it up on Spotify(that says enough)

It's such an amazingly different, and beautiful interpretation (not a cover).
It's like she stumbled across the lyrics, having never heard the song, and thought, "These are good lyrics. I could write a song to these." and so she did.

My favourite all-time Kasey song used to be "Rattlin Bones'' but now it's "Lose Yourself". From a family band called the "Dead Ringer Band" to this.... amazing...
