A shame this was never on the Diorama album, I think this would’ve been a hit tbh, though I’m pretty sure Johns was forced to make this song for American radio and he didn’t want to make this so I get why he didn’t use it. 🤷♂️ It’s actually one of my favorites.
Daniel actually said in an AMA on Reddit not too long ago that this is one of his favorites, and he was gutted it didn't make the cut. He wrote "Hollywood" for American Radio, and "Ramble" as a "fuck you record execs for making me write 'Hollywood.'"
@@DeadMatterDesign Can you link that AMA? I can't find it for the life of me and I'm honestly doubtful of that story. Dan has stated that Ramble was written as a fuck you to record execs but he never mentioned that he regretted leaving it off the album. He's said that he regrets leaving Asylum off but never Ramble as far as I'm aware. Also Hollywood was written before Diorama so why would it of been something he was forced to right even though it was written when Silverchair were on hiatus
Silverchair is the most underrated band ever IMO.
