Interesting fact. I have very little interest in aircraft, so the first time I ever saw Road Warrior, I thought the gyrocopter was just a hollywood creation, just like countless other impractical things we've seen that can only exist in movies.
When I was a ('60s) kid, I dug an underground fort, twice (we moved), but it was not so extensive. Only two, because the next move happened when I was getting too old for that sort of thing, also, it was after my parent's divorced, and I wound up in the city right in the middle of social upheaval in some ways similar to what's happening now. I had other priorities. Maybe I should make a third fort, the way things are going?
Go the Air truk. I lived in Toongabbie in the 70s and 80's and they built these planes at Seven Hills nearby and flew them from their short runway. No way would that be allowed now. I remember a time of chaos, ruined dreams, this wasted land when you would hear this plane flying over head before you saw it. Your a winner Max!
You could tell he wanted to kill him so bad because this all started because of him. But he couldn’t hurt him because he needed him to fly them out of there. 😆
I feel kinda bad for Jedidiah cos him and his son got a good set up here that he pretty much has to give up cos Max has found him again and roped him into his current predicament. Honestly Jr picked the wrong day to try to rob someone.
"Ahhhh, I think we're all dead meat..." is what I say to myself in the bathroom before work Monday morning because I had too many pints Sunday night. Cheers from North Carolina, Mates.
I thought so too, but they're both supposed to be different characters. I read in a thread somewhere that someone said they owner a magazine from when this was released and it stated the characters were not related. Better imo, Gyro Captain is the leader of that oil tribe with his lady.
Such a great movie. Even the phonograph Delta Fix X-ray was terrific. Where are you going? Im going home. I don't think a better ending could have been written. It should have won best picture.
Ahh I think where all dead meat,, i love how they catch max but let him go cause, max cant run away, he has no car so Tina sees no sport in it..lol I dont no how to explain it, kinda like captain walkers legend
I want that airplane!! It's a Transavia PL-12 Airtruk, a single-engine agricultural aircraft designed and built by Transavia Corporation in Australia. (Source: Wikipedia) Looks like it would be cool to fly around town.

I always just thought it was the Gyrocaptain and they hadn't seen each other for a while but Max knows him - "YOU!"... It's not like they spent months together in The Road Warrior - did Max even know his name? But for some reason all of RUclips thinks they are two separate characters. Did George Miller say this?
@@ChrisArtell If he's not the Gyro captain, then how does Max recognise him? Nowhere previously in this film has he got a good look at "Jebediah"'s face
I know the director said this isn’t the Gyro Captain from Mad Max 2 but it is the same character! The flight link, clearly Gyro Captain got the hot blonde pregnant who must have subsequently died.
Bruce Spence didn't played the same character from THE ROAD WARRIOR. Sergio Leone did the same in his MAN WITH NO NAME Trilogy as he used the same actors like the big guy who beat Eli Wallach in THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY. He was in all three films playing different characters.
IN MY HEART HE WILL ALWAYS BE :..." The Man Who came down from the sky ..." long live The Mighty Gyro Captain!
This is so much funnier if I just allow myself to think he's still the Gyrocaptain from the previous movie. It's so much more epic to think that.
Yah "All this Time"
I was so confused the first time I saw Thunderdome.
Interesting fact. I have very little interest in aircraft, so the first time I ever saw Road Warrior, I thought the gyrocopter was just a hollywood creation, just like countless other impractical things we've seen that can only exist in movies.
Explain, Isn't him the Gyrocaptain?
Living In Sql apparently not. They cast the same actor to play a very similar character. That’s why him and Max don’t recognize each other.
1:27 I want to imagine Max is like “Gyro?!”
That guy had such an awesome home!
been there
It belonged to one Latvian guy originally - who was the "prototype" for legendary Crododile Dundee movie franchise.
Filled with stolen property!
A nice underground home, stays 75deg year around.
when I was a kid after watching this movie I wanted a tunnel system to live/play in so bad
Man me too! I think we 80s kids had similar dreams

Move to Coober Pedy.
A lot of houses in the Australian dessert are build at least partially underground.

They should bring that little boy back in the new Mad Max film as Stephen Merchant, as he bears a remarkable resemblance to Bruce Spence.
Not the worst idea.
Totally different tone to Road Warrior. George Miller was like "let's just go full Hollywood"
Hard to imagine that guy was the best pilot in the strongest air force on the continent.
I JUST LOVE BRUCE SPENCE!!!!
Ikr! It’s so awesome that he played the Gyro Captain, this guy, _and_ the mouth of Sauron.
@@calowenby1654 Also the Trainman

Kind of my favorite part of the entire movie
this is the most funny scene. i like how jedediah aka cpt gyro react 'me?' lol
Actually this is not cpt gyro even though its the same actor.
@@Baghuul then the question remains... How did max recognize him?
@@aldokurti3272 Because max got all of his shit jacked by that pilot at the beginning of the movie lol
The mouth of Sauron hanging out in the desert....
It felt so weird seeing that Bruce Spence played the plane-guy in the credits for me.
How does Max know that Jebediah has a plane? Max never really saw who robbed him
I've been wondering that myself.
He saw him get scared by him in Bartertown if memory serves.
All the more reason to believe it's just the gyro-captain.
He knows because the script is stupid and the movie is bad. There.

I guess he could have flown back if he could find fuel for his plane.
Their riches were likely generated through robbery and scams, so they kinda deserved it. They'll likely restart their venture when they land anyway.
Dialog with father was perfect )

I mean, he did, lol.
0:38 it's Marvin from red when he was a boy 🤣 or his great grandkids

So Captain Gyro got reproduced with the hot blonde of mad max 2 lmao
I choose to believe that, and that this was where they moved after they lead the homesteaders to the north.

This movie was one of the best movies of all time!!Anyone who disagrees is “Ded- Mahyte”!!! 🤐
I don't disagree.

got this one on dvd hmm

I can’t believe the plane was big enough for the whole tribe.
Part that was never explained is how the pilot usually got to town. Never saw a car and i doubt he walked.

Strangely, he's playing a different character in this movie.
Just saying, I really don't think they all could fit on the plane, even with people on the wings.
