This is the best Naruto game ever imo. A fully open world Konoha that uses the hatred naruto gained in his first seasons as a morale system in the game is genius. Also how they used the actual banger OST from the anime not some kinda similar sounding ost like all the other naruto games. Also how they used the actual anime for cutscenes.
This game came out in 07, when I was HEAVY into Naruto. It was my top anime at the time and single-handedly made me want to get a Xbox 360. Being able to run around the leaf village was like a dream come true for me. Still sad we never got a Shippuden version of this series, though.
This was the worst part about being a Sony fan. This game only released on Xbox 360 and I always wanted to play it. Now that I have an emulator (I mean a totally legit Xbox 360) I can play it
I was in the 7th grade in 2010, literally everyone had a PS3, and I was telling everyone I was going to get a Xbox 360 because of the Naruto games, all of them tried to to talk me off of it. One day, I just grabbed 300 euros, I think I stole 50 from my sister lol went to the store, grabbed the 360, only for the cashier to tell me minors aren't allowed to spend more than 200 Euros on their own. Then I saw the first trailers of Storm 2 and I got a PS3 for christmas later that year with Storm 2, got a great picture of myself with the biggest smile with the game and the system. I bought a 360 in 2016 just to play Rise of Ninja.
Naruto Broken Bond was one of my favourite 360 game. That game was the perfect balance between adventure and fighting game. It captured the story so well and I played that I found out that there was a prequel to that game Rise of the Ninja and I found it one day randomly and I have to say this game was amazing in its own way. Honestly back then all consoles had their own Naruto game and 2008 was the peak Naruto games year for me.
if had to pick an issue I with them was there was a bit too much extra stuff between missions with the story to pad out game time. Like sasuke get injured and then you would have the fight on the roof but in the game he gets injured healed to do some filler mission and ironically enough gets re-injured by the filler lighting sword guy then the story continues
@@Sonicfalcon16 The lightening sword filler was actually in the anime as well. So it was kinda like anime canon. But there were other missions where things did pad out a bit but those things did help do some character development like Neji’s and Choji’s side missions.
The first Naruto movie was nostalgic because of the high quality animation for the time. The first few movies in og Naruto were popping. The Rock Lee and Garra's fights were lit.

Thank you for making this. I just appreciate that you're bringing attention to this series. I hope I can play this and Broken Bond again someday without having to find a good copy and use an Xbox 360. People should experience these games!

Honestly broken bond was one of my favourite 360 games, and what actually GOT me into Naruto, and then anime as a whole. Therefore, this game and broken bond are so special to me.
I would love to see a new Naruto exploration game like this and Ultimate Ninja 4 (2009). I love the idea of going to different areas of the Shinobi world and finding cool things and side quests. It would be cool if we were able to do it during The Last era of Naruto.

I loved this game. Doing the hand signs with the sticks, running through the world, watching the villagers change from hating you to loving you. This is still my favorite Naruto game, I wish they’d bring this type of Naruto game back
I loved these 2 games. Would love the entire series done like this. Wish was backwards compatible on series x. I’d love you to discuss clash of ninja on gamecube and revolution on wii! I remember playing this ages ago. Such nostalgia. I've also been watching your dbz videos so far and have been really enjoying them. Keep up the good work.
I have both rise of a ninja and broken bond as I enjoyed running around exploring. it was impressive for what Ubisoft was able to capture the whole village in detail. I think its more comparable that they were using the basic building blocks from their Assassins Creed game, as they are very familiar with it. The issues I had with it was definitely the wonky quick time event jutsus as if they are afraid to take a page from other naruto games that have simpler mechanics with a fair chance of mistakes. Its why i just focused on kicks and punches and saved my chakra meter for substitutions or at least some of the other cast of character that have their unique means to dodge like sharingan so I can rush in and get a faster hit ready to combo since they do more damage. The online fights with other players was BRUTAL. The Online Forbidden Forest Chunin Exams section felt frustrating with the sudden lags and unfortunate shots that some of the players who are way too into it like its some tournament that I can feel their intensity as if I wanted to tell them to chill out its just a game. The players that were already hokage felt the need to bully others in a way to kick new players down as the P VS P match wasnt fair and had little amount of people join in. You can gain points to get up ranks from Genin to chunin to special jounin, to jounin to finally hokage. If you gotten to a floor higher to gain more points or to get a new promotion you had to wait HOURS or more for a chance of someone to get to where you are to fight, as it was annoying as hell. Plus they had exclusive character(s) DLC in their UBISOFT section of the menu that was impossible to get as they discontinued it very early and just gave the cost $-1.00 which found it stupid when they could have just dropped it into the Xbox marketplace
I remember beating Rise of a Ninja for the first time on the Xbox 360 at like 11 years old. I cried for a week because there wasn't a sequel and after beating Gaara there was no more story to play through. It is criminal we never got a sequel. I remember the final fight with Gaara very little. All I remember is screaming jumping up and down because of how insane it was. I was such a weeb hahaha.
I love these Naruto vids. I’ll be honest Matty, you convinced my girlfriend and I to start watching Naruto. I had always dismissed it ever since I was a kid because I thought it was just like some generic anime and it’s so popular and I was a bit of a hipster asshole as a teenager, but now at 31 I’m loving it. We’re almost to Shippuden and it just keeps getting better and better. So thank you! Keep up all the great vids.
I know you didn’t 100% do it in this particular video, but I like that you keep it real with like the prices of the potential collector’s items you cover on your channel. It’s all too often that I see a cool game being reviewed, and go to check it out, just to see that it’s pricey as fuck and I get a little disappointed. Also, it just makes you kind of relatable like I think “yeah, $100 is kind of expensive for this 20 year old GBA game.” Obviously no shade to creators who don’t do that, it’s a very niche consideration. It’s just a nice little touch I enjoy with your reviews.
Discovered your channel recently. Love your content, and especially love the fact that you've built the most friendly, non toxic community I've seen yet man, keep that good stuff up.
This vid gave me HEAVY nostalgia. I got this game soon after release and loved it. And then the sequel just improved on this one for me. Makes me want to bust it out soon. Great video. :)
This was my favorite Naruto games when I was young! I loved just running around the leaf village, I thought it was so cool to be in the leaf and thought I could go anywhere. I eventually got into the UNS games but didn't really like them as much as rise of a ninja because there wasn't really exploration like I wanted. I replay rise of a ninja every year, its still one of my favourites as an adult.
I would love you to cover the full metal Alchemist games sometime too! Loved the ps2 ones. Sucks the west never got the other ps2 ones or the wii ones. Ugh still hoping one day we will get a big rpg based on series. I mean come on it’s one of best anime and manga
The best Naruto game without a doubt!! I love it and still play it today. I didn't care much for the Naruto games that were just fighting games and Uzumaki Chronicles was half way free roam but only in small instances where missions took place. Rise of a Ninja was so legit. I'm an RPG guy and this one was the Naruto game that hit the spot. I didn't even know about the broken bond sequel until watching this video so that is something to look forward to playing!
I played it when I was younger and extremely loved the whole collectables and secrets there were! The open world expect too! The iconic music was loving aswell! Right now I got the few newer versions of Naruto (Ninja Storm), they make a whole lot of fun aswell but I feel like something is missing with the first game where he is a child. So this game for 360 back in the day was super well made, cause you even were able to fight againts the kurama as the father of Naruto in the very beginning to get the first parts of his story going!
14:20 that was probably MK Armageddon, you unlocked new abilities to use on the free roam enemies and it had pretty satisfying combat for those segments
It’s mad that I’m looking at this from 2007 and it still looks more impressive (or at least very equatable) than Pokémon Scarlet / Violet. What the hell have Pokémon been doing all these years? Just technological negligence or intentional drip feeding?
Honestly Ubisoft were right with this one. This was the first really great Naruto game, thanks to the actual Animes OST, it was the first time it really felt like playing the anime. This game and its sequel are one of the few games that really need to be released on PC or get a remastered collection for all platforms.
I'm a PlayStation fan boy until my dying day, but I'm happy to say that Rise of Ninja for the Xbox is way better than Storm 1 for PS3. Rise of Ninja felt so alive, with an amazing open world. Meanwhile, the open world in Storm 1 was supper limited and felt empty, with no story mode to back it up. The gameplay was slightly better in Storm 1, but everything else Rise of Ninja and Broken Bonds did better.
That whole part of the video about how you get to fight random bandits and stuff, or in Battlefront, you're playing as random clone troopers. That's why I WISH we had a Naruto game, similar to Rise of a Ninja, but it's a completely original story where the main character is a custom character you get to make. A big open world Naruto Action RPG, but with whoever you want as the main character, with the actual main Naruto character still in it, but you work alongside them, or they're background characters, while you work with a completely original team. A Naruto game where like, it doesn't just follow the existing Naruto story, and you're not just a main character. You're just a random Ninja, in the village, and you're doing missions and stuff. Maybe occasionally crossing paths with the main Naruto characters, and helping 'em out in bigger more important story missions and stuff. Something like a mix of Rise of a Ninja, and Dragonball Xenoverse. But you're not the main character, you're just a side character that happens to get into the middle of the main character's business sometimes.
You can blame this game for all Assassin's Creed sequels. They saw how Naruto is cloning himself and thought "hmmm... What if we do the same thing to Assassin's Creed? 🤔".
New Naruto video?! LET’S GO! I hope you cover the Ultimate Ninja games at some point. They were amazing and of course, led up to the Storm games, but even on their own the UN games play amazing. I, sadly, never got to play this one, but it has always caught my attention.
As one of my favourite anime creators once said you are never to old for anime in fact you can watch the more extreme anime like hellsing when you are older for example
I grew up with this game and even now still absolutely love it there are just 2 things I hate with a passion. 1. Certain characters like Iruka are voiced by different actors but then you'll have clips from the name and it'll have the original VA in there and everything. 2. The Jutsu System, in other games you just press a button and if you hit the enemy you activate the jutsu however in this if you wanna charge your jutsu you gotta hope to god the enemy leaves you alone for long enough before they attack as if they attack before you complete it you have to start all over again and you've lost some health so yeah it is in my opinion the worst jutsu system in any Naruto game I've ever played... to be fair that doesn't say much as I've only played a few but yeah, not a fan.
i loved this game when it was new. I remember getting destroyed when I tried to go online. I also got the sequel but got stuck. I remember trying to return to broken bonds only to still not figure out how to progress the game.
I always liked that Rise of Ninja and Broken Bond incorporated the actual anime soundtrack into the games. Not many did that dont get me wrong i love the cyber connect sound that was influenced by naruto but its unique to these games for sure
from visual aspect... this is beautiful even better than the storm series on the same generation (6th gen consoles). the only thing that i miss from Storm 4 is the Storm 1 open world experience (just like Naruto Ultimate Ninja 3, 4, 5 on Ps2).
The most I remember about this game is that I never got to play it because as soon as I popped the disk in, my 360 gave me the red rings. And as I kid I thought the disk killed my Xbox. Boy was I wrong.
I loved these games, I was a PlayStation and Nintendo kid and I didn’t get an Xbox 360 until 2014 if you can believe that lol, but this game and the sequel were two of my favorite games back then. I love the free roaming ability that this game had, and the story arc from the original show was presented nicely in these games. Literally the only thing cringe about it was how some of the English voice actors couldn’t pronounce Naruto’s name properly. Lol.
One of my favorite games, Been replaying the hell out of it and I feel like it never got enough attention. I preferred this game over the whole storm series
Loved this video, it was super nostalgic for me! It was a great time to get so many Naruto games back to back! Is this game backwards compatible on the xbox one? If so does it have any boost in performance?
Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heroes for PSP got me into Naruto-Games. I remember when I got the 1st one for X-mas and I read the booklet on the way home. Every charakter had his own picture and introduction-text.
I remember playing this game online. Game was great. Adventure was awesome and the movesets to make jutsus were really nice. Makes me want to play this game again along with broken bond
fun fact the enemies gets harder if you increase your health max and starts too hand out more powerfull random encounters like a joinin ninja and elite ninja
I tried to 100% this game...the only one that bugged out on me after 10 attempts to complete it: was the Sexy Jutsu encounters. There was JUST ONE that REFUSED to ever load, or simply was not there. I looked over every square inch of the game, so I had to sit at 99.9% with literally everything else done on that game...fun times.
I never got to play these when I was younger, 'cause I sold my 360 to get a Wii, so I was rockin' the Clash of Ninja Revolution & Storm games. I remember seeing gameplay for Rise of a Ninja back then, and was like 😱. Not that the Storm & Revolution games weren't good, 'cause my friends & I DEFINITELY put loads of hours into both series - just that I always wanted these, too. But, guess what?? I just went on eBay and bought BOTH games for a little less than $50 combined! Case, and no manuals, but for that price - I'll live. 🙌🏼
I LOVED the online in this game.... addictive as hell. It had a mode where you had to when 3+ matches in a row (via getting the two scrolls). It was similar to SF4's Champion Mode. In terms of a FIGHTING Game... it was the best in the Naruto games. Damn
Since I'm trying to get all the throphies for the UNS Trilogy on PS4, I'd like to hear your thoughts on the two forgotten UNS games, Generations and Revolution.
This was the best Naruto game personally. Better vibe than the others. Ubisoft killed with this one. The open world still looks amazing I feel like I'm in the Leaf Village, journeying the actual cartoon.
I loved this game and Broken Bonds. I think the combat in storm was a lot better but the Villiage in these 2 games was the best iteration of the Leaf we've ever gotten imo.
The fact they never made this or Broken Bond backwards compatible on Xbox One/Series X is absolutely criminal, imagine these games running at 4K 60FPS

Anime fighting games became 10 a penny since this game so now it makes Naruto: Rise of a Ninja feel a lot more unique
Yesss! So happy you made this video for us! Thank you!
I would love you to cover the full metal
Alchemist games sometime too! Loved the ps2 ones. Sucks the west never got the other ps2 ones or the wii ones. Ugh still hoping one day we will get a big rpg based on series. I mean come on it’s one of best anime and manga
Rented this at Blockbuster as a kid on a whim. What a great game, I barely remember anything besides absolutely loving it.
Right now I’ll send feedbacks to Microsoft cause I want this game for series X
The best Naruto game without a doubt!! I love it and still play it today. I didn't care much for the Naruto games that were just fighting games and Uzumaki Chronicles was half way free roam but only in small instances where missions took place. Rise of a Ninja was so legit. I'm an RPG guy and this one was the Naruto game that hit the spot. I didn't even know about the broken bond sequel until watching this video so that is something to look forward to playing!
More Naruto vids! I loved your channel before these but this is just icing on the cake
It still looks good meanwhile at the time dbz got the same game over and over
This is an amazing game! I absolutely loved this for allowing me to explore the Hidden Leaf Village and the Naruto world, and this was the best ❤️
Amazing game. Now do next one to compare! I loveeeed these games!
A played the demo of this with my bro sooooo many times😂
Thanks for covering this game sir!
You can blame this game for all Assassin's Creed sequels. They saw how Naruto is cloning himself and thought "hmmm... What if we do the same thing to Assassin's Creed? 🤔".
Real
New Naruto video?! LET’S GO! I hope you cover the Ultimate Ninja games at some point. They were amazing and of course, led up to the Storm games, but even on their own the UN games play amazing. I, sadly, never got to play this one, but it has always caught my attention.
As one of my favourite anime creators once said you are never to old for anime in fact you can watch the more extreme anime like hellsing when you are older for example
ROAN was my intro to Naruto. I loved this game and it is a collectible right now. Hold on to that gsme.
I remember playing this game when I was a kid, I also remember getting stuck on something and so couldn't continue.
Hit me up i got something for you 🎁🎮
Listen chief. You have all these games now...I'ma need a video of you showing off the full collection soon!
One of my favorite Naruto games. The video made me go out and buy it again since my OG copy is long gone lol.
I always liked that Rise of Ninja and Broken Bond incorporated the actual anime soundtrack into the games. Not many did that dont get me wrong i love the cyber connect sound that was influenced by naruto but its unique to these games for sure
Also 27 it’s okay bud I’m with you
I never owned this but I remember playing it in elementary at my friends house all the time! Super fun memories
I totally forgot about this game thanks for reminding me I need to replay this
This game was fucking ruthless!! But enjoyable none the less. It really needed a Training mode though.
Hit me up i got something for you 🎁🎮
this game was so hype back then, one of the first anime games i've played
from visual aspect... this is beautiful even better than the storm series on the same generation (6th gen consoles).
the only thing that i miss from Storm 4 is the Storm 1 open world experience (just like Naruto Ultimate Ninja 3, 4, 5 on Ps2).
The best story mode is Rise of a Ninja, Broken Bond, Storm 2, Then Storm 3
It's insane that you made this video now. I just bought this and broken bond yesterday. Lol
Hit me up i got something for you 🎁🎮
Broken bond was the shit. I can’t wait for that video.
The most I remember about this game is that I never got to play it because as soon as I popped the disk in, my 360 gave me the red rings. And as I kid I thought the disk killed my Xbox. Boy was I wrong.
Just got the game today. Gona play it when I get he from work.
Lol.
This game was so fun to play online back in the day.
i remember this game being epic.. lets watch to see if my memory holds up
One of my favorite games, Been replaying the hell out of it and I feel like it never got enough attention. I preferred this game over the whole storm series
Okay yeah this Naruto game straight up looks like a playable version of the anime it looks perfect
Hit me up i got something for you 🎁🎮
I remember playing this game online. Game was great. Adventure was awesome and the movesets to make jutsus were really nice. Makes me want to play this game again along with broken bond
Hit me up i got something for you 🎁🎮
Broken Bond was a good sequel...sucks that neither of them are backwards compatible with Xbox One or the Series S/X
fun fact the enemies gets harder if you increase your health max and starts too hand out more powerfull random encounters like a joinin ninja and elite ninja
Fucking loved this game as a teen and always wanted a mix of this games free roam/story with Storms combat.
Hit me up i got something for you 🎁🎮
I LOVED the online in this game.... addictive as hell.
I always wanted this game cause the sharingan was so cool to use. I prefer when it’s used to read opponents, makes it so fun
This was the best Naruto game personally. Better vibe than the others. Ubisoft killed with this one. The open world still looks amazing I feel like I'm in the Leaf Village, journeying the actual cartoon.
Art style is crazy good
Remember this game was so good still have the game I wish they did this more than the storm series
These games will be worth a lot of money in the future. Especially broken bond, which even less people played.
Big part of my teenagehood
I loved this game and Broken Bonds. I think the combat in storm was a lot better but the Villiage in these 2 games was the best iteration of the Leaf we've ever gotten imo.
