I`m glad to see I`m not the only one who has a change of heart in the middle of a half completed project. I will get a design in my head yet when I see it on a piece of furniture, I`m not "feeling it" Great recovery and beautiful like always.
Love how you guys don’t edit out your mistakes and are able to laugh at yourselves (and each other). You are genuine and fun. I always enjoy your videos!
Mistakes are going to happen to everyone when doing makeovers! Everyone needs to know that it just isn't a big deal. You figure out the answer and keep going! Thanks!😀
Your videos are so balanced, and a pleasure to watch. Thank you for explaining things as you go. Glad I'm not the only one working on furniture in the house, and using cool whip containers. Stay warm neighbors! Barry
Yes I am so glad you changed the black colour this looks absolutely stunning thank you for the tip with a paintbrush in the paint tray I always learn new things from you and Cindy love the space thank you so much for sharing have a great evening and God bless you both Merry Christmas
What a great finish you achieved on that dresser it looks great,I'm trying to decide on a colour to paint my three pine dressers and you've got me swinging towards grey, happy recycling from Scotland
This dresser turned out absolutely beautiful. Love that you glazed the base as well. Have to agree with yous, I also think the grey looks much better with the glazed top and base. GREAT job as always Jim and Cindy.
Originally I thought the black was striking. Actually it definitely was very striking. When you said 'we're changing direction' I immediately thought 'ok but ...'. Wow! Your choice was Top Shelf! You had a tired and worn piece and transformed it into a gorgeous, timeless item. The credenza/buffet/dresser has now reached it's full potential. (BTW, I am not a fan of grey. I have zero grey furniture, clothing, decor and I have grey roots about twice each year. I never joined the Grey Parade. Since this piece looks so grand I need to rethink a few things. Grey paint is on my shopping list.)
It’s amazing! What made you start furniture painting? How long have you been painting for ?. You and your wife make a amazing partnership. God Bless and have a Happy Holiday !
Thank you so much 😀 We started painting furniture when we did a piece for ourselves about 7 years ago. It became a hobby for us and was something we enjoyed doing together. We transitioned to full time when the pandemic hit due to the loss of both of our jobs. Cindy has since gone back to work and helps when she's not working, and I have continued full time.😀
Hi Jim and Cindy. Thanks for another great transformation. Just wondering how you deal with texture changes on your pieces when some bits are rolled and others brushed? Thanks.
Good question! The paints we use are very good at self leveling. We also use the Zibra brushes which we believe makes a difference! You can use our link to check out Zibra at bit.ly/3mltlGw Thanks!😀
Turned out lovely! I’ve been wanting to do our end tables. I saw that glaze yesterday at Ace. Would you mind telling me if that top was unsealed or sealed when you did the glaze on top to get that look? Thank you for sharing!
Hi Agnes! We actually wiped a dark glaze over the lighter grey paint. A lighter glaze over a dark paint doesn't really show. To do a lighter color over a dark color, we would probably use a dry brushing technique. The reason we only used the glaze on the top and the bottom trim was to highlight those areas. Hope that answers your question... Thanks!😀

Happens to us more often than we'd care to admit!😂 Thanks!
Really like end result with the gray. It’s subtle but yet elegant.
That is very elegant. Have a piece taking up way too much space trying to decide if I should glaze it. No doubts now
Go for it Roberta! It really is an easy process and looks so good!😀
Great job guys!
Thanks Jay!!😀
Very nice. Subtle, slightly sparkly and elegant.
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful. Good choice with the color change.

We love it! But how do you not get roller (orange) peel stippling on the drawers!? What is the trick?
Hi Elizabeth! I go into a pretty detailed explanation in this video... ruclips.net/video/0Tc11LzxIMo/видео.html Thanks!😀
Turned out lovely! I’ve been wanting to do our end tables. I saw that glaze yesterday at Ace. Would you mind telling me if that top was unsealed or sealed when you did the glaze on top to get that look? Thank you for sharing!
We apply the glaze on top of unsealed paint, then topcoat when dry. Thanks!
Why didn't you wipe grey over the black like on the top.
Hi Agnes! We actually wiped a dark glaze over the lighter grey paint. A lighter glaze over a dark paint doesn't really show. To do a lighter color over a dark color, we would probably use a dry brushing technique. The reason we only used the glaze on the top and the bottom trim was to highlight those areas. Looks great... but I think I'd liked the black with silver hardware and smoked top.
We think it would have looked good too, but we just weren't sure about the black. Thanks!😀
Next challenge: don’t use paint 😎
Hard to resist a challenge!🏋️♂️
