Is Naruto Ninja Council REALLY That Bad?!
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 28 ноя 2022
- Today, we finally begin our long journey into the Naruto games. There are so many places to begin from Ultimate Ninja all the way to Clash Of Ninja. It's a series that certainly isn't short on games, but I wanted to start with one near and dear to my heart. A series that only got worse as time went on, but still one I loved. Other people, however, did not love it so much. So... is Naruto Ninja Council REALLY that bad?

Aww… he didn’t mention the fart is an instant kill on Kiba (because of his heightened sense of smell). That was a kinda cool thing that the moves referenced the original story.
It’s definitely one of the cooler details in an otherwise okay game. The secret moves for Naruto, Sasuke, and Kakashi however are great
So glad I found this channel! I definitely feel like we grew up playing lots of the same games
The running up tree mission from Storm 1 were actually in multiple other Naruto games before that. The Running up tree mission first appeared in Ultimate Ninja 2 for PS2, and went on to appear in Ultimate Ninja 3 and Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 for the PSP, and even in Rise of Ninja for the Xbox360. Storm 1 was actually the last game to have the tree running mission
I was going to comment this, but you got it 😄
My mind is blown and my day is ruined.
@@retrorebound8887 I know you like Storm 1, but I really love the original PS2 Ultimate Ninja games, they are all so nostalgic for me. I think a retro gaming video on Ultimate Ninja 2 or 3 for PS2 would be great content for your channel, since they are more retro than the Storm games.
@@47d75 i just couldn't get into storm because of how different it was, the characters felt more cookie cutter than ultimate ninja
@@devforfun5618 Well then your a fool for not playing those games because those are hands down the best Naruto games ever.
Don't think I've ever played Ninja Council 1, but played 2 and loved it as a kid. Probably wouldn't like it as much these days, but this video brought back so many great memories
I played and own all of them the only thing I did not like about the 1st one is its to short other then that its not all that bad 🤷
Counsil 1 was better imo, was less clunky, and the jutsus were easier to pull off.
I did like how #2 actually followed the story though, and number 3 had a shit load of characters which was dope
I only played 3, and I remember raging on some of those missions but I can't recall which ones 🤔
I owned NC 3 and I loved it
I really hope you make a video on Rise of A Ninja and Broken Bond. Those games are so special and unique. It's such a damn shame that it isn't backwards compatible, which it might be due to licensing issues, but they had the rights or permission when they made the game so why couldn't they bring it back? Either way please make a video on those games. I don't want them to become obscure, they might have already but damn I love those games
Broken bond was sick.
The people have spoken. I'll see what I can do since I already have them in my collection :)
Ah yes the only Naruto games that I never had a chance to play because I don’t own an Xbox console.
4:00 I did the same. Sasuke's Fireball jutsu is the only one I bothered memorizing, and I still know the signs. They are BURNED into my memory.
When hand signs were a thing in the first few arcs. Remember that water dragon jutsus? Hypeeeee
@@chefrusstooclutch2316 Yeah that shit took ages to perform, and while I gave props for Zabuza to know such a long string of seals and for Kakashi to copy it flawlessly on the fly, my ultimate thought was that it was highly impractical. I mean your opponent could kill you 20 times over while you performed a jutsu like that. But yeah, I do kinda miss it, like how I miss Pokémon when they pushed the button to make the ball bigger.
Shoutout to the GOAT: Sasuke Uchiha!
I still know the handsigns for Chidori.
Snake, sheep, monkey, ox, horse, tiger
Always love the unboxing segment! This channel has so much nostalgia for me!
So glad to hear that. I love doing it and I'm relieved that experiment worked out when I started incorporating it :)
Funny story, I actually hated Naruto around when it first came out(didn’t even watch it yet was just a closed minded youth who thought anything that wasn’t dragonball was lame)
I went to a sleep over with one of my moms Co workers sons and he had a naruto watch party since toonami was doing a marathon of Naruto that night. It was at the time of the chunnin exam finals, I think the first episode that came on was Sasuke Vs. Gaara and when he started kicking gaaras ass with Lee’s speed I was perplexed, and once Sasuke used the Chidori for the first time I became a life long Naruto fan.
That night one of the kids there gave me Ninja Counsil as a way for me to catch up with the series, I was in love with the game, not only being able too play as Sasuke but also having a Naruto campaign was legit, BUT that wasn’t all, being able to unlock Kakashi as a secret character was more than my 9 year old brain could handle.
This was one of the games that truly got me into the series, I think even today it plays pretty well and has some great fan service for classic Naruto.
Bro do Rise of Ninja and The Broken Bond!! I also used to love the Clash of Ninja games. I was already a little older (like high school) when Naruto came to America and had watched a ton of anime before then and thought it was awesome. My first ever cosplay was Zabuza.
I played through this and one of the other ninja council games, and the first of the DS JStars in Japanese back in 2005/6. We had a few Japanese kids in our school and one of them rode the same bus as me. The games worked on my North American DS and he let me borrow them. I didn’t have internet so it was all trial and error, ESPECIALLY for the Jstars game. But they were so much fun. And especially back then it felt like this super cool mysterious thing to play these games that hadn’t gotten US releases yet and in the case of JStars never did
I recently played this for the first time, and thought it was pretty fun! Boss battles irritated me because I couldn’t figure out how to win for a few rematches. Still a fun game
Cant wait for an Uzumaki Chronicles video. Kept trying to convince myself i liked it while being nervous waiting to see if they were still gonna call rasengan "spiraling sphere" when the dub caught up
even playing it as a kid it felt like a different dimension playing that game 😂
I’m with you Matty. OG Naruto is so great. Shippuden has amazing moments/characters/major catering to epic reveals/returns and everything, but it’s all carried by the foundation that Naruto set up. Also the English dub is great. Orochimaru was amazing. I mean how couldn’t he be, it’s Steve Blum.
Retro Rebound has to be in my top YT channels ever, good stuff Matty.
Keep on doing what you want to do Matty!
I remember this game. Even older PSP owning kids were interested in the GBA Naruto game haha.
This game unironically got me into Naruto. Through a random ROM download
My late grandfather gifted this to me after my elementary graduation. I finished the game during the summer.
Megaman Battle Network, Naruto Ninja Council, and Circuit City!?! Man, did we live the same childhood or something cause I was there for all that and share all the same nostalgia there
Same lol
Man i loved this game as a kid. It was super easy even back then, but still fun. Would love for you to do the Uzumaki Chronicles games next!
Matty my guy I memorized the hand signs for fireball jutsu when I was a kid too. You are a true man of culture.
I have the regular black Konoha headband, I personally prefer the black one over the blue one.
Man this is nostalgic for me. I played this game before I even knew Naruto was an anime. Played a lot of emulation, decided to branch out and try some of the Japanese only games for the gba. This was one of them as well as the tactical rpg, and a handful of other games based on cover art and single in game pictures. Had a friend big into anime and was trying to get me into anime. Went looking for something he mentioned say Narutos goofy face on the home page of the site i found and ended up watching it. The anime was in the 60 episode range at the time and i remember it was roughly chapter 117 of the manga because i remember downloading chapters 117 and on. crazy times.... then it got localized and everyone got into it, and some friend of a friend got one of the gamecube games and tried explaining the lore and characters to me...
This game was so fun! Maybe because I was only a kid when I played, so I didn't know any better, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The adventure part was challenging and fighting the vast genin bosses was fun. It's definitely not on the same level as Megaman BN games, but I don't think it was that bad either. Nostalgia at it's best.
But this was the only fun Ninja counsel game. The following games just lacked something this first one had.
Music was just Ight??? The there song they use for the leaf scroll (map) ALONE was insane! I was just leaving it on that screen just to jam out to it in the back of the car. Beat was fuego and I’ll never forget it
I have both Ninja Council 1 and 2. I prefer Ninja Council 2 way more than 1. The pixel art is great, the music is serviceable. But all in all it’s a better experience in my opinion. Great review! It sure hit me in the nostalgia feels, hope you see more reviews like this one!
Naruto Ninja.. Council? Never heard of it but with a title like that I’ll admit I’m interested.
First video of yours I’ve ever seen, hope it’s good.
Hyped for more Naruto videos, keep em coming Matt!
Whose your favorite Naruto character?
Kotor 1 and 2 are truly amazing...after so many years I still remember the plot twist at the end that's how good it was
Nice video as always! Glad to see some Naruto love. I checked my collection and Volume 9 of the Manga was the Chunin Exams Ino vs Sakura, Naruto vs Kiba, and Neji vs Hinata. Man that takes me back!
Definitely do your research when approaching clash of ninja and ultimate ninja storm. Those two games have pretty deep aspects that most people don't pick up on.
I remember when Naruto Chronicles 2 came out and I was very happy it was a two-player me my brother and my nephews played that to hell and back it's just too bad not many games do co-op anymore
i remember returning his game after beating it in like a few hours when i was 9
told gamestop guy " it was too easy "
got castlevania dawn of sorrow instead
here because i still remember this
I bought Ninja Council 1 and 2 in hindsight and was disappointed 2 removed all voice clips.
You really dived into pretty much most games i played growing up.. including this so thank you for all that you do keeping everybody’s memories alive
YES! Please cover more Naruto games! I'm so excited!
Ninja Council 2 was such a good game to me! It had secret missions and, it felt like a fair challenge for the time. It was my first Naruto game ever, and Naruto was my first anime besides Dragon Ball Z/Pokémon that I’d watch too! I feel like a lot of kids at that time had that experience.
Thank God for your Naruto games reviews because that's how I found you and I love you now been watching all your vids since
Dam man nice review. Tuned half-mindedly for the review not expecting a good game but stayed for the suuuuuuuper in-depth review on collecting and the state of the vintage product.
I think the fact it knows what it is, and doesn't need to be super hard, but still, just a fun game, and faithful to the source material (except for a genin taking on a jonin, unless you're kakashi) makes it special.
I'm not a casual by any means, but I love Kirby, and that game is accessible to all. This game kinda feels like that.
I completely forgot I owned this as a kid. So much fun from what I remembered
Literally found this game in a random box my folks dropped off when I bought my house 2 states away. Had to watch this before popping it back in to play
how is it you look older than me but all of your nostalgic recounts make you seem younger
Did you play the Naruto RPG series? The Ds Version of path of the ninja doesn't contain the secret fight with Itachi that the GBA version had, and I have them both, it's hard to decide which one I want to play.
Naruto RPG 2 is only released in Japan and it's really good. It's somewhat sad that the best Naruto RPG didn't release in English.
I'm surprised this wasn't more adored. The fact they used Sakura to pad out the Empty Secret areas in the Map is Hilarious. When you realize she's also a Non Playable Character, as her own Text claims she is "Hiding" makes this even more Funny if you think about the Irony of it all.
It's like the entire game was a Hit piece to Sakura's Character in Naruto. Although I heard it had a Terrible budget.
I remenber playing this when i was 6 or 7 this is nostalgic af
I remember losing my shit when finding the scroll to unlock everyones 4th jutsu and unlocking kakashi. His 4th being lightning blade had my little mind freakin lol
Naruto: Ninja Council was the only Naruto game I ever bought on the GBA. I, like mostly everyone else, was a diehard DBZ fan until I played Naruto: Ultimate Ninja. Then, all that changed. To this day, I love Naruto.
I remember playing this game on my friend's GBA SP back in the day and had my mom take me to Best Buy that very night just to pick this game up. A very much worth it buy. Reviews like these are why I believe journalists and game reviewers are obsolete these days. We don't need anyone giving a rating for a game and saying if its good or bad. The only thing we need to do now is just do our own research on RUclips and judge for ourselves after we've played. Journalists are from a forgotten age in a bygone era. Ninja Council was a cool and fun experience. Not much more is needed to be said.
I’m playing this with a GBA emulator on my iPhone for the first time because I never got it as a kid and I’m having a blast. I agree there is a certain carefree, childlike attitude where the game isn’t as serious as later entries . It’s a nice pick up and play for a few minutes and then put it down.
That spiderman 2 game you showed us was from the game boy ADVANCE not color
HEY! Always great to see more Retro Rebound on my Subscription Feed, keep them coming Matty :)
This game was the first naruto game I got and it was also how I introduced my mom to anime because I used to hide my naruto watching in my room every week
I love OG Naruto and your videos so this is a match made in heavan. Looking forward to more Naruto!
I want you to pick apart the dragon ball gba games so badly after watching this lol. Great content, think I'll watch some more :P
YO I FOUND THEM!
Ready to see your ninja council 2 video, that's the one I had. I loved it but maybe thats the nostalgia talking, I haven't played that game since I was a kid.
When i was young I found Kiba's weakness by play as Naruto if you failed level 3 ninjustsu Kiba will lost most of his health and allow Naruto to perform fully level 3 ninjutsu
Man same, naruto was the anime that got me into anime fr. Unfortunately I didn’t veer off into others THAT MUCH until it was all the way finished 🥴
Funny that you are doing the Naruto game retrospectives, because I also just started recording a retrospective for Naruto Storm what a coincidence.
The funny thing is, I just went through my shit 2 days ago looking for my laptop charger and found my tin of game boy and advanced games and I still have this 😂
I remember learning not the fireball jutsu but chidori.
"young adult age 27" homie you are a grown adult
"Spider-Man 2 on my Gameboy color"
*shows GBA Spider-Man 2*
I had that game too. I never had an OG xbox so I got the PC version of KotOR I and II. The games feel like they were meant to be played with a mouse.
Ninja council 1 was one of my favorite GBA games. I replayed it over and over.
this man said the combat was easy to cheese, but i distinctly remember orochimaru and gaara, especially gaara, being hard as hell to beat.
a sound test, would’ve crushed me too🤦🏽♂️
I love binging your videos. Most of the games you cover I grew with. But games like these, I never got into, but I might have emulated or looked into back in the day when I was getting into Naruto.
Have not played this game since my childhood, but I too absolutely adored this game as a kid. Played it so much.
Using Fart on Kiba also was funny af
This game is one of my fav Naruto games ever. Ultimate Ninja 3 is still my all time fav Naruto game. I played the Ninja Storm series, and yeah, they're cool. But I still prefer Ultimate Ninja 3. Still playing it sometimes these days if I got time.
I never played the game but I remember right around when my older brother borrowed a DVD of Naruto from his friend there was a thing in game power about a orange gba sp with a white leaf symbol. Just randomly remember that almost 20 years later.
If you want to play a truly horrendous Naruto game then you should try Kizuna Drive. I’ve genuinely never played something so bad
Didn't grow up with Ninja Council as they didn't release here, but I loved the Ultimate Ninja series.
Rise of a Ninja next?! That was the game that got me hooked into Naruto on the Xbox 360!
A lot of people want me to do it. I may have to go for it ;)
Does anyone remember the Kiba fight? I remember playing this when I was like 11 playing it, and if you fail the Uzumaki barrage and fart it dealt half damage
I remember buying this and beating the whole thing in chidren's group in church. It was fun but really short, I was really disappointed by the length.
My brother owns all the Ultimate Ninja games. Man those were the good ol days.
I’m not sure the magazine company but there was an issue that had the hand signs and young me thought it was the sickest thing
NC2 was my top 5 go to emulated games in school right next to MMBN 5 and 6
I’ve played and loved EVERY Naruto game ever made EXCEPT rise of a ninja and broken bond. Didn’t have an Xbox at the time until my older brother bought one.
I PLAYED THIS AS A KID. WHEN ITS YOUR FIRST NARUTO GAME IN YOUR FIRST ANIME LOVE YOU LOVE THAT GAMEPLAY. I LOVED UNLOCKING KAKASHI AND SPEED RUNNING THE GARRA FIGHT. SHARDS OF MY CHILDHOOD
14:50 Well I mean in Ultimate 3-5 you can play as- and beat up Hanabi, who at the time was 7 years old.
The headband fits the part in your hair too well
I love how I seen 1 guy do a review video for those storage cases and now its like everywhere I go people are using them I legit did not expect them to blow up like that heck last month they where so good I bought a bulk order for my n64 carts to keep dust out who ever invented those things is a certified goat for retro collectors
Naruto ninja council 2 was the first game I've ever beat, and actually TRIED to get the best score, idc how ""bad"" people say they are, the first 2 games were so fun to me and made me feel accomplished (I didn't know about the 3rd game on the DS til much later)
Funny enough I liked the second game more because I liked playing as Sakura, she was one of my favorite characters and even dressed as her for Halloween in 7th grade.
I sucked at the first game though and I never finished it haha
Naruto was one of my first a imes I really got into and the first of Naruto holds such a special place in my heart, I kinda fell off in Shippuden but still go back to watch og every once in a while and still feel absolutely exhilarated to rewatch it
Remember the days when we didn't care about how bad the game was and just having fun
Are there any naruto shippuden spoilers in this review? I want to watch it but i’m trying to avoid spoilers :D
"...and become the greatest Naruto Ninja Council."
yes please i want to be the greatest naruto ninja council
It would be dope if you did the Storm Games! Or clash of ninja
Great video man. As always. Would love to see more Naruto. Rise of a ninja is probably the best Naruto game of all time
i had this, and it was fun. but i think that's because i didn't have much else to play back then.
dude this game was fire when i was a kid. idk how it holds now. but i loved it and the 2nd one
Okay lol when you said Naruto and attack on titan were you first real anime and said it in a way that implied you had the feeling at the same time I was legit concerned because we are the same age and I grew up on Naruto and did not watch aot until like halfway through high-school Naruto I agree on was my first anime that and the heroic age. Watched that after the Joplin tornado really liked that one
Deff subbing for that next naruto vid
matt do you use your GameCube to capture your gameplay for your GBA reviews or do you use an emulator?
I'm gonna get one of them headbands and wear them outside like it's normal. People watching has never been more fun.
I’m glad I’m not the only 27 year old who learned fire ball jutsu in 7th grade.
Hahahahah!
Ninja Council 2 is incredible, way better than 1 IMO (and I really like 1) but 3 made me not even look at 4, it was such a disappointment that the cool 2d platformer series was turned into some weird bingo sheet mission game that felt more like a collection of small missions as opposed to one congruent game.
I thought the ninja council games were pretty good. I’ve played them all but 3 is the only one I still have. I grew up watching Naruto as a kid and I thought it was the coolest thing ever
as a kid, this was pretty lit on gba
