- A manhole fire knocked out power to signals along the F line by Jay St. This led to many F trains running via the G line.

+WaluigiBoy Gamer The platforms on the G line were built to fit standard length trains. Thus, they are longer than G trains, which are half-length.

Awesome! Reminded me of the last time I went to Brooklyn and took my best friend to take the G train (He isn't so interested in the trains as I am but he still indulges in my activities) and when of course what would show up was a F train via the crosstown line. Also very nice map!

Ah, this kind of brings history when G trains used to go to forest hills on weekends,evenings and nights
To clarify what had transpired on March 28, because of the manhole fire that knocked out power to the signals along the F line by Jay Street, which resulted in F trains being rerouted to the G line between Bergen Street in Brooklyn and Court Square in Queens, there was no F train service in Manhattan. Therefore, subway customers had to transfer to Manhattan-bound A and C trains at Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets for service to Manhattan.

They should make use of the diamond symbol on the r160s. Make the a thing. It says “This is a Jamaica-179St bound F EXPRESS train. The next stop is Queens Plaza.”

Honestly if I had the money to I would give the MTA enough money to have permanent R160s on the G train because the G train needs longer train car sets and it would be helpful if they put some R46s back on the G train they just disappeared in 2013

Oh okay good the (G) needs full length trains and hopefully it ends up with R160s on the roster

+Jesse DirtbagDressing This was actually the first time I've ever caught this reroute, oddly enough. I've always had trouble catching it.
Probably the few amount of stuff happening on the line. It's just there, and its only connections to other lines are between Court Square/Queens Plaza and to the Culver Line.
So it never really happens often. If at all. This is the second time I've heard of it happen.
Didn’t this happen again like a week ago. I heard the announcement at 4th Avenue 9th street when I was heading to school
This also made all F trains to Kings Hwy

Galacta the riders had the get off at Hoyt and had to transfer to the A or C trains

Really cool video! it's kind of like how the G used to extend from Crosstown to Queens Blvd. I have a random question, I was just wondering if you know what happened to the R160s that were on the "W" after they took it down in 2010.
+ParkerTheNomad reassigned to the Q for extended service into Queens. It's the same headways just the Q picked up the slack from the W ...Cars more then likely went there.

i meen today for most of the moring some f train's were runing over the a or the g
i meen its cool for one big reson the tunnle betwwne cort sqare and queens plazza is used and can be seen the last iw was useed and seen on the normal map was back in 2010
I wish they would get the money to have more g trains so we can have longer trains and the g could run to forest hills like it used to
or even run to jamica 179 and the f can run exppres after froest hills
The g train was a good a example of why the mta is low on cash
I meen like they said the shorting the trains becasue if they were normal side they would not come as often so the cut the trains in half so what could had been one train is know two
