"I'm gonna cut that part out" 😂 Nice editing with the music, I see what you did there. 👀 2:24 now that? was funny as hell. Great sequence. That's one cool setup on the lake, heck of a house. I thought Sherri was a natural, but I see those bands and all that working out. She'd make a good herper with that work ethic. Sweet vid, Lou, nice to see one from you.

Hi Lou, all. Very nice video. It looks like the same location as a video of yours a couple of years ago. For a millisecond, from the title, I thought Lou might be modeling a bikini. My mind recoiled in horror. Thank goodness it all worked out. Lou, you have a wonderful family, and you have soul and I bet you're one heck of a pilot. Last time herping for me was 1994. Best regards from Newfoundland, Canada.

I've only had experience with a few king snakes and like your Brooks here (or speckled King) they've been absolute sweethearts and genuinely as curious and harmless as me..........but then I saw one brutally attack and then consume another snake which blew my mind!! That experience gave me a newfound respect for these great snake hunters!! Looks like you guys should move to your lake house year-round, Lou!! It is gorgeous there!! Jim C.

Hey Lou, ive never searched missouri but I have searched the blue ridge in N Georgia. Im from Mississippi and ive found copperheads in both spots this way. When the nights get around the 50s or 60s and the days range between high 60s or 70s. I have found almost everyone ever between dusk and 930 p.m. road cruising. Probably around 30 or 40 that way. I have occasionally caught one crossing in the afternoon and some juveniles warming on cooling asfault in the latter part of the afternoon tho. First one I found in Georgia was at around 9 p.m. it was around 40° at the end of June! Very crazy an unexpected. As for Timbers/Canebrakes look for South facing mountain sides. In the spring and Fall big males will cross the road looking for breeding females but the rocky outcrops will produce multiple snakes near one rock alot of times. Best herping advice I can give. Some serious herpers might be mad but you can erase my comment after you read thru Lou. Been watching your videos since before you found the Gold King in that ditch! Impeccable example! Keep em goin man and happy herping!

Young coopers or sharp shinned hawk Lou. It’s difficult to say for sure without anything in the pic for scale. Red tailed hawks aren’t true hawks. They are much bigger and they are actually buzzards from the “Buteo” genus but for some reason they got named hawks. Same with the ferruginous hawk, the red shouldered hawk, the broadwinged hawk and a few others. There is only three species of true hawk in the usa. The smallest is the sharp shinned hawk, the middle sized is the coopers hawk and the biggest is the northern goshawk. All three are members of the true hawk genus “Accipiter” .
Now if you think it’s strange that buzzards are being called hawks then this will really bust your dome. Buzzards are being called hawks and vultures are being called buzzards. 😂
