    That was fantastic! I know Ian did a number on Sanibel but you can't take the Spirit of the people.

    I know Sanibel and Captiva have gone through many changes, but kudos to those that saw the tide coming and made sure at least Sanibel incorporated. It's a very special place. One that my family and I enjoy on a regular basis. A great place to unplug.

    i love sanibel....one of my 1st jobs was out on that island washing,vacuuming,and detailing cars....goodtimes

      Best I can say is I drove the original bridge 😊 but that ferry ride reminded me of the Shelter Island Ferry off of Long Island, that to this day is still the only way on and off the island. The Sanibel ferry must've been pretty scary riding during the storm season?!

    I came here to Reminisce about what the Island used to look like. I worked out there at the turn of the century. It's a shame that hurricane Ian damn near destroyed this island

      used to run the Sanibel mobil for over a year. I became an ornamental welder. ended up repairing a rail for rauschenberg after Hurricane Wilma.

    I watch this documentary and one of the Bailey Sons said his father said that it would be a bridge one day coming to the island. I know why the father said that because no matter how many people come to the island the energy remains the Same.
