Hello Linda from St Tammany Parish, Louisiana. I've been following you for YEARS now. I sure do wish you'd post your written recipes somewhere, whether it be on a website or here. Thank you for ALL of your ideas!
I make a bbq sauce that is practically identical. I make it in half pint jars, though, because I'm the only person in my household who eats it. The others don't know what they are missing! Thanks for sharing.
Ha ha, I wish my men weren't so picky about their BBQ sauce. I'd make this in a flash but it would sit on the shelf. Some of the stuff we buy in the stores, I just can't replace with homemade. I made ketchup last year and my daughter said she'd rather have store bought cause there's a taste in the ketchup that she doesn't know. I stared her in the eye and she just shook her head. She's pretty open minded so I didn't push her to eat it. I think I'm going to keep a ketchup jar, whiz up my ketchup and serve it that way. LOL Being sneaky with an adult daughter is pretty hard.
WOW, THAT LOOKS AMAZING. I WILL BE MAKING THIS MYSELF FOR MY PANTRY BECAUSE WE LOVE BBQ SAUCE, I WILL JUST CUT BACK ON THE HEAT JUST A LITTLE. THANK YOU, MISS LINDA, FOR SHARING THIS RECIPE WITH US.
Putting the juice in the ketchup bottle to get it all out reminded me of my childhood days. Back then ketchup came in a glass bottle as almost everything did and when we got out as much as possible, my mom would put just a little bit of water in the bottle to get every last drop. It was a little runny on the fried potatoes but still tasted great! Thank you for a wonderful memory.
There is times where I use orange marmalade and ketchup with brown sugar. It makes like a sweet and sour for chicken. Yum yum. My bbq sauces change all the time too.
Great Recipe, on my shelf right now is your Apple Bourbon BBQ from the past. It's fabulous so I bet this one is a Blue Ribbon also!! Thanks for the share
Franks stopped making their "stingin honey garlic" bbq sauce - which took me years to discover. I'm going to try this recipe, cause it kinda mimics what I used to love. TY Linda
Thank you, Linda... This looks amazing... I'm not a a big user of BBQ sauce BUT I was wondering if you have an enchilada sauce that uses tomatoes and spices. Not dried chilies. I like the tomato flavor best..
I'll be honest, I have never made barbecue sauce, because every recipe I've ever seen started with a stock pot full of tomatoes. Definitely good to know that there are recipes out there that start with ketchup instead.
I canned two batches of enchilada sauce last year, and it looks like these will last about one year. BBQ sauce using ketchup will definitely be my next project soon, including the wonderful idea to use pineapple juice! I watched your jalapeño and cranberry sauce video & made a small batch last week and will definitely will be making more. Absolutely ❤ForJars lids!!!
This will be one that I’m going to do,we go through a lot of barbecue sauce in a year! never thought of making my own thanks for the video and the idea💕
I have been meaning to make more BBQ sauce to can up. I made a small b as batch last year to give it a try. It didn't last long. I really like having sloppy joe starter on the shelf as well .
I want to try this recipe. I saw some #10 cans of ketchup in the grocery store that I'd most likely use. As always thanks Linda for your wonderful recipes.
I do hope you try. It is delicious. Nobody ever turns it down. In fact, when I said on Facebook that I had it, I had several requests for a jar of the very own.
I recently tried making a Baby Ray's sauce clone, but it did not call for pineapple juice... it was good, but could be better. I will have to give this a try. Thank you!
I haven’t canned any sauces yet, but definitely am planning on making pizza sauce, bbq sauce, spaghetti sauce, pesto, hot sauce and salsa (one savory and one sweet) this year for the first time! Your bbq sauce looks delicious!
I just found you and love your videos! Is there a link to your recipes? I tried to follow, but some how missed how many jars of ketchup you used. I think it was six, but I want to make sure. We are big bbq eaters here in SC. Thank you, Suzie
this looks good but I know I will need to cut back on the pepper with your recipes. I have made a few of your recipes and found the pepper a tad bit spicy for me and I like spice. But they have all been delicious.
Hi Linda...what can we use instead of Ketchup..both my husband and I cant even get past the smell of Ketchup and knowing its in the sauce we woudn't eat it...so hope we can substitude it...thx in advance..
I have a #10 can diced tomatoes I need to use. I don't mind a chunky sauce. Bar b que sauce is 3/4/5 dollars at grocery store. That's too much for my budget.... way too much. I just order pineapple juice to be delivered with my groceries. Love this recipe and looking forward to the enchilada sauce which I've done before. I love your canning sessions. Actually you taught me to can. Thank you.
Not happy with most commercial brands I have canned my own too. Gives you the ability to taste and get it just the way you want it which is very important for a BBQ sauce.
It's me again. I couldn't find tge re ioe you based this on in the newer addition of same book you have. Found Paw Paw's By water BBQ Sauce in The All New Ball Book of Canning abd Preserving. Is it close to yours with exception of pineapple juice?
Is that an older Ball canner? The reason I asked is that the one in your link says it only holds 8 pints and you got 11. Also, I didn’t see a link for your big pot. I love that pot! How many inches down from the rivets did you reduce the sauce would you guess? I’ve never made sauce before but I’m going to make a half batch of your recipe. I could almost smell it! 😊
I have this canner. If you watch how you place your pint jars in, you can get more in than it says. But not quarts. Hope this helps. Canner is awesome.
This looks yummy..BUT my daughter has her own BBQ business. She sells BBQ sauce & rubs. I get free products from her. You need to start teaching your grandson to can with you. He'd be a pro by the time he's grown.
I think you have so much extra because you were counting quarts and canned pints. But its a great mistake to make to have what you need already on the shelf
With water bath canning, you have to follow recipes for your non acid ingredients such as peppers and onions. Which would change the acid level. She is using spices because with them, you can change the amounts you use. Hope this makes sense to you.
@@marysaylor8458 Yes it does. Thank you so much. There’s so much I still don’t know yet. I have so many of my favorite recipes that I would love to can but not sure if I can. All the ingredients I use in the different recipes I’ve seen used in canning but don’t know if they have to be a certain amount or certain ones together. Unfortunately there’s no one to ask.
@@marysaylor8458 Thank you so much!! Do you have any idea if bourbon chicken can be canned. Everything in the recipe can but I don’t know about the bourbon?
Be aware of the kind of ketchup you're using, as many contain a ton of sugar and some have those unpronounceable lab ingredients that are disliked so much.

I made this and honestly couldn't stop eating it with a spoon :D Gave some to my hispanic co-worker and it got his seal of approval!
I make bbq, tiki marsala, , pizza, marinara, roasted tomato, and taco sauces. Very fun. Your bbq sauce looks great!

Never made BBQ sauce but I think I am gonna have to try it because everything getting so high.
Yum, I have got to try this, this summer!

Linda what is that electric waterbath canner? Nice!

A bit sweet and spicy - just how I like it - yum
It’s right up your alley. I am positive you would like it.
Nobody can make this without a recipe. Can u put one in please? Like what is in the spicy smoked paprika spice?
The recipe is published in the Ball book she showed at the beginning of the video.
What page is this on? I have that book and cannot seem to find it.
I like the ketchup hack
And what's the shelf life on this bbq sauce?
It doesn’t last that long, but I give it a three-year shelf life
Is this considered a safe to can revope
Nice!
where can I find the chipotle/ cajun spice? Or do you have the recipe? Thank You

Is there anywhere I can get the recipe
I wonder if there is a brand of ketchup you’d like, that comes in a #10 can, to make it easier to get out?
And then you said it as soon as I commented. 😂
Does anyone know what page this is on, looking for it
This looks so good but I'm having a hard time figuring the recipe because all of the add-ons. Did anyone catch the full recipe, please?
How about buffalo sauce?
Linda i love you❤
