Thank you for having me for this epic battle of Winotas!!!!
You played very well!
mastery! nice game! 👏💪
Your deck is brutal, that was insane piloting
OMG I didn’t know you played. Magic! Love your content
Is your list very unique or similar to other pilots in your opinion?
Can we get a video compilation of every “___ wins the ___ challenge and gets to start us off” in all of your videos so far? I think that would be hilarious to see all in one place
I like that idea!
seconded
Guys, I think Winota won that game, Winota almost had it, but when Winota did the thing, really made it so Winota couldn't come back, and when Winota made Winota do that!! absolutely crazy, Winota definitely deserved the win
Don’t think I’ve ever seen a Winota deck whiff that many times. That’s some seriously bad luck.
Does this count as a spoiler?
Oh I've whiffed hard, I had 10 triggers and whiffed 6 times lol, the problem was that in those 4 that I actually found something, all my other good humans were in too, so had to pick the best one.
@@mewtationssb indeed 🧐😅
There are a lot of things I want to talk about this game.
First, the mulligans. You know it's a real Winota deck when you have to mulligan aggressively as it needs a very specific kind of opening hands in order to operate well.
Second, that Lua's second victory didn't just happen. Dude, Ian was in such a commanding position despite his whiff. He had established board, the rabblemaster kept on snowballing, and he fetched a Solitude for extra caution! Just by a little push of luck, Lua made a huuuuge comeback. Very well played and thought. Bravo!
Third, it's crazy to see WInota decks nowadays. This deck really gets better with more sets released as Winota is actually an all-tribes tribal deck. The next set has a lot of good humans? That means more good stuff to fetch. The next set has a lot of cool non-humans? More creatures to declare atk with. Seeing Professional Face-Breaker performing that well in this game is gold. Face-Breaker is such a fine addition.
Great game, guys! Love it!
OMG Lua is an amazing pilot I do remember her learning to play this deck in the play to win channel, amazing.
“How do you do, my fellow Winotas”
This is it. This is the video.
Edit: seeing Mike keep a one land hand with a chrome Mox after a mull to 5 and then rip a Crypt off the top. This man’s luck is an 11
So close Ian lmao but Lua absolutely KILLED it in the second game with kikki
Twice in a row, the second game was tuff to play lol..gg everyone
It's great to see Lua and Rachel!
LOVE seeing Lua and Rachel on here, really fantastic pilots and super super lovely people
Amazing pilots!! This was a match of the ages. It was just kind of funny to see Ian fail to find anything at all so many times. Congrats on the win Lua, well deserved!!
what’s interesting about Lua’s build is that she uses cards which are not exactly used in the ddb builds, even in the Avalanche version. She’s piloting a version closer to a high level aggro deck. This proves that even in a pseudo-cedh build, the aggro of Winota is extremely potent.
I think the catch is that the other decks lists are optimized to play against decks that staxs matter, since they are all playing winota, stax isnt that usefull, cards like glow rider and deafening silence did nothing
@@zoienjooy yeah, that’s true. since they’re using the stock list against the general meta.
Hey hey, my one paper cedh deck. I adapted Ian's snowball deck and gotta say, she is so fun to play. It's super satisfying bringing boros to the table and having it do work. Ikoria was my first set coming back to magic too. Great game guys!
LOVE these themed episodes. Great way to spice things up with the usual cEDH content. More please!
The downside of an all winota game is that the stax pieces don't really affect the other winota decks cuz they're all designed to play around them, so you don't really get to appreciate the oppressive power that winota flipping magus of the moon and drannith brings
Oof, those game 2 mulligans had me wincing haha
Yea keeping a Sol Ring while bottoming a Mana Crypt. What?
@@yorionenthusiast170 well, with no colored source to play the e tutor turn 1, then there really is no difference to keeping the sol ring or the crypt. And if anything, in a combat meta, that 3 life every turn or two can genuinely change the game in a meaningful way. Not saying that's how I would've kept lol, but it's at least understandable on why they mulliganed like they did
@@bryantmoyle1706 there is. You will draw a card which could be a colored source AND you don't have to play crypt immediately.
LOL!! The yelling as Rick enters the battlefield 😂🤣🤣 CORALL CORALL!!! Hahahaha
Where did Ian get the Flooded Strand on Game 1? It wasn't in his opening hand and he drew a Gemstone Caverns 🤔
fantastic video idea. its gives the viewers the chance to see so many aspects of a deck and also 8 starting hands from the same card pool. should be a regular thing here on the channel!
Glad you enjoyed!
Used to play against Mike in standard a few years ago. Upstanding guy and I'm glad to see him here even if the deck fizzled in game two. Buy his alters folks!
One of the most terrifying youtube video titles I've ever seen. I'm gonna have nightmares now 👀
“Winota Staxxxx!” -Joe Johnson
I will always quote Joe when talking about Winota
I love these 4 pods of the same commander. It makes me want to do it with my group!
This deck is super rad! Such a fun episode! Great job everyone!!
Lua just wrecking on winona back to back! Can't believe Iann failed to find in 18 cards though, variance gets you sometimes though lolol
I feel like whoever is the "best Winota player" is usually just the luckiest at the time. xD That first game was RIDICULOUS for Lua.
Are you sure that Ian didn't put the Signal Pest triggers underneath the Winota triggers? I couldn't tell from the video - but that would be correct - to give incoming creatures the Battlecry trigger
Ian with the thirst trap pic, love it. ♥
I need more games like this . Three rounds to see who is the best at using certain decks. I like luas build a lot I've seen cards that I don't think of when I think cedh.
Attacks with Inky and Blinky, what a good line lol
This was awesome! Lua has inspired me to make a Winota deck of my own
Can't wait to dig into this one with what I assume will be FEARSOME STACK BATTLES
So this is how you beat Winota?! You just Winota even harder.
I think if you get a custom playmat to represent your favorite Commander, that automatically gives you at least a 10% edge.
Great game :) I love to see my favorite cEDH deck in action 4 times :D Congrats Lua.
I hope you'll consider doing a battle of Yurikos
Ian looking like the winota final boss
As a Winota player, I'm really glad to have watched this game.
inky and blinky is a beautiful line, great video for a great commander!
Wait goldnight commander and goblin Cratermaker arent in lua's decklist
Caaaarrrrrllllll !!!!!!!! Good games there. Winota gets out of hand fast!
Okay your introduction is epic and so hype.
I mean, that first hand of Ian with one land, mana vault and dockside was greedy as fuck.
I'm also happy to see that some did play the games till the end, with the pyroblast being mulligan instead of straight up removed from the list for a all-boros match.
Damn Winota won both games, what a broken deck
Why didn't Ian use his Facebreaker to turn some of the treasures into cards?
This is the best video on your channel yet
Also stoked to see ian in this
Pretty sure the preview hands for Ian are swapped for the games
Hey really small thing but on turn 3 game 2 did Ian miss a mana vault ping
This is the greatest pod I've ever seen
Jesus Christ guys! Could this pod BE any better?!
Ian's opening hand must have been incorrect (I was wondering why he kept it) as he apparantly had a flooded strand
Small mistake, but in a pod like this I was way more focussed on what their opening hands were, so I thought it was interesting (edit: grammar)
Why would you put back Mana Crypt over Sol Ring when mulliganing lmao???
And the MVP of the game goes to Winota, Joiner of Forces.
This was amazing, keep up the great work!
Poor Ian couldn't catch a break 🤧
videos that changed the world
Amazing content! More 4 of’s!!!
I feel like there is a mistake of Ian's opening hand in game 1, since the Flooded strand is neither his starting hand nor his first card draw.
LUNA MASSACRES IAN OMFG
LUA*
Next…
Gitrog vs. Gitrog vs. Gitrog vs. Gitrog
shit now I wanna build a Winota deck.
Love this! More of this please folks!
I love my Winota deck but it's not the stax build just all out offense. Definitely my go to if I want to win quickly.
6:08 Professional Face-Breaker only puts one treasure token , a lot of people missread the cards same problem with Grazilaxx
One per player.
This is a dream come true! All hail Winota!
I always thought that Professional face breaker only ever made just one treasure
One for each opponent. It can create up to 3 treasures in an EDH game.
ooga booga its fun magic time
Ian! So close to glory!
Lua had brutal Winota triggers. Suspiciously brutal.
I FREAkING CALLED IT, knew Winota would crush these fools.
I love combat damage decks, stardust gg on your win first game , can u win again?
Best. Video. Yet.
Ian seemed to want to lose, not playing vault on 1 and drannith on game 2
Dear God, this is ridiculously good fun lololol
welp, with that bad luck maybe it's time to go back to dawnwaker thrasios Ian 😁
Y’all should do one with all blue farm decks😂.
Damn Lua is good at getting lucky. But if you’re gonna be lucky with any commander, Winota is the best one.
Should blinkmoth turn into a mountain before damage?
yeah, so it becomes a land that has become a creature and gained flying
Yes. However, Moon effects only remove other land subtypes and any abilities, not card types or supertypes. The Blinkmoth Nexus was a 1/1 Artifact Land Creature - Blinkmoth Mountain with T: add R, and no other abilities.
It is a mountain, but that doesn't remove it being a creature since the ability had already resolved.
Came for the Winota stayed for the Lua
No counterspells?(
Lua's Winota build is definitely better in creature heavy pods.
There’s been some updates since need to fix my list
Tasigur control should be next, so we get the most insane stack we have ever seen in cedh.
I hate alliteration, but I love to hear what kind of contest someone has won in order to start.
I want to see a yuriko mirror match next.
War of the Winotas
I think you have Ian's hands in games 1 and 2 swapped.
Lua took a damage from a basic mountain attacking her.
Technically, not a basic, just a Mountain :P
I liked the player intros since I otherwise would not know who these people are.
If Boros is so bad, why did everyone bring the same deck?
And this is why I get bullied in almost every pod i play at
Waiting for the oona list 😭😭
I'd love to see this concept with four stax decks. No one able to play, it would be wonderful to see everyone suffer
when you whiff hard on those triggers #feelsbadman
Wachel Reeeeeeeeee
Ian just can't get that W against Lua 😅
The best and only deck to play is Winota. This the way
TOP 24 ONLY 1 HUMAN HELLO IAN
slayed
But then they say Boros is the weakest color pair in EDH...
