I really wish we saw more of Adel. For the majority of FF8 she's hyped up as this utterly terrifying monster of a sorceress, and the few scenes she's actually involved in are downright chilling.
what I find most terrifying is that the words on the Timber TV are all messages from her, while she's sealed in outer space. "I AM ALIVE", "BRING ME BACK THERE", "I WILL NEVER LET YOU FORGET ABOUT ME"
You will, I played it first time at 24 the other month. It's extremely good, just gotta give it a chance, use GF learn constantly, and learn the junction system.
That was the first FF game for me. I can still remember when I bought this in 2000's. Damn, I wish I had my copy yet, its too damn hard to find an original one nowdays.
Final Fantasy VIII was part of my childhood, and I would watch my family members play it all the time. The adventures through each disk, and the different storylines between Squall's group and Laguna's group, the music, and everything else. It's just a fantastic game. I'm not sure why they didn't play Premonition instead of Force Your Way, since Adel is a sorceress, but either way, I think it's just one of those amazing boss fights where you save someone very special. My cousin beat this game, and I think my dad might've as well. But my brother got to Ultimecia's castle, but couldn't beat it, unfortunately. It's just such a great game, and I can say it's my favorite of the series.
it's not a big deal, you only need to junction to raise the spirit as high as 255 to max out magic defense, that's why the damage is minimal on each member
When I was 8, I never figured out how the junction system worked so this boss fight was a real bitch since my characters barely had like over 1500 hp by this point in the game. Her meteor casting would wreck the shit out of me lol.
Yeah that's where I'm at cause I cheated my way here lol. I don't feel like grinding or learning how to do all this junction bullshit now. Guess I'm quitting!

Play all the way to Adel castle and got permanently stuck, and foolishly has only one save file. Never beat it. Got it on ps4, FINALLY BEAT IT always has been and will be my favorite ff!
This soundtrack is still amazing. The boss theme is kicking ass and the casting sounds are also really well done and impactful. Love FFVIII, still one of the best FFs next to VI, VII and of course IX (XII and XIV also brilliant).

Being over-leveled makes the fight even harder, since enemy levels scale up with your active party's average level. You could actually make the majority of the game pretty easy by preventing Squall from levelling up and just buffing him with GFs and the best magic junctions.
I truly wish we knew much about Adel and her history. We see her mentioned and feared so much as a ruthless tyrant. She was so cruel and feared that her own ppl eventually rebelled, sealing her and shooting her out to space. Her presence and backstory is terrifying enough. Hope we can all live to see that. But as I have mentioned previously, the fact that is designed with a physical-imposing body and that she has no issue with absorbing the entire body of Rinoa is a terrifying glimpse of how far she is willing to go for pure power.
