I'm happy for this small victory in this disgusting situation.
I would be questioning if he would take the photos down too, despite it clearly being the right thing to do on every level. Because Jen's behaviour is so inexcusable, when caught up in something like this you don't feel like you can trust anyone, you can't be sure what anybody is capable of.
But it's highly possible he received the photos under false pretences. That he had no idea of the background, and Jen lied to him.
Of course, he may have been shady with it himself, or he could've looked into it more before using the photos at the very least. But he has done the right thing by taking them down.
I really hope Jen follows suit because it's just disgusting behaviour. It's not hard. Take the pictures down.
But Paige, try not to blame yourself for putting your family through this. You were deceived. I can't even imagine the pain and guilt. But you didn't do anything wrong.
Jen's behaviour on the other hand is just plain nasty and wrong.

She’s already shown her true $$$ colors by selling this bunk product in the first place…there’s a HUGE difference between “homeopathic” specifically and something like “wholistic,” (which is where I think a lot of people get confused, as for some reason in the last few years “homeopathic” has started to become more of a catch all word for any wholistic product for some reason) where the practice of “homeopathy” is absolutely not real and a scam way for people to sell plain water under the guise of a drug. I’m actually shocked she claimed on the website that it’s FDA “registered” trying to trick people into believing that it’s somehow fda approved ….because the fda doesn’t certify anything “homeopathic”…because it’s not a real drug product….
The FDA *itself* has articles on how it does not and will not ever certify homeopathic products along with why they’re a scam, as well as one specifically calling out companies who use terms like “fda registered” where they point blank call it “be[ing] used to mislead you.”
And her not wanting to take the pictures down has a huge financial incentive as well. Not only is removing any incredibly positive testimonial not exactly great for business, ESPECIALLY for pictures like that.
But what I think the bigger thing for her here is: I don’t see any other pictures like that of another POC’s results. I personally think she’s clinging so damn hard onto these because it’s all she has that checks the diversity box and the one (or the biggest) picture she has that is an instant green flag to any POC first clicking onto the page that implicitly tells them “this product is for you, too.” She doesn’t want to lose that. The stubbornness of “you gave these for me to use so I’m gonna use them no matter what” and the spite towards Paige for their friendship ending are just the sprinkles on top imo.
Nevermind the financial implications of all this happening and having to remove such major photos smack in the middle of the busiest shopping season for her of the whole year.
However I can’t imagine she won’t take them down after this video hits her & her team, because at this point I personally think the public backlash must be financially outweighing the use of the pictures. Any team worth their salt would tell her that continuing to fight this (esp on such a public stage) is going to have serious and likely long lasting detrimental effects on her WHOLE business, not just hairaf sales. Not to mention what could happen if the FDA continues to dig into this. In my opinion (as a small business owner myself) any furtherance of this bullsht on her part would be **solely** out of spite and vitriol and pride, because it would hands down be an absolutely awful business move. (Not like it already hasn’t been, just that it’s pretty clear this is only going to continue to get worse the more eyes it gets, especially since the other guy removed the photos immediately.)
I’m so sorry Paige that you and your family are going through this. What Jen has done in this has been absolutely disgusting and completely unwarranted. It’s more salt in the wound that her idiot lawyer doesn’t actually know the law here and is continuing to drag this out despite being very obviously in the wrong legally as well. It’s mindblowing to me. Don’t let up on this until she removes your Auntie’s photos and issues and actual apology….even then I personally would be tempted to continue to shed light on her straight up scam tactics/products…but I know first hand how crazily draining that can be when it’s personal, so don’t at all feel obligated to do so. You’ve gotten the major information out there, plenty of others are able to carry the torch from there on the scam side. I truly hope you and your family get the resolution you deserve, and that you know that this is **NOT AT ALL** your fault.
I completely understand what your going through. My father was a long haul truck driver and unfortunately passed away on one of his long hauls. One of the many online news outlets had published a picture of the accident and chose to use a picture of first responders using a crane to lift the cab of the truck off of my father partially ejected body. Knowing I had to protect my family from seeing this. I went to bat and fought to have that picture removed ! With enough outrage from friends family and community the news outlet removed the picture. But not before adding to the hurt and trauma we were already enduring. Sending you love and strength ❤

Edit: I also want to note that I was informed by jen via telephone (so this is just my word at this point) that hair AF was pending FDA approval. And that the images would be used to help aid in that application. Come to find out now (as of today) that it’s FDA registered and hasn’t yet been approved.
THATS why we were happy for her to send the pictures to her doctor, at no point was anybody asked about promotional material.
When jen launched the product it was well over a year since my aunties passing (my aunty passed in dec 2020 and the product launched publicly Jan 2022) I take full responsibility that it was my bad for not informing my family that the images were being used commercially. Even though at no point was anybody asked about commercial use as jen only requested a written testimonial.
I should have informed them when it went live and I fucked up. Big time. However I still believe that despite my negligence it shouldn’t have been difficult to respect my family’s wishes.

You were extremely fair in your previous video, even stating that the products were of good quality. Any person with morals and decency would have taken the image down (long before you were forced to make this matter public)
But not only does she seem to lack morals, she also has no idea of how to run a business as this has left such a bad taste in my mouth (and I'm confident enough to talk for others here too)

Oh honey I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. Words don't convey the amount of sympathy I have for you and your family.
Paige, when I was a senior in high school, my dog was sick. Before we took her to the vet I took a picture of her and posted her on Facebook and wrote something about hoping my dog was alright. She ended up getting put down after that photo. I was absolutely distraught.
Fast forward a week and I found my dog being used by a small company. That image of her being sick and not feeling well was being used with an ad to tug on heartstrings about protecting your pets, they need you. This was 2010. I don’t have screenshots, and I had a very small number of friends and was FLOORED this happened. No hashtags. Small town high schooler. And it happened to me. I found out when you upload to Facebook, Facebook owns the photos and you can’t do anything about someone using whatever you upload. The rage. Profiting off my dead dog. I don’t know if it changed in the last 13 years and I don’t care because I hate it as a principle.
I know it’s not my aunt and you have the compounded effect of the disappointment of your family and the bitterness of the friendship thrown in. I am so sorry you’re dealing with this. I will not purchase from Gerard anymore. Not having morals has a cost to me. And no I’m not perfect, I do buy iPhones and I’m sure I have some fast fashion items but I do my best.
I think not a lot of people are realizing that the whistle-blower, anonymous or not, had to have a LOT of courage to call something out.
I would say to both Paige and the whistle-blower to be careful because I wouldn't put it pass her to try to intimidate them into silence.

I am so sorry you've had to go through this Paige, it's deplorable. It's not hard to take down the pictures, and surely if the product works so well then it would be easy to find a replacement visual testimonial if she bothered to ask her customers to send them. Rest in Power Auntie
And as a side note (i didnt want to include this in my main comment out of respect) - i think this lends to a wider conversation of how throughout history the consent and respect for black bodies and black people is often overlooked by white business owners/scientists/medical professionals to further their own careers as well as lining their pockets. Auntie Maggie's photos lend credibility for the claims of what Hair AF said it can do, meaning more people will buy, making Gen Gerard and Dr Galitzer richer.
They are willing to line their pockets off the backs of a deceased black woman, who died way before her time. I think it's even more shameful on Gen's part because she knows how much Auntie Maggie's death affected both you and your family. All they have to do is take the pictures down, find a suitable replacement and keep making money; it seems so easy to leave you and Auntie Maggie out of this forever. Gen comes off as incredibly spiteful and vindictive. To put you and your family through so much turmoil because you fell out and are no longer friends.

I asked Jen herself if Hair AF is safe to use for someone who is undergoing chemo. I also noted I was in Australia.
Jen herself said it was safe to use, etc etc. *But* also said it was an official OTC drug - I have 0 idea what that means, again in Australia- and did add the caveat of always checking with a Dr. Which made me go 🤔🤨 . It's either safe or not safe when a person is undergoing Chemo and/or radiation or both at the same time.
I checked and for the person I was going to get it for, they refused. As they said they're on very high restrictions in what they're allowed to put *onto* and *into* their body. And the risks were way to high and as it's not an approved Australian medical product (allegedly), that their Dr or Oncologist, etc wouldn't necessarily be able to determine if safe to use and they couldn't be bothered to try to go to a massive amount of effort to see if it was indeed safe or not safe.
So we left it alone and didn't purchase.
However. When I looked back on my Tweets, Jen seemed to be like - yeah sure it's fine, babe and blah blah blah blah but *always* check w a Dr.
I will point out she did suggest checking with *a* Dr beforehand *but* the casualness of saying it was "safe" (my interpretation), to use when this is *my dad* in question and how it seemed a little bit blasè, and knowing said person so well and that they have to wear gloves to even touch anything hot or cold and also can't take a vast majority of products, it made me question if there was a warning of some sort on the bottle *and* the website. As I highly doubt (in my opinion) that Hair AF would have been safe for my dad to use but in the end we just don't know. There was 0 information given to me at the time and we would have had to do a buttload of research just to see if it *was* safe in conjunction with his Oncologist.
It just wasn't worth it.
I'm not saying the product is bad or anything like that. Don't get it twisted.
But the lack of forethought, answers and directives given by Jen herself was very vague (apart from consult with a Dr for anybody who is having treatment) and questionable in my opinion, as if everyone has to consult their Dr first, maybe that should be made *very* clear.
I also think it's *disgusting* for Jen to still be using Auntie Maggie's photos. I have a d3ad mother already and now my dad, at just 65 yo, has been battling cancer since February this year.
If any of my loved ones photos were used on a website for advertising a product *and* I hadn't given permission or hadn't garnered permission or there was no written agreement and then they (the brand/person), refused to remove it post humorously, I'd be *livid* and absolutely be gunning for them.
I also tweeted out to Jen with your last video stating I'm not involved in the conflict, but pleaded with Jen to take those photos off the website and any and all images be wiped of all materials that they were utilising it for.
She normally sees my Tweets and responds. She didn't even acknowledge this tweet.
Why no more people are speaking about this in the beauty community astounds me.

Go after both of the companies for copyright infringement. It will be stressful but if they don't have signed agreements to use the photos, they could have to pay out a large chunk of money. Wow im so very sorry that this person who claimed to be your friend at one point was giving someone else the photos of your aunties for other people to use without her or your families consent. Its absolutely disgraceful and disgusting behavior from jen and i hope that she does the right thing.
I remember with my family how some church members of my great grandmother acted like they cared and would take her to doctors appointments because she had been diagnosed with cancer (they might have been there for about 3 years total of caring for her sick husband while my great grandmother was fighting cancer) when in reality they where mooching off of her and her husband and then when they both passed (she in 2014 and he in 2016) she ended up with their house and all possessions and with that was all of the items that my grandmother had and all the family photo albums but who really got it worse was her husband's family because that was the house that they grew up in and there dad didn't allow them to take anything that belonged to their mother after she had passed so my heart really hurt for them because they didn't even know their dad had passed until after the funeral.

I hope it's ok that I am reaching out but I had zero knowledge of this terrible situation but thought you should know, as of January 8, 2024 I was searching for hair loss remedies on Amazon and saw that GC is selling Hair AF on Amazon and your beloved Aunti appears to be on the page. I didn't click any further so I honestly don't know how many photos are on the advertisement but I did see two of them. Please double check in case that I'm mistaken! I'm deeply sorry this is going on! I'm sorry if my message makes things worse but I felt you should know.

I don’t know how I came across this video. I am not sure if you will read this or if it will make a difference, but here goes. 1. Karma is real, this will come back on her. We don’t know the time or place, but it will happen. In the meantime, I know how hard it can be to watch someone who is so clearly in the wrong, keep marching on without a care in the world. It doesn’t seem right, but, these are the things that you will learn the most from and will make you an even better person. 2. You are beautiful. You seem like a beautiful person inside as well as outside, and beautiful things will be drawn to you. Surround yourself with beauty, in spirit, people, art, etc, to shield yourself from the ugly. 3. I lost my father in 2019, and I hear the same pain in your voice that I feel in my heart when I hear you speak of your Auntie. You are doing the right thing. As difficult as it is for you to see, this is not your fault. 4. There are bad people in this world and this is the result of the actions of a bad person. Be strong, you have got this. your family, including those children will come out so much stronger after this, because they have you and your Mom fighting for them. Something you said your mom felt like she didn’t have the strength to do before. I will pray for you and your family. Know that there are still good people out there, and don’t give up.

I would strongly recommend reaching out to EDB and explaining to her your side of everything and why she shouldn't be supporting/promoting JG/GC anymore. You have my support and, I know I'm just one viewer of your videos, but I've been emailing and commenting every RUclipsr I know that promotes GC and asking them to reconsider their support because I believe JG has wronged you and your family in one of the worst ways possible -- by holding the photos of your deceased Aunt Maggie hostage and continuing to use them for profit. I cannot imagine what your family and especially your cousins must be going through at the moment. I hope none of them stumbles across these pictures as I can imagine that it could set someone back in their grieving process.I hope more people see this and feel encouraged to speak out and take action against Jen and Jeanette. I have seen that there are more people who wrongfully fell victim to this awful lawyer and funny enough she is coming for everyone who uses tiktoks or selfies of her clients in their videos to talk about them. Aparently that is suppose to be "stealing someone else's content" but using your aunts pictures after she passed away and making money with it isn't.

I have an anecdote about this product. When everyone was raving about it and there was a BOGO sale on the Gerard Cosmetics site I was thinking of getting the Hair AF so I looked into the ingredients. I have health issues, specifically kidney failure and I’m on dialysis so I have to watch out for certain things and one of those things is phosphorus which is in a lot of food. I saw that phosphorus was on the ingredients list and I wanted to know how much so I emailed them. THAT Dr emailed me back and said that the amount of phosphorus in Hair AF is like .000something and it would be totally safe for me to use it.
I can’t find that reply for the life of me. I must have deleted it. I can find the email I sent asking about it but not that reply. I’m kicking myself for deleting it now. I never did end up ordering it and I always wondered WHY even put phosphorus in the product if the amount is virtually undetectable? So strange.
Because it's homeopathy, which means there's virtually no ingredients other than water and likely alcohol in it. He's an energy healer not a real doctor.
I actually found the email response I got for them today (totally by accident when I spent hours the other day looking for it 🤦🏻♀️)
What it said was that “Phosphorous is extremely diluted in the formula- 1 billionth of 1 mg.”
So again I ask, WHY even put it in there!??
So if you look up homeopathy, it's a pseudoscience and one of the main tenants of homeopathy is that the least possible amount of something is the most effective which is why they dilute all actives down to ridiculous levels such as you were quoted. @@Luv2LuvEm

I know we have all had fall outs with friends but none of us would even think of taking it this far. However you feel about (ex) friends leave their family, especially the deceased alone. Never thought I'd have to say that.
