    Im glad you got to try this machine out. I was going to buy a new machine and was looking at the 235 EMC. The Esab rep was in the store that day and told me that this was coming out and that I should wait for it. Thanks Bob for the demo. Would love to come out to the college and play with it for a few minutes. Would like to see how it does on thin aluminum.

    I've been waiting for this machine to come out for a year now. I held off on the 215 so I could get this for the AC Tig. Can't wait till it launches next year.

    I have been holding out for this for way too long! I have a caddy 2200i TA34 tig and a caddy c200i mig and would like it all in one box for site work. I'm gonna be inline tomorrow to try it out. Hopefully it's as good or better than the 2200i in ac tig mode. If it is I will be selling my backup machines, buying one of these and sitting the 2 caddy's in the closet as the backup machines. I'm so glad I can get ESAB machines in the USA! I grew up in europe and learnt on ESAB machines. I shipped my old smashweld 185 over with me when i emigrated and it was a great machine and was still going strong when i sold it on. Forget your miller blue and lincon red I'm on the yellow team..... well green too I have a TD cutmaster 52 also :-)

    Was almost talked into buying the 215 & literally minutes before buying I seen an online advertisement for this but it wasn't available yet.... Decided to hold out until reviews came in..... Still can't believe the dealer tried talking me into the 215 even after saying i would rather wait for this

    why or what is dc tig vs ac tig ? ac better for aluminum ? which is best for replacing muscle car sheet metal ?

    • @jonnygalante3623
      @jonnygalante3623 Год назад

      You need to run ac current to weld aluminum, DC will not work for aluminum. If the sheet metal is steel then use DC, if aluminum use AC. Most tig machine have only DC capabilities, so it's cool to have both

    All that steel makes you loose a step with aluminum sometimes. What’s the Tig duty cycle? The miller is 20% no pulse hrz or slopes. This seems to be better

    Hi, Bob. I'm strictly a hobbyist welder, but I try to soak up all I can about different processes. Maybe I've missed something simple, but what is the point of using different frequencies? Looking at the welds, I couldn't tell the difference between the ones done at 25hz and those done at 400. Do different applications call for different frequencies? Thanks.

    • @mrgreenswelding2853
      @mrgreenswelding2853 6 лет назад

      The lower hertz give a wider arc and better penetration, good for thicker stuff. Higher hertz gives a narrowed arc with less penetration good for thinner stuff.

    Sweet! I repaired an alternator welder once, it was amazing, it was singing around 3 khz. Smoothest welds ever. Wound up getting the inventor involved, and he never could figure out what I did to make it run so well. I was hoping that the ESAB ran a higher frequency, but that was very nice work.

    It would be nice to have a true all in one welder. But I can not complain about our Lincoln tig 185. Well. I could get nit picky about it but I won't. Could use a few more settings but it is old and welds amazing for what it is.

    • @weldchip
      @weldchip 5 лет назад

      actorzone I went to fabtech and welded with the new 205 it’s just as good as my older machines and better in some respects. Esab is a great company I have several of their machines and they have always been excellent.

    • @actorzone856
      @actorzone856 5 лет назад

      @@weldchip The EM 215 would suit me as i only use the Mig Function as i have never welded aluminium or TIG welded, the EMP 215 costs about $2350 in Australia, the suppliers don't have the EM on their books as it would have to be imported in, the 205 has this high frequency function so does that improve the TIG welds, we have 240 volts ac here so i can use its full potential. I only have a Lincoln 170p which has been very reliable.

    Honestly, The long term quality and dependability is NOT there. I have had failures on about 50 percent of the 205's i have sold since they came out. For the price, i expect better quality. I have been in Welding sales for over 20 years, and this is one of the worst "New products" to be dumped on the consumer. When it works it is great, but depend on it. Thats my 2 cents on this machine.
