I got my wife one back in January. I call it the Cadillac of minivans. Extremely smooth, quite, and comfortable. But. We had issues. The touch screen stopped working at 2,000 miles, the rear hatch wouldn't close not to long after, and the biggest issue that really disappointed us. The transmission literally blew up at 5,000 miles 2 weeks ago. Never driven the van hard or hauled anything other than my 4 kids and wife. Other than those issues the dealership we got it from have amazing customer service. Don't think bad about them people. We just got unlucky with ours.
Had one for 20,000 miles. The luxury was awesome, the transmission was the worst I have ever owned. Clank, clank, ka-chunk! Traded it for an xt5 Cadillac. Not perfect but much better mechanically.
At 4500 ft, a normally aspirated ICE will lose 15.75% of it's power output. For this engine with 287 hp, that's a loss of ~ 45 hp. That's a substantial power loss, no wonder it felt under-performing. I live on the east coast, right by the ocean, and I have a 2017 Grand Caravan with the same engine, rated at 283 hp. Pretty close to the same weight as the Pacifica, and if you punch it, it goes. Maybe they should offer a Turbo, or a Supercharged version of the V6, that would be sweet. One thing to mention, Chrysler/Dodge mini-vans are the only ones that offer 2nd and 3rd row stow-n-go, so you have 8 Ft from the back of the front seats, to the tailgate. You can transport 8 x 4 ft pieces of plywood, or sheet rock (I've done it). So you have all the tech, confort, all wheel drive, and power (at lower altitudes) Plus you can turn it into a pickup truck with an enclosed (no worries about weather) 8 ft bed and then turn it back into a 7 or 8 passenger van in 5 minutes. Not bad.
As a Single parent . Mini van have came along way. Certain individuals are embarrassed to drive Mini van. But For every USES, ROADTRIPS, kids drop off to school/events.. imo Mini Van beat others vehicles.
I see these a lot out on the roads half the time. It may be considered a “soccer mom” car as most people call the mini vans, but I don’t consider it to be. But from my perspective, it just simply looks sporty to my liking. I wouldn’t mind driving or test driving a Pacifica. And the S appearance package makes it look even more aggressive.
Good luck with the van soon to be dad! You won't care about speed when you have mom and the baby in the back seat! When your on the highway and get going that is when it counts. I have a Kia sedona 2012, my 3rd van! The cargo space in any van compared to a SUV is so much more. Covid has killed the price tag on any vehicle wether you live in the US or Canada.
The worst gear selector ever, even worst than the push button ones. I rented a Pacifica last year and to me it gear selector rotation seems reversed. What happens to the tried and true gear selectors of before? Why fix something that's not broken?
I decided against the Limited because I didn't like the power third row - worried it would eventually go out. Also liked the power on the highway - once it got going. If the Carnival had AWD or Siennna had v6, I would have seriously considered those options.
I see these everywhere for a minivan it is good looking, minivans are starting to mature like SUVS that is why more people switching to SUVS over sedans.
It would not fit as the van is a fwd based vehicle, so the inline 6 would have to be turned sideways and a different transmission would have to be mounted.
I just can't get past the sloping roof. Cuts into cargo space inside, makes using a roof rack much more difficult. The Carnivale is a way better choice I think.
@@BenHardyCars I'll be waiting for that video. I told my wife to look at one 7 years ago. She called me a bunch of names, and said absolutely not. Lol. Guess who bought a van, and is still driving it to this day?!?! Yep, my wife!
Bud I have a 2012 Caravan with 340,000 KM in Alberta Canada. My first American viechel. Only thing I replaced was the alternator. Still the original battery.
i stopped this about 1min into the vid. guy sounds like he is in the final round of a speed talkin championship, and down by 1pt on his final attempt. it isnt that i couldnt keep up. heck, ive enjoyed people in comedy & rap speak even faster. tho this is an Auto Review video--about a friggin mini-van no less, u should speak at a sensible speed. it reminds me of blackjack dealers who flip cards like they are being paid per hand dealt.

That’s dodge for you
Can you fit 3 adult on the 3rd row..?
Wait 5 years. You will visit the mechanic at least twice a year.

Though I may not be the right age to drive as a youngling, this is one of my first picks for a car.
I totally agree with you about this minivan Ben. Also maybe one day I planned to afford one of these minivan's like this someday.

wow, besides that stupid shifter this may be the coolest minivan I have ever seen

Looks just like my 2018 with minor upgrades. I guess I’ll wait a few more years
Congrats on becoming a soon to be dad...and wow minivans have come from a long way.
Although i feel it has plenty of power at altitude. A turboed version would be fantastic.

I have this vehicle, the AWD is actually pretty good in wet and snow and helps smoke away from the lights but yeh the accelerator has a lot of delay.

Some people really like these... The AWD system is useful. I'm kinda surprised about the power lag though - but they're heavy.
The motor of this van is the same as Jeep.
I decided against the Limited because I didn't like the power third row - worried it would eventually go out. Also liked the power on the highway - once it got going. If the Carnival had AWD or Siennna had v6, I would have seriously considered those options.
Jan, the Sienna does have a v6 with several trims. I have a 2013 Sienna XLE. It has a v6.
@@jonsfosterall new Siennas are hybrid only
Yep. I didn’t say anything about a new one! I was only referring to the previous years models. But that is a good point to bring up. Thanks!
@@jonsfoster you didn't, but the person you replied to was clearly talking about new ones....
@@jonsfosterHey you must have a 8 yr old brain. This is about new Minivans not those old Minivans. Now go read a book Brokie
392 hemi supercharged AWD would have set this off and a wide body kit sitting on 22" x 10.5 deep dish rims
I rented one and does need a bigger engine more horse power definitely but I loved it
Chrysler/Dodge has REALLY stepped their game up!!!!!
I've had 2 of these and the A/C went on both. Known issue. Rear evaporator leaks. Big job and big money. Buy something else, the quality isn't there
I would rather have the Honda Odyssey. A much better vehicle.
I see these everywhere for a minivan it is good looking, minivans are starting to mature like SUVS that is why more people switching to SUVS over sedans.
Can you remove the seats? Stow n go into floorboard?
Gotta have the camera mirror in there. Come on Chrysler.
Can you imagine if they had ever offered a hellcat engine?
Love dodge now Chrysler mini- vans especially with the rear seats being stow-n-go ,they must have a patent on it so Honda/ Toyota can't use it ?
That’s right😂
does Chrysler have it like does this car have it
Playback at 0.75 to make it sound normal and actually understand wtf this guy's saying. This guy needs much less coffee.
$60,000 to get from point A to point B? What will we be paying a few years from now. $100,000????? I'm getting a skateboard.
Enough room to lay down in back if 3rd row and one of the 2nd row seats removed?
84”x48” dimensions with both 2nd and 3rd row in stowed position. With one 2nd row seat upright, you lose about 18” of width
If they put the new in-line six cylinder in it it would be absolutely perfect.
It would not fit as the van is a fwd based vehicle, so the inline 6 would have to be turned sideways and a different transmission would have to be mounted.
Question - Is the moon roof standard to the limited (minus the back piece)?
Yes
I like your shoes
😊
I press the lock once it's not locked. Press twice it's still not locked wtf
What color is this exterior?
Homie, you have got to speak slower. People want to be able to understand what your sayin. Keep rocking it bro
can the 2nd row move/slide further back? Thanks
No, they are fixed in their position so they can be stowed into the floor.
With the town and country 5 u can !
Bangbus guys would book this in bulk. 😁
Read consumer reports , the federal investigation , lemon law .
Like you did not bloked your license plate i see people do like we have time to find them just saying lol sick van thou 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hey Ben if you guys have more kids you got your next vehicle right there buddy
👍
I can't believe we the people let them charge us 50 + K for a mini van?
Make this a 4x4 porfavor
Pacificat 707
The real question Ben, is what does the wife think of it?
I did a video with her today

They do get paid per hand dealt tho. More hands, more tips. What's wrong with someone dealing cards quickly?
Weird. That's the exact reason I stayed. I'd rather they pack more information rather than less.
I need an answer regarding my blackjack question.
60,000 wtf four a minivan wow
No different than a full size pick up/ suv for $80 thousand with all the bells and whistles that everyone demands for🤷♂️
Hi Ben!
I sent you an email for a business opportunity .. I hope you can check it soon.
Thanks!
I hate vans now SUVs all the way
Stupid van I can't tell when is locked
Mine is an 2018 getting 33mpg
