I rode this boat in 2017, to and from Key West, the same day. Much cheaper then I might add. The return trip was awesome with th e sunset over the horizon, pictures from the top deck. Amazingly smooth ride, though so were the seas.
Matt. The cure for sea sickness is - Drive the boat. Not this boat but rent a boat and drive it. wires your brain is it understands the motion is directed by you. I had the seasick issue my whole life but because I loved scuba diving I still got on the boat...and got sick. Then I bought a used boat because I was living in Cape Coral on a Gulf Access canal and I never got sick and never got sick as a passenger on other boats. It works.
If you live in, or visit, the Fort Myers Metro area (Lee County, Collier County, Charlotte County, Hendry County, and Glades County) then the "Big Cat" is the way to go. Driving should not even be a consideration since it is a long drive, can be dangerous, and finding transportation on the island via the rental of a cheap golf cart is no problem. Going to the airport is just a hassle. One quick correction for your viewers, this is not a hydrofoil, it is a simple, yet huge, catamaran that is jet driven, just like a jet ski or one of those Yamaha jet boats.
Do you just automatically take the Dramamine? I'm assuming you feel more motion on those types of vessels. The only cruise I've been on, I used the wristband. I never really felt the motion, but i just kept the band on
Yes, and I think I got bad with motion either as I got older or after dealing with the rough seas passing thru the drake passage. I usually always have Dramamine or off brand motion pills or even the sea bands. They all work some for me. Plenty of times they didn’t last and I lost my lunch. The bigger the ship the more I havent had motion issues.
Probably about a 1/2mi or 10-15 min walk. Depends on where on Duval. Not bad though. The ferry drops off right near the intersection of Caroline, Grimnell, and Mustin.
Another matt"s moments banger
Thank you
