I always felt that Evil Twin Biscotti Break really defined "pastry stouts" in that they didn't advertise it as an adjunct stout like Cigar City, etc., but instead advertised it as a bridging between sweeter type food and beer, which I think is the real line between "adjunct stout" and "pastry stout".

Kind of reminds me of the collaberation between Rogue Ales and Voodoo Donuts a number of years ago. A lot of people seemed to hate those as "novelty beers" but I loved them.

Henok seems like a good bloke, no real ego he just seems happy to talk about beer! I'm going off the style a bit having previously loved it, I find that once they go over 10% abv they get really hit and miss, even a lot of acclaimed beers I personally don't find balanced. I think 7% is the sweet spot where you can get a good body and a lot of flavours.

Edmontons Sea Change Brewery has a beer called Turbo Stout, It has a local sandwhich shops cronuts added into the mash I guess, and its one of my favourite local beers. And in regards to the slushy beer, I have always been the guy that sticks beers in the freezer too cool faster, occasionally I will forget and sometimes they will hyper freeze. They will still be liquid until you pour them then you have this nice slushy beer and Ive always loved it especially when its a good stout. So yeah I definitely see the appeal of a beer slushy. Kind of a rare special treat for me. The only downside is if you dont realize its hyper frozen right away and dont pour it into a glass its damn near impossible to drink out of the can. lol

Another great video guys! Really like your channel and looking forward to seeing you visit more breweries around the world.
Can I offer a small suggestion? Perhaps it's just me, but seeing (and hearing) that first reaction when you try a new beer is super important and something that should be done with that alone in focus. I.e not while someone is talking as it kind of falls flat, almost like you don't appreciate it as much. I'm sure you do, but not being able to show emotions because you obviously don't want to interrupt the person ruins it a bit. I think it would have a much bigger impact if you would finish talking about the beer and then try it in silence, see your facial expressions etc, followed by your comments and discussions about what you just experienced. Make of that what you will, it could just be my own personal preference. Keep it up guys, love what you do! :) Cheers /Fred

I do like a pastry stout occasionally but can we please get them in 330ml cans or bottles? 440ml of a 10%+ impy stout is always way more of a struggle to get through for me than a strong IPA. Have had some bangers from Omnipollo in recent years in this exact size but other than Amundsens dessert in a can series the rest of the market is generally bigger servings.
