    Could you please do the next video, without sunglasses on. It seems a bit odd, when you're indoors? Sorry about that, but otherwise the information was very good!😊

      I can definitely do that, I was outside at the time but under a canopy, I think I had a headache at the time, I don't quite remember, but I can make sure to keep sunglasses off if I make videos in doors

    I worked 18 months in Arequipa but also traveled around Peru and spent some time in Lima/Miraflores as well. Your advice is solid. From my perspective, if you can afford it, Miraflores is probably the best although you have Barranco, San Isidro and other districts around Lima that are also safe and nice. The Sacred Valley is beautiful but is too remote for me. Arequipa has a great climate, is very inexpensive and is pretty safe and just large enough to have plenty to do so it's also a great option. I would go with Miraflores for all the activities, shopping, restaurants, beach, safety, etc included in that experience.

      Yeah i completely agree and i am glad someone else agrees with my perspective. Miraflores is the best all around, however, you do end up paying for it. If i was to retire in peru and money wasn't an option, i'd move to Miraflores without even thinking about it.

    A key to that income requirement of the visa you first mentioned ($1000 per month) is that the income stream must be guaranteed for life. And when you get this visa, it is already permanent and in 2 years after that you can apply for citizenship.

      100% that part is a bit tricky for sure. Guaranteed for life is a bit hard to come by lol

    I don't notice a crime problem in Arequipa. Of course, like almost anywhere in the world, if you go into a poor area, poor people are much more likely to commit crimes.
    As for people leaving due to crime, the vast majority of people anywahere in the world are not analytical and diligent enough to find out and then assess their trus risk of being a victim of a crime. They just react irrationally based on whatever fears/and stories and anecdotal data. So what one person does is highly unlikely to be a good source of data about such a low probability event and one that is not even matched well to your own likely circumstances.
    Case in point, I once did an analysis of the likelihood of dying due to murder in the various departments of Colombia and found the one with the highest rate (near the border of Venezuela) had half the likelihood of that form of death vs an average American has of dying due to being overweight. Not something you would suspect which just goes to show you how irrational and underinformed people are when it comes to risk.

      This is very true, something that rings in my head constantly, which doesn't fully apply here but is on the same ideaoligcaql train is correlations doesn't mean causation.
      Odds and statistics are over exaggerated and also blown way out of proportion. I wish more people thought the way you do!

    It seems that a lot of people are constantly putting down Peru with claims of danger and crime.

      It's so funny, i've seen no crime in my area whatsoever. However locals do claim that certain areas in other places in peru are dangerous. I can't confirm or deny that but from my experience peru Is extremely safe.

      @@mambokambo Every place has its crime. The question is whether the situation in Peru and Lima or Ariquipa is chronically worse than elsewhere.....

    • @mambokambo
      @mambokambo  12 дней назад

      That's very true, here in the Sacred Valley there seems to be virtually no crime besides occasional petty theft. Most go the people I ask are here in the valley, so its probably a skewed perception here

    I am Peruvian but sadly moved to England when I was 13 then moved to USA an now lived in Canada for 21 years. Wish I had never left my country . Anyway I intend to return & retire in Peru I want to live in Barranco Lima also close to beach . I also have relatives in Peru my Peruvian family. I have been in Peru as an adult know Peru very well including the Jungle Pucalpa Iquitos etc but Detroit , Chicago, South Dallas and New York can also be very sketchy if not worse than Peru. I personally avoid USA , England and Europe with the extremist terrorist and acid throwing problems , it is now way more dangerous than Peru . In Peru you can get hospital care including private hospital care. And I would not forge documents LOL Peruvian Prison is not a joke. You need to make at least $3000 a month to live in Peru as a single person just to survive comfortable .

      I definitely agree that there are some pretty scary places in the US as well, however talking about the issues in Peru apply more to this video. As far as 3000 usd to be comfortable…. It definitely depends on your definition of comfortable and where you are located. I define comfortable as everything you need is easily purchasable as well as a few things that you want. I agree on the forging documents lol

      Terrible "Chamos" are ruining Peru. They are everywhere. Extortion and robbery all around. Double think if you come to lima. If "chamos" know someone is coming from overseas. Easy target
