this is an awesome video. i never thought about the tonal shift in new colossus, but i honestly didnt mind it and honestly think it makes a ton of character interactions super endearing

Everytime I play it, I walk away with a different opinion. This latest replay I was definitely cynical and I do prefer new order over new colossus regardless. But the change isn't always a big thing, I do prefer the side characters in NC over NO with the exception of Wyatt/Ferguson

I'm very confused that this video is not viewed more, this was really interesting, how did it go from such an amazing start (gameplay and narrative) but then just got worse narratively.
Well I enjoyed this video a lot ✨✨✨, hope to see more

    Wolfenstein is amazing,
Big thanks to the makers who have not shoehorned a multiplayer into a great old school fps

I loved New Order and Old Blood. I got New Colossus on a sale and I left disappointed and confused as fuck, it felt like they gave the writer's job to a shitty Hollywood blockbuster studio that thought every 10 minutes needed you to either cry, smile, laugh or have another random shootout.
Last year, my brother gave me Youngblood as a christmas gift, I played it with him. What in the actual fuck did they do to this franchise, I can't fathom to this day. How did they do such a brutally amazing soft-reboot of the franchise and made such a nice quality stand-alone DLC for it, to then fuck it up to this degree?
In just two games, its gotten to the point they might as well just go scorch earth on it and soft-reboot it again with the timeline bullshit Youngblood was going for. Or even further beyond, just fucking reboot it ENTIRELY. There's no coming back from these shifts in tone. Delete New Colossus and Youngblood, restart from there. And for the love of fuck, don't do DLCs like in New Colussus. I don't give a flaming fuck about replaying the same maps again with different enemy placements as a different character when it's a FUCKING FIRST PERSON GAME WITH INTERNAL DIALOGUE, it's so FUCKING STUPID.

i did love the first three games a lot, including new colossus, and there's plenty of things new colossus gave me to think about in retrospect, and yes, the tone felt different, but i felt like it fits because the game ended on a hopeful note. however yeah i think now that if it had been less jokey it'd be better, and if the tone flowed from "darker" to "lighter" while still taking the world and characters seriously i think it'd be good i feel, though i dont know how that would be done. the childhood home level does feel disappointing now that i think back to it, but i think it's a good metaphor for the series itself, since it starts so fucking well but then it drops the ball when it instantly wants to jump into action. i hope they will reel it back with the next installment, but who knows anymore with bethesda.
i dont think i wanna play youngblood though

gameplay gets better story gets worse, a really sad state considering the strong start, i hate the whole humor-ification of games. You can really see the start in borderlands 2 and the rise of marvel moves, ever since then so many games try to be hip with the kids and "funny", even god of war ragnarök can be considered less serious then 2018, back to gamepass i was really excited about redfall, then i saw some gameplay talk about how one of the character's ultimate is there vampire ex-boyfriend. and i can already tell the quality of the writing. Theres a place for humor but many games just use quip's like from the mcu, wolf 2 REALLY shouldn't have had a 1/16th of the humor or random philosophical statements such as the consciousness speech, since it never comes up again as you have said. Ah i miss the days of bioshock, where triple a games werent competitive battlepass ubisoft skinner boxes or has needless stat mechanics which is the unfortunate path youngblood went considering how great the level design are and guns feel, the armor types is the same issue i have with far cry 6, i dont need gear scores i dont need meangless match color, at least in borderlands they have different functionality or can mostly work on "wrong" armor bars, where as in youngblood and far cry 6 its a chore to match armor, even if youngblood tried to fix it with some updates and made it better then it was at launch, good video thank you!

Yeah. I feel like quips in a world where Nazi's run the show is probably not the best move. I'm surpised to hear that Farcry 6 has an armor system at all. Ubisoft rarely tries anything new lol

Wolfenstein 2 is perfect. It's Scifi WW2. What if? but in a Quinton Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez kinda way. It's definitely not about modern politics lol but you could make connections. It's more of a parody with some serious and deep elements with the characters. Nothing is really lazy it was kinda the point and a nice continuation of the prior two games.

Actually I disagree I knew he will get a super soldier body because they hinted at it through the whole game if you listen to what the doctor talks about

in my opinion the ending of new colossus was pretty disappointing, the final boss fight didnt feel like a boss fight and it just left us thinking what will be next
