I’m a 68 year old guy, and I have a great time at my gym. The majority of my friends there, are young guys between the ages of 17 to 40! They’re very respectful towards me, and they know that I give them the same in return! That great parenting right there!
The gym should be a safe haven for everyone, many go there to fight their demons and clear their head. The last thing you want is people filming you when you’re just trying to get a workout in.

Majority of lifters who’ve been in the gym a while are very respectful and absolutely respect you doing anything in that gym. A lot will help you, maybe the young crowd who’s just starting to get gains and pricks but we’re all pretty considerate
That's totally true though folk that go to the gym have a stereotype and its because people only ever hear the stereotype, the folk that aren't that, rarely say anything, mostly because they don't want grief which is fair enough, yet loads of folk out there who would like to go to gyms don't because of that sterotype.
I love Joey because of his positive vibe and videos as a man who has been working out for decades now, it hurt when I had to receive a multi organ transplant in 2008. I gained so much weight from not working out plus having to have a ileostomy put me into a negative state of mind, so years later when I did get back into the gym, people were like damn Roger you really let yourself go. Those words hurt more than one would think and the steroids that I am on for anti- rejection issues make you feel like you are always hungry. I am not trying to make up excuses but it is embarrassing if you ever have a leak with your ileostomy or ostomy of any type as people lack decency in large or understanding. I have recently restarted at the gym with my 16 year old son and I am trying to become better and more active but I can understand now how easy it is for people to get up to 600 lbs due to embarrassment and people judging them as well as mocking them. I am hoping to get myself down from 370 to maybe 250 if I make it long enough. Thank you to all of those who promote others through good vibes and just kindness as it is amazing the power of words.
I used to work out all the time up until 2013. I would never go into a gym today because of the filming and the children who behave as such. Narcissism is off the hook.
