As an educator, I must say that your pace was clear and concise. I enjoyed how you explained each step without too much detail, keeping my attention eagerly, ( even through the ads) all the way to the end. I appreciate your honesty and how you shared your discoveries and even referenced other video sources. And that pop of red lips at the end made me say 'WOW!' out loud waking up my little one early. Thank you Ms. Muscari. I am inspired.
Just beautiful! I’m loving working with Dixie Belle. The absolutely the best paint I’ve used so far! Just finished a bedroom set! Feels like a brand new room!
Hi Christina, your piece came out perfect! As I watched you remove the veneer it reminded me of my grandmother’s mahogany sideboard and how badly it had aged. It’s amazing what you find underneath! Your ability to envision the final look while selecting all the finishes is spot on. When you showed the hardware I almost cried, you picked what was originally on Grandma’s piece! Looks pretty snazzy in your kitchen!!! Just saying, lol ~Hi from Connecticut =^..^=
This project turned out so nice. I have not tried Dixie Belle products but will now. I can hardly wait to go see all of the products that Dixie Belle has! I love Annie Sloan products! That is what I also learned to paint furniture with. I have used some of the Waverley paints because cannot always get Annie Sloan where I live. You do such great videos! Keep them coming.
Thank you for this video. You showed and explained many of these products extremely well. I’ve tried some of them. I REALLY love the Dixie Belle silk paint;)❤️ The dresser turned out stunning;)!
I have always been low-key obsessed with restoring furniture ever since high school; our final project in art class was to restore a wooden chair from a thrift store. It was really fun to do because my mom taught me this Elmer's glue technique for crackling paint. I made the seat cover with new foam and fabric. It turned out very shabby chic - and even though I'm an emo kid at heart, I really love the girly shabby chic style. We auctioned off our finished chairs and donated the money to a local charity. It definitely instilled a restoration bug. I have a dresser in my bedroom that has been waiting oh-so patiently!
Definitely using Big Mamas Butta on my black chalk paint project. Loved the appeal of that orange fragrance, and the need a stronger protection on the shelving Im painting. Plus, I’m totally going to treat the insides of all over my cherry bedroom furniture to bring back the luster of the wood and improve the wood. Plus... natural room freshener! 🙌🏻
The sea glass color came out beautiful. Love the dresser, very beachy.. I love how you walk us through every detail of your process and share every tip you have to make sure others get the most out of their future projects. Thank you., It must take so long to put the video together! Filming is very well done...a pleasure to watch.
My favorite was the sea glass dresser. I appreciated how to switched colors midstream to get the right effect. I wasn't familiar with Dixie Belle til I relocated where that's the only brand in the shops. It was helpful to see the different top coats especially one being able to waterproof without it looking too glossy.
Love the "Rosie the Riveter" look you got going on 🥰! Have been eagerly awaiting the follow up on this piece. The coverage with the first coat of DB paint is seriously like no other! That color is so soothing and pretty.
@@ChristinaMuscari Completely agree. I love the look of texture but have a serious issue with the "feel" of it 🤣, I know I know such an oxymoron 🤦♀️🤷♀️!
I just purchased a piece similar to yours and was not sure of what color to use. I love the light colors. Thank you for showing the technique from beginning to end. I am new to refurbishing and this video helped tremendously! Loved your finished project. Well, here I go, just going to dive right in. Hope my piece turns out as beautiful as yours! 🙂
What a beautiful makeover! Loved watching you paint with 2 colors, haven’t seen that before. I ❤️ this look!!! Great to hear about new products and I’m so ready to order from Dixie Belle!
Enjoyed watching this... I have many pieces in my house and a couple of chests of drawers have old reclaimed floors boards as the top they look great... 👌I also quite like different mixes of knobs makes it look qiirky 🌈
That was fascinating to watch. Thanks for being so detailed about how and why you things the way you do. I'm so glad you decided on the sea glass color. It came out beautiful!
Love the Sea glass color, as well as the top's stain - beautifully easy on the eyes, calming to live with:). Exquisite work, gorgeous finish! Thanks so much for showing us:).
First time watching your video. I’ve learned a lot from this video. I’m about to take on redoing my china closet with Dixie belle products. I’ll be watching more videos! Thanks!
I’m so happy you saved that sweet little dresser and gave it a new life. Quite a bit of work you did, but I love the color and you did a great job. Someone gave me a very old vanity that was actually saved from a house fire, and the laminate is peeling off. I was afraid I would ruin it by removing the rest of it, but now that I saw it could be done, I might give it a try. Thanks...
The more I work with chalk paint, the more I want to try my hand at redoing furniture! I currently do small crafts and use chalk paint to paint with, and I LOVE IT!!! I'll have to start small and work my way up.. =) Thanks for this awesome tutorial! I learned a lot!
Hi Christina! Beautiful job, very detailed and professional. Love the color as well. I refinished a bureau I bought at my church thrift store. Good thing I took out the drawers, because I found a man's brown sock and a $1 bill. My family and I had a little chuckile about that. I love your videos, I just subscribed, and look forward to more of your great videos. Blessings
I saw this in 10 trash to treasures. This piece is amazing! I love it that you made it into such a beautiful piece! You do such awesome projects! Please keep the project ideas coming!
I have an antique buffet in my garage that I could practice on!!! It is solid oak so no veneer to remove. I am a new subbie! Have watched five videos so far!
I know this is an older video, but I absolutely love this look. I am coastal cottage in my personal design preference. So I tend to gravitate to the sea glass and whitewash color combos. I need to watch the veneer removal video. I have come across several pieces that I passed on because of peeling veneer
I refinished furniture for 20 yrs. retired now. But I am interested in the chalk painting. I have removed veneer also with an clothes iron. put paper towels down and the glue helps the veneer to come off. This is an interesting channel. I will keep watching. Joyce
@@ChristinaMuscari Christina, I have a couple things I would like to share with you. My Dad was a carpenter so I learned from him also. One thing when you use a tack cloth you don't have to buy them. just use a paper towel or a rag and dip a small amount of your varnish into the rag then use it as your tack cloth. Also I always used very light grad of steel wool to go over the first coat of your dry varnish and then use the tack cloth to remove the particles. This will not take of any of the finish you just put on. If it is a table I do this 2 times. The steel wool makes a nice finish instead of the sandpaper. I hope this tips are useful and you can understand what I am getting at. Doing these pieces of wood is and Art. Write me back if you would like. Have fun!
Love this and one of my favorite colors (My Cancer Color My husband just recently made me a table for my heat press very similar in color. Great explanation of how you were doing it. Would love to re-do all our bedroom furniture this color however not so sure he's into it as much as I am. However this girl is not about to give up maybe we can do a mix and match. Y'all be well and stay safe.
Beautiful! So glad you could rescue this. It usually hurts me to see a wood piece “dressed up”, but that old girl needed a new party frock. The sea glass made it extra gorgeous - it’s a color I would never have chosen, nor would I have thought to put it over the sage. Thanks for the great ideas. I love the color of the walls - do you remember what it is? Thanks!

Wow- thank you for the feedback!
Not only is your furniture gorgeous but your name is one of the first beautiful flowers of spring! Muscari 💜
You’re a total stud. I’ve learned so much from your videos. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Love that you were able to save this piece. I'm a fan of the Dried Sage, but your vision of a lighter color was spot on! Love it!
Love it, love it, love it! I love how it got new life and continue to serve it's purpose.
Beautiful and the drawer pulls made it adorable
See, you have vision. If I saw that old dresser, I would have never thought you could have turned it into that. It’s so pretty.
Thank you.
Just beautiful! I’m loving working with Dixie Belle. The absolutely the best paint I’ve used so far! Just finished a bedroom set! Feels like a brand new room!
I did watch til the end and I’m really impressed... the color Sea glass turned out great 👍. Plus the drawer hardware completed the look.
Just beautiful, thank you for your contribution to humanity by updating furniture!! Is easy to avoid pollution. Blessings
Thanks, Isabel!
I loved the colors you chose and the knobs set it off!
Love the beautiful seagrass color! My fav!
That steel wool tip is everything! Thanks!
You are so welcome!
Excellent work Christina! What an awesome transformation of the old dresser! You did a brilliant job! Well done! It looks absolutely beautiful.

Well Done! Amazing transformation, you took what was basically a pile of firewood and gave it a whole new life!

I agree that was a nice piece to save. And good paint brushes don't shed. Purdy brushes are worth the couple of bucks extra.
Wow very beautiful😍
النتيجة خيال👍
This is gorgeous Christina, I love the blue colour with the white washed top. I would love it in my home but New Zealand is a bit far!
Thanks, Monique! NZ would be a long journey. 😂
