Most everybody I know would like to convert their drips to sprayers. I find drips have 10 times the maintenance of sprayers and when you have a drip system, you still need to water by hand periodically. When I built my new house, the man that designed the irrigation system told me that he hated drips. The irrigation installer told me that he hated drips. The city inspector said that he hated drips. And as a homeowner, I hate them too.
So much negativity. I need drip for plants like roses because they do not like to be watered from above. Not sure what kind of maintenance you are talking about.
Very useful information . When we convert one of the rainbird pop up sprinkler (Rainbird 1800 ) as you detailed out how much each will be able to deliver in GPH ? You will be basically shutting down other sprinklers in the area and using one sprinkler head conversion for drip irrigation . Does one sprinkler converted delivers how much GPH ( Rain bird 1800 )
I have one station that has at least 5 pop-ups, and I need to sacrifice 1 pop-up for a drip conversion. The drip will be feeding 2 Podocarpus bushes. How do I keep my station timer set without overwatering that station’s pop-ups (lawn) and still have enough water output for the 2 Podocarpus bushes? If I vary my emitter output to a higher GPM, will this affect the pressure and output of the pop-ups on that same timer station?
I have the same situation, and l was thinking just replace that one Hunter sprinkler head with a Rain bird 1800 brand. Not 100% about this l have to physically check the items.
I have 6 sprinklers on a zone want to install a drill line on (1) of the sprinkler heads is this do able? Or will the drip line pull too much water away from the other sprinkler heads???
You should be good, the only thing is that you will need to increase the watering time to an hour, and this could cause over watering in the area that your other sprinklers are running.
@@Max-gt1hw Yeah how do you work around this? Seems he sort of touched on it but I didn't catch on. Seems the drip one either needs a lot of flow, or the other ones need to be constricted which they probably weren't designed for.
You really need to get rid of the background music. I found it difficult to hear the speaker and completely annoying that it had to compete with loud obnoxious music.
