The BIG PICTURE is CRITICAL here. Most people experience intense emotions at times. It’s not that people with borderline personality disorder feel emotions that others don’t; it’s that those with BPD typically feel emotions more easily, more quickly, and more intensely. They also struggle more to return to baseline compared to the average person. So, what might be upsetting for someone else could be absolutely devastating for someone with BPD, and take longer to recover from. It’s also important to note that not everyone with BPD will express emotions in the same way. Our purpose with this video is to highlight the difference in the intensity of emotions compared to everyday experiences, which we can best convey through large physical behaviors. However, there are many people with BPD who experience intense emotions but are skilled at masking them. What is emotional instability like for you? Drop a comment to share your experience!
True I used to wonder how, but literally just by doing something simple as that actually helps you clearly identify whatever it is to clear up internal frustrated confusion
G O D, if this isn't the truth! I can't express enough just how grateful I am to have my antipsychotic and mood stabilizer drugs, 'cause without them I frankly couldn't really function and wasn't bearable to communicate with, either.
i actually laughed at this video. not because it's funny, but because it's so relatable that it shocks me to see that my "crazy" emotions and reactions really are linked to my bpd, and also I'm not the only person experiencing this!! damn.. well, good luck, folks!!
This is like all of me😂 .....I will say tho you forgot the part when you like something as a hobby it's not just "oh this thing is cool,it's fun keeps me occupied i could do this sometimes" it's more "yup this is my new personality and I will make this into everything I do now and learn everything and obess over it" This is what my mom said it looks like for me with all love😂 she explained it like it's suffocating to here about it all day everyday(my fish, snails and bunny hobbies)
Usually, the cycles last way longer in bipolar and there's not an outside trigger for the bipolar person. BPD can cycle in hours to days verses bipolar is usually cycling between states for weeks to months on end. It is very hard to distinguish between the two for clinicians because they can look very similar. I received my diagnosis after they realized the bipolar meds made it way worse for me. I hope it gets easier to tell the difference in the future, but at the moment, the tools and mental health professionals are limited.
There are definitely some people with BPD who struggle to feel happy! For others, happiness comes more often - it can feel very intense, just as intense as our negative emotions.
Hmmmm, its called an emotion for a reason. I believe you can be a non bpd person and be effing angry when you're angry!! 😂 Lmfao. Feel that shit whatever it is bruh

“I’m angry this keeps happening.” Naming the emotion feels freeing.
True

Dang. I was just telling my friend how it’s not all bad and they agreed, this was a really good way of showing the way it can feel.
Brilliant, I'm not just a 'Drama Queen'
As someone with BPD i can say yup you nailed it
I don't have BPD, but this is me with sadness and certain emotions, feels like the absolute end of the world.
The tats on happiness and boredom are beautiful ❤
This only happens to me when I’ve been extremely patient with someone for a really long time and they’re outright abusing me over and over and over

The sadness got me like it literally feels like the end of the world
Its true but at least we can say we fully experience emotions in life 🎉 better than not having any!
Yes, but then....we dissociate as well. Rinse and repeat.
Great music to match the emotions ❤

Rage and sadness 😢
I so feel seen. Thank you. Lol ❤ Btw...please show the extreme numbing dissociation that follows afterwards.
yeah, it's so fucking fun.... lol.. great depictions, ladies.
Good illustrations. My daughter gets like that. The raging is terrifying
SO accurate 🥹😬
Oh these are all me 😅
I’m the opposite of everyone in that I do not cry ~ not in front of anyone or for any reason other than shedding a tear watching a sad movie
I feel so seen
Very accurate!
I dig the commitment!
uh so we're just passionate people
But what happens if your still being hurt by family members and consequences of the trauma. Is this the overlap with ptsd?
I can only laugh at myself sometimes!
And sometimes it's really not funny that I get this intense and struggle to calm down
I'm pretty sure it's normal for some people to cuss while they're mad
How is all this different than Bipolar II…?

How about ADHD/autism?
BPD happiness? I think I've heard wrong, isnt it?
