I remember learning the beginning part of this by watching the video years ago and becoming ajusted to the negative hand staff. These techniques are very practical and emphasize the basics. I still use some of these inverted hand staff techniques✅

Oh my God thank you so much for this video. One of the greatest gifts I ever received. I will use a stick whenever possible instead of a gun or blade.
Funny since in Chinese a stick is called a gun. xD
Same here but one problem, sometimes it doesn't work to save living things without killing living things
Lise Veland yeah, guns were not everywhere back then. That being said, it's not necessary to use a stick to use the same philosophy today. Collapsible batons, mace, tasers, and all kinds of weapons have been made that can stop someone but spare their life. Personally, idc what the law says i can use in terms of weaponry. My life and my code of honor comes first

Yin shou means holding the staff so that both hands would be face down if you held it in front of you horizontally like a quarterstaff.

I was looking around and saw that many forms are named "yin shou" or, "yin shou gun" Does this form have a particular name to distinguish it from the other yin staff forms? or are they all refered to by the same name?
it is northern shaolin..thats all ....
yin shou literally means yin hand. yin shou gun literally means yin hand stick/pole.

no i think i remember that yang was the sunny side of the hill and yang was shady side of the hill
ultimately it does represent the law of how opposites cant exsist without one or other, in fact i studied accupressure a bit ant yin and yang represent a large number of things, even a bunch of things within our own bodies our lungs and large intestines are yin and yang organs of the metal element
