I mention how to change the ball type at ruclips.net/video/OvYyHNFxE8s/видео.html Make sure you are selecting the placement controller, or root control (CTRL_Root) of the ball, which is the triangular shape controller. Then in the ChannelBox you will see a custom attribute called Ball Type. Let me know if that helps or not, and subscribe if you're enjoying the tutorials.
Make sure you have a properly set up Maya project directory first. Make sure the rig file (the ball rig in this case) is located in the scenes directory. While you can go follow the steps in the video to reference the rig in the scene (00:08:13) alternatively you can find the Create Reference command in Maya's File menu, or you can press ctrl+R which will open the Reference window and you can choose the rig to reference. If the project is not set, this window will open to the default Maya project directory (or the last one you set). You can click the Set Project button at the bottom left of this window to choose a different folder for your project. Check out ruclips.net/video/2jfUH9kqpBY/видео.html for more information on setting projects if that helps.

Complicated
Once you get used to animating, it will become easier.
